Chapter 09

"I am so happy the wedding happened the way we planned without any issues," said Devi relaxing.

Guptas and Raizadas were sitting in the living area of Raizada's house after the wedding. All the guests have left and it was only the immediate family.

Shyam was sitting there like a king. He thought Guptas took his threat seriously and it was the reason for their closed mouths. Never in his dreams, he thought his own brother-in-law is behind this silence.

"Devi Ji, we will be leaving for Lucknow tonight. We have everything packed and will leave straight from here. But I have a favour to ask you. Can Khushi stay here tonight? Initially, we planned to leave Khushi here but unforeseen circumstances happened and now she will come too. But since this was very last minute, we couldn't find a ticket for her. She will have her ticket arranged for tomorrow. But since I have already given the notice to my landlord, he won't let her stay there and even if he does, we don't want to leave her all alone in that house" Said Madhu.

"We are family now. Khushi is more than welcome to stay here as long as she wishes. But I am a little worried. If you were planning to leave her here, where was she initially planning to stay? Please don't mind me asking this. I have no issues with Khushi staying here but just out of curiosity" Said Devi.

Madhu was speechless. She was initially planning on getting Khushi married to Shyam today itself and then Khushi was his responsibility.

"Actually Dadi Ji, Khushi was planning on staying with Preeto, her friend. But at the very last minute, she had to leave out of the city with her husband. So now Khushi has no place for the night" Payal lied saving her Aunt.

"But, why Khushi Ji is going to Lucknow? She has a life here. Don't mind, I like Lucknow but her life will be limited over there. She has more scope here in Delhi to do something with herself." Said Anjali not wanting her potential sister-in-law to leave them.

"I agree bitiya, but we have already given up the house and Khushi has no one else she can stay with. And she is a girl, so we can't just leave her anywhere" said Mr Gupta

"Uncle Ji, aren't we family? Why don't Khushi move in with us? Payal is here so Khushi will have her sister with her too. And we all love Khushi so she will be happy here" suggested Anjali.

Khushi was taken aback. She did not want to leave Delhi. She loved here, as Anjali said she can do something with her life here. The only reason she agreed to go with Guptas was because of Shyam. If it was not for the events that took place that morning, she would have convinced Guptas to let her live in Delhi. But now even she is afraid to live alone. Shyam cannot be trusted.

However, Khushi liked Anjali's idea. She will be under the same roof as her sister. So they both can take care of each other. Shyam will be there too and it will be easier to gather proof against him if she is here. Last but not least she felt protected and secure because she knew Arnav is there. He has never promised her that he will protect her nor has she ever asked him. But this unspoken bond they have has given her that assurance.

After numerous no's and but's and what's finally Guptas agreed. Payal and Khushi hugged each other. They are going to be living under the same roof again.

Anjali and Devi were happy because that will give Arnav and Khushi a chance to bond. 

However, there were pairs of eyes standing near the top of the stairs who wanted to hug his sister so hard. Arnav was coming down when he heard Madhu saying Khushi will be leaving Delhi for good and he couldn't help but feel sad, he felt like someone is snatching something that belonged to him. He felt the same anger he felt when he heard Shyam wanted to sleep with Khushi.
