From the Journal of Lorraine Ellis

November 9, 1923

Two of the most incredible things happened today. Two things that made me think, made me question everything that has happened in these past eight months.

First, the translation of the book is complete.

I now know the entire history of the Triumvirate.

But as for the last three pages...well, that is something that I am not sure of.

The first page is a map of what looks like a house.

The second is three columns of numbers - maybe years? - under each of the three groups symbols, which I have drawn perfectly.

The third is the strangest, row after row and column after column of strange symbols and letters combined, but making no sense. This one took me quite a while, making sure I had every one of them in the right place. If something was not, it would be ruined. I have already sent a wire message to Wesley in England, careful of what I said in it, of course.

As for the second thing to happen...well, I am still having a hard time believing.

It happened right after I finished the translation in the library. I had been staring down at it, trying to decipher the symbols, when someone sat down at the table across from me.

A voice I did not think I would ever hear again.

A crooked smile that made my heart stop.

A scar along one brow that had not been there before.

An even bigger mystery than the one that had been open on the on the table in front of me.

Jesse Gordon.

Right there in front of me...and very much alive.
