From the Journal of Lorraine Ellis

November 27, 1923

When I told them I wanted to go down into where Jesse fell to explore, I got quite a few looks.

Wesley was smiling like he did not think I was serious.

Father looked proud that I had finally given into the need for adventure outside books, like his influence had finally made me crack.

And Jesse...well, he just gave me a smile and a wink.

There was no getting me out of wanting to. I wanted to see for myself what Jesse had said was down there. It could have not been coincidence. Tunnels under ruins do not carve themselves.

There has to be a reason they were built.
