Chapter Nine

Harry's Point of View

I was chatting about why kittens should always wear hats, when Louis suddenly froze next to me.

"Lou?" I asked, concerned.

He was staring at something across the street, his face pale.

I followed his gaze, and my muscles went tense when I spotted what he was looking at. Or rather, who.

Louis' dad was standing outside of a shop, leaning casually against the wall. He was smirking at my Louis with an evil glint in his eyes.

I felt my blood boil. I don't think so. He wouldn't mess with Louis again.

Before I could do anything, his father shifted his eyes to me. His smirk widened, and he looked back to Louis.

I heard a whimper escape Louis' lips, and it just fueled my fury toward his dad even more.

Louis suddenly froze completely in horror when his phone started ringing. I was confused until I looked over to see his dad with his phone pressed against his ear, watching us.

Louis shakily pulled out his phone and pushed the answer button.

I took it out of his hands, and put it on speaker. I heard a dark chuckle from the other line.

"What do you want?" I growled into the phone, surprising even myself at how scary my voice sounded.

"Listen Louis," his dad spoke lowly, ignoring my question.

"W-W-What?" Louis stuttered.

I looked up to see his dad grinning maliciously. A growl escaped my lips.

"Here's the deal, boy," his dad continued. "You find a way to pay me however much money I tell you once every month."

"O-Or what?" Louis whispered, knowing there would be a threat.

Louis started trembling violently at the next words that left his father's mouth.

"Do it... or curly there will take your punishment, and worse, and whatever happens to him will be your fault Louis."

Louis started shaking his head in despair. "No," he whispered, pain filling his voice. "Please no,"

His dad snapped, "That's the deal, boy. Do we have an agreement?"

"W-When do I have to have the first payment?" Louis asked, giving in.

His dad chuckled in victory, and said, "Tomorrow." Then he stated the price, making Louis' face drop. That was a lot of money.

Louis gasped. "No! No, I can't get it by tomorrow!"

"Well then I guess you should probably apologize ahead of time for what will happen to your boyfriend."

"No! Leave him a-alone! I'll get the money..." he whispered the last part defeatedly.

"Yes, you will." his dad snapped, then the line went dead.

I looked up to see that he wasn't there anymore.

Louis was shaking harshly, and I felt my heart rip in two when tears gathered in his eyes.

"Louis," I whispered.

"I don't have the money." he spoke, his voice laced with pain.

"I-"
