" I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride" The pastor announced as Nina kissed her new spouse.

Sabrina couldn't help but beam at the sight of the two lovebirds. It was nice to see love in action, being expressed so beautifully.

She reconciled with the fact that romantic love wasn't for her. It had been way easier to navigate companionship by defining it as fun and sex only.

So far, it had been successful. It seemed that each man she had encountered got the hint and surprisingly respected the boundaries she set.

As the wedding party congregated in the nearby hall in the resort, Sabrina witnessed the least shocking sight: Mena and her 'ex', Leo locked into a passionate embrace after arguing a few moments before.

She knew Mena was doing up " unbothered by my ex" attitude but that ultimately switched when he got just an inch of her attention. Though their relationship had been a toxic back and forth since sixth form, Sabrina always recognized that they had an undeniable connection.

She moved around to the table where Azani sat with her usual worried expression, probably thinking about the guy she was seeing.

"What's up with you?" Sabrina questioned, sitting next to her.

" Brina, did you think I'm making a mistake by entertaining this guy? I just feel...ugh...I don't know how to say it" Azani ran her hands through her ginger locks.

"Babe, you know yourself and know what your gut telling is you"

" I know, I know but I just feel...so.....you know.....like it's hard to leave him alone"

" I get what you're saying but don't have him making you look silly. You're not worth that"

"I hear you, I hear you"

" Plus, there are so many guys that would want to be with you. Like have you seen yourself? He doesn't know what he's got, honestly most of them never do. Now come here" She held out her arms for Azani, who fell into the warm hold.

Out of the three friends, Azani was more or less a hopeless romantic that rarely got lucky with any guy she got to know. It was hard for Sabrina to see her friend so upset about a guy she knew was just a waste of time and even though she normally would've encouraged something casual, she ultimately knew that Azani wasn't built like that. It was better to ease her worries by giving comfort, which seemed to work every time.

The sound of a notable funk song came on, drawing the guests to the dancefloor. As people danced the night away, Sabrina and Azani took the opportunity to watch the sunset near the beach.

No words were needed as they enjoyed the view, taking in the beauty of sea waves hitting the golden sands.

Soft footfalls could be heard approaching them, both of them turned around to see a smiling Mena coming towards them.

" Girlies, I'm lost in the sauce that is Leo. This back is getting blown out tonight" Mena grinned passionately, hugging her knees.

"She's acc goneeeee! Look at her! I can't believe that you guys got back together for what is the fif-fourth time....?" Sabrina cocked her head at her.

" Sixth time..." She mumbled, making them chuckle.

" Well, at least you know where home is" Azani stated.

" Azani!" They both remarked.

" The streets are not worth it, at least you have someone that wants you"

"Azani, you'll get yours. Don't worry, love" Sabrina hugged Azani and Mena joined in.

"Plus you know how Leo and I are, it has always been a back-and-forth ting with us. Who really knows how this will end for us anyway. I'm just happy that he gets to be in some familiar walls, if you know what I mean?" Mena raised her brows knowingly, making the girls laugh.

"Yeah, yeah, I hear you. What about you, Sabrina? You mentioned some guy you saw, remember ?"

" Yeah, the one we played the volleyball game with? He was dark skin with tattoos, so fucking sexy ugghhh. I need him right now. You see the way he was eyeing me up during the game?"

" Eyes were glued to those cheeks, like he was gonna bark if you shake them a little" Mena giggled, hi-fiving an equally amused Sabrina.

" You guys are not serious! But yes, his eyes clocked how your body was bodying on the court, he didn't know what to do with himself" Azani chuckled.

As the girls carried on hanging out, Sabrina couldn't help but be grateful for the friends she had. It wasn't easy getting through her mother's death or her break up with her ex, those were easily two of the hardest points in her life so far and she was grateful that they were always there for her. She could really count on their everlasting support.

She really couldn't be happier.
