Chapter 06

"Who do you think you are Mr. Raizada? Do you even know what we had to go through? We were nearly homeless if it was not for a noble person. You could have come to me and asked me nicely to move my vehicle. I was actually coming to move it when I saw Anjali Ji and I had to stop"

"ENOUGH" shouted Arnav not interested in hearing her story. "Who do I think of me? Who do you think you are Miss. Gupta. You had the nerve to talk back that day. Getting that fine was just the beginning. I wanted to destroy you but you were lucky I couldn't find you. But looks like all those prayers didn't work in your favor after all. I finally found you. No one, I mean NO ONE DARED TO TALK TO ME LIKE THE WAY YOU DID THAT DAY" Arnav was on fire. A whole month's frustration was now coming out. He started walking towards Khushi without breaking the eye lock. He almost killed Khushi by his looks.

For each step he took, Khushi took one step back without knowing what else to do. She can't run because the pantry cabinets were on her right and the kitchen island was on her left. Arnav was in front of her and then "thud" she hit the back wall. She was trapped. Physically she was trapped by Arnav and mentally she was trapped in his eyes.

He put his hands on each side of her trapping her more. But the whole time, his eyes were on hers.

"A,,a,,rna...a...v...Ji, w,,h,,a,,t a,,r,,e,,,yo,,u,,d,,,oi,,ng" She stammered.

Hearing his name from her mouth for the first time, Arnav was a little taken aback. He knew his anger is coming down and is getting replaced with an unknown emotion. Was it care, was it excitement, was it sympathy? or was it something else? Only time will tell.

Both were lost in the eyes of each other. Arnav saw how beautiful her eyes were for the first time. She was cute. At the same time fearless. She was gentle but at the same time strong. She is no ordinary girl. She is a lioness and Arnav felt only he has the right to tame her. That feared him. He has never felt anything like that before. He knew the walls he build up around him for the past 13 years slowly breaking and he couldn't let that happen. After all, he is Arnav Singh Raizada who writes his own destiny.

"Miss. Khushi Kumari Gupta, I am warning you, BE READY TO FACE MY WRATH. YOU MADE THE GREATEST MISTAKE OF YOUR LIFE BY MESSING WITH ME. I WILL NOW SHOW YOU WHO AM I?" Arnav said weighing each word.

"Mr. Arnav Singh Raizada, BRING IT ON but for now, stop misbehaving with me" is all that she said. That was enough for him to understand she was a hard nut to crack. She was immune to his wrath. Was she masking her fears? If yes, then she was a damn good actor for sure.

"Misbehave? I haven't even started to misbehave yet Miss. Gupta. Shall I show you what misbehave means" saying that Arnav put his left hand around her waist and pulled her towards him. They were so close not even wind could pass. She could feel his breath on her face. His eyes were still fixed on hers. 

He hardened the grip making Khushi whisper his name in pleading "Arnav Ji, please". Arnav who was burning in anger was shocked. He did not expect this reaction from her. Khushi herself didn't expect this reaction from her. He loosened his grip yet continued to hold her.

She could have easily moved away now, he could have easily let go of her. But both of them felt they didn't want to leave each other. Some unspoken emotion was pulling them together.

He was about to touch the strand of hair that came out covering her eye when his phone rang. The sudden sound bought both of them back to reality. Arnav quickly let go of her and moved to the side while Khushi quickly ran out of the kitchen taking the opportunity.

As soon as she left the kitchen she started breathing. What was that? Khushi was shocked. She now realized all this while she was holding her breath.

What scared her the most was she actually enjoyed that encounter. Khushi, who always ran away from men, actually enjoyed her encounter with Arnav.

Shyam Ji was her friend now but she never let him even touch her hand. Once he accidentally toucher her finger and she was terrified. But this guy, he not only touched her, but he was literally embracing her and she felt protected. He was warning her that he would ruin and she actually wanted to be ruined by him. She wanted him to misbehave with her. She felt comfortable when he tightened his grip around her waist as if it was his right. She actually felt disappointed when he let go of her. What is happening to her?

Arnav on the other hand was lost too. He can't believe what just happened a few minutes ago. A phone call from Aman actually saved the day. He knew what he was feeling and if Aman didn't call him he might have ended up kissing Khushi. He feared this feeling. He didn't know what came to him but he felt he has the right over her. A possessiveness suddenly clouded Arnav. Would he be comfortable if another man was in his place a few minutes back? The answer was clear. He would have killed that person right there. What is happening to him?

He quickly cleaned up and went to the living room. He was a bit nervous if someone ask why they took so long. For the first time in his life, Arnav was nervous. Khushi felt the same nervousness. She looked at Arnav as if asking him the same question and he looked at her giving nothing but a blank expression.

For both Arnav and Khushi it felt like hours but in reality, it was not even 10 mins.

"Ok, then we'll have all the pre-wedding rituals within the two weeks and at the end of the second week, we'll have the wedding" Said Devi as it is no use to delay the wedding. Madhu has shared with them about her plans to move back to Lucknow and Devi thought delaying the wedding will affect her plans. Madhu made sure not to share her plans for Khushi though.

Devi thought Madhu and Khushi both will be moving back to Lucknow and thought she can later go to Lucknow with Khushi's hand for Arnav. Devi didn't want to rush as she wanted to make sure both Arnav and Khushi are happy with each other than forcing them. She once lost her daughter to a forced marriage because her son-in-law ended up being a jerk. So she is not ready to lose her grandson or ruin Khushi's life.

Everyone said their good bye's and Raizada's left Gupta house promising to meet the next day for the first pre-wedding ritual.

Arnav looked at Khushi for one last time before leaving the Gupta house. She blushed, and Khushi Kumari Gupta actually blushed. Arnav who was expecting her to either ignore him or give him the finger was taken back. He mouthed a simple bye to her and left. The great Arnav Singh Raizada was speechless. Anjali saw this and poked her Grandma.

"Dadi looks like the train is finally leaving the station. "

"The destination is a long way Anjali," said Devi and both of them left the place.
