every one laughs, but not from their hearts

everyone smiles, but sometimes it's dark

the people that frown are threatened to smile

and when they do smile, it's not from the heart

you say what is right and you can't sleep at night

you stand for your rights and you get tossed aside

are you for or against, you can't pick a side

and then when you do, you start up a riot

the people are down, the government is high

you trying to leave but cannot decide

to stand up and fight, or cower and hide

you can't take a side for fear of your life

you can't run forever for fear of your time

you can't take your life for fear of forever

and you cannot stay and not do something either

but what can you do, you cannot decide

So you shut up your mouth and pray not to die
