A COUPLE WEEKS LATER (SORRY FOR SO MUCH TIME SKIPS, I JUST DON'T WANT TO DRAG ON THE FIC LONGER THAN IT NEEDS TO BE, BUT GET READY FOR SOME TRUE DRAMA🤭)

i woke up to my blaring alarm at 6:30 am and groaned.

i finally had to start american school. judging by the time, i already fucking hated it.

i dragged myself out of bed and into the shower. i hopped out and grabbed a pair of leggings and a long sleeved t-shirt. i braided my hair and put on light makeup before heading downstairs completely miserable.

"good morning to you too." ashton chuckled as he gave me a plate.

"why do americans start school so early?" i complained as i stabbed my eggs aggressively.

"you know, i don't have an answer for that." ashton shrugged as he cleaned the pan.

i was a bit nervous to start school. i didn't know anyone and it was supposedly really big.

ashton took me school shopping a week early and i grabbed most of my supplies.

i grabbed my back pack and started to put my shoes on.

"do you need money or want food for lunch?" ashton asked as he stared at me.

"you know i don't eat food during the day." i spoke swiftly as i tied my shoes.

"you should though." ashton shot back.

"look, it's not because i don't want to eat, i just simply don't feel hungry." i shrugged.

ashton headed to the car with me and as soon as we got in, i remembered, "ash, i have cross country try outs today. so i'll text you when to come get me."

"perfect. it will either be me or one of the boys." ashton smiled softly as he focused on the road.

"can you teach me to drive?" i asked.

"you don't know?" ashton spoke as he shot me a quick glance

"no clue what so ever." i spoke as we pulled into the parking lot.

"remember, you have a brain for a reason, if people want you to do dumb shit it's okay to say no." ashton reminded as he looked me dead in the eyes.

"i know dad." i spoke with an eye roll.

"aw, you called me dad." ashton spoke with a smitten smile.

"yeah, whatever. love you." i spoke softly with a smile as i left the car.

"love you too tory." ashton replied.

i was walking to the front of the school when it hit me.

mom didn't even text to ask me how stuff was going or if i even liked american school.

i guess she forgot about me.

i walked into the building and made my way to the principals office.

"hey, could you tell me where to go? i'm a new transfer to the school." i spoke politely to the lady at the front desk.

"of course! that's quite an accent you have? where are you from?" she asked.

"australia." i replied.

"very cool! you're name?" she asked.

"tory brown." i replied stiffly.

"got it. you're in the right place. take a seat and i'll let the principal know you've arrived." the lady smiled brightly as she picked up the phone.

a couple minutes later, a man came out of an office with a big smile.

"hello! you must be tory. my name is mr. smith. it's nice to meet you." he smiled as he stuck out his hand.

"hello, it's great to meet you as well." i replied as i shook his hand.

"i don't have much to tell you. i just wanted to formally introduce myself. there's someone waiting for you outside to give you a tour. if you need anything, my door is open." mr. smith spoke with a smile.

he seemed nice.

i walked out of the building and saw a boy with black hair and icy blue eyes.

"tory?" he asked.

"yep, and you are?" i asked.

"the names tyler." he replied with a smirk.

"great to meet you tyler." i replied as i stuck out my hand.

"it's nice to meet you too. although, i have a feeling we're going to be really close."
