[3RD POV]

Hindi tumagal ng isang araw bago kumalat ang balita. It just happened last night, yet, everyone already know what happened.

'The executioner from Lunar Academy, Principal Helena's right hand— Gin, died.'

Most of the people in the academy are heartbroken with the news, specially the Lunar Academy that is grieving. Many questions appeared.

How?

What happened?

How did the executioner, one of the Generation of Prodigies... died?

Together with sorrow and despair, fear and overthinking started to eat people's thoughts.

'Whoever killed the executioner, can kill anyone from the Generation of Prodigies— we are doomed.'

Mainit-init ang usapan tungkol sa paparating na malaking digmaan, at napapaisip na ang mga tao.

'Mananalo pa kaya tayo?'

Sa gitna ng mga usapan, isang lalaki ang walang ekspresyong naglalakad sa pasilyo ng Solar Academy. Walang buhay ang nanlilisik na mga mata, parang walang nakikita.

Law is about to lose himself. He's on his way to the principal's office, to confirm the news he heard. Napakagat siya sa ibabang labi, parang nag-eecho sa tenga niya ang narinig niyang masamang balita.

He was just with Zeldrick, who's resting, a while ago. As soon as he stepped outside Zel's room, a student was waiting for him outside, with a look of despair.

"T-There's a news that came from Lunar Academy... it said that the e-executioner died."

As if Law's world stopped. Hindi kaagad niya naproseso ang narinig.

He can't believe it— he won't believe it. 

That's why he'll confirm it right now.

Dahil sa pokus niya sa dinadaanan, hindi niya napansin ang mga bagong dating na nadaanan niya. 

Kagagaling lang nila sa tagumpay nilang misyon. Kapansin-pansin ang mga pula nilang buhok, kasunod ang babaeng may dilaw, at isang estudyante. Xilah, together with her cousin, joker, and Zeke just came back from their mission. They haven't heard about the news yet.

"Oh, Law!-"

Xilah greeted her student with a smile, that immediately faded. Parang hindi siya nakita ni Law na nagpatuloy sa paglalakad. Pare-pareho nila itong sinundan ng tingin.

"Hindi ka kaya niya narinig?" walang ganang sambit ni Yadiel. 

Hindi nakasagot si Xilah. Sa kabilang banda, nagpipigil ng tawa ang batang babaeng kasama nila. Xilah's look sharpened.

"What's funny?" malamig na tanong niya.

Joker showed a grin. "Looks like there's a pleasant news."

Masama kaagad ang naging pakiramdam nila. "Student, go to your guild," ani Xilah bago sumunod kay Law.

Tanging pagyuko ang nasagot ni Zeke habang pinapanood silang umalis. The three immediately followed Law who's on his way to the principal's office. Hindi nagtagal ang paglalakad nila nang marating ang pupuntahan.

Law's heart started to beat fast. Suddenly, he lost the strength to move. Behind the door, is the truth— the confirmation he wanted.

If ever... that the news he heard is true... can he take it?

Napalunok siya nang malalim, piniling buksan ang pinto at magdasal... magdasal na mali lang ang balita.

Pero nang masilayan niya ang iilang pamilyar na mga mukha na walang tigil sa pag-iyak, ang hindi maipintang mukha ng principal, ang mabigat na tensyon sa silid... alam na niya... alam na niya ang sagot.
