CHAPTER 30.

"So what is the interview about ?" Lorenzo wondered while Kyrie was pushing his wheelchair forward.

"I honestly don't know, Barbara told me she had an interview ready for me. I'm sorry I can't be at your PT session, I know it's important to you especially since-"

"Don't worry woman, there will be more appointments. I'm not getting rid of rehab soon." He chuckled, Kyrie sighed.

She was supposed to go to Lorenzo his appointment today together with Amiri, but Barbara made it her mission to chase Kyrie and arranged an interview to give her a taste of the life.

"Promise me you will call me the moment you are done ?" She asked as they stopped at the bench in the park where they were supposed to meet up with Amiri.

"Amiri is going to be with me, don't worry. Everything will be fine." Lorenzo assured her, she couldn't help but to feel guilty for choosing the interview over his rehab session.

"I'm running late, Amiri isn't here yet." Kyrie sighed looking at the time on her phone.

"Go, he will be here in a minute. You know he had classes." Lorenzo said.

"Are you sure ?"

"Yes, just go. Good luck on your first real interview." He wiggled his eyebrows.

"Alright, please let me know if everything goes well."

"Yeah yeah, see you later." He waved her off, Kyrie bent down to give him a side hug before she left. Lorenzo watched her walk away, he did feel slightly disappointed she wasn't going to be there since he might walk for the first time today. But he didn't want to stand in the way of her career.

Not even 5 minutes later, Amiri arrived.

"Wassup brother." Amiri bent down and gave Lorenzo a brotherly hug.

"Where's my wife ?" Amiri wondered looking confused.

"She had an interview with that Barbara lady, I told her it was okay to go. Don't worry." Lorenzo nodded, Amiri might be the only one seeing through the boy his lies. He could see it wasn't okay, and he could see Lorenzo needed Kyrie to tag along.

"Alright." Amiri decided to drop it for now and show his emotional support, he was going to talk to Kyrie later.

As they arrived at the hospital building, Lorenzo let out a nervous sigh. He knew he was about to get the question if he wanted to walk today, and he was nervous.

Lorenzo was doing good through the whole PT, even though it was still hard. Everything in his legs and back was sore.

"You show great progress, I will take a look at your scars and after that we will try to stand up and walk. Small steps and on your own tempo alright ?" The doctor asked looking at Lorenzo.

"Actually can we wait till next week with walking ?" Lorenzo asked and Amiri looked confused.

"Of course, can I ask why ?" The doctor wondered.

"I kinda want my friend to be here when I start walking again." Lorenzo said, Amiri couldn't help but feel a type of anger in his chest. No way in hell should Lorenzo wait with his progress because Kyrie couldn't stick to her promise of coming with him and instead left for an interview.
