- Climbing: Ryu is a skilled climber
- Zoology: Ryu knows a lot about different animals
- Draw skills: Ryu can draw something very well by just seeing something for a few minutes
- Dragon riding: Ryu is a skilled dragon rider
- Leadership: Ryu has been shown to possess capable leadership qualities and he's able to formulate efficient combat tactics in the heat of battle
- Drone Piloting: Ryu is capable of accurately flying small propeller drones
- Intelligence: Being raised by his mother who is a professional geologist, Ryu has some knowledge of rocks & minerals and other geologic phenomena.
- Reading runes & Norse writing: Ryu has read all dragon and Viking books. He's able to read the ancient runes the Vikings used, so he's able to translate all his viking and dragon books to English and coming up with names for the new dragon species
