The blonde elf had found her way upstairs, needing a break from the ruckus downstairs. It made her miss the peaceful and quiet kingdom of Mirkwood. Serenity.

"Thank you for your kindness with them," she spoke aloud, thanking the human as he followed into the room behind her. Closing the door quietly.

"I didn't do it for them," Bard whispered, nimbly moving the hair from her back and to her shoulder.

"How did I know you would say that?" she wondered aloud, feeling his hands rest on her shoulders. Her head leant back, resting back on him.

"I think because you know in hindsight I would do anything for you," he told her, gazing at her, his fingers intwined in her sunlight strands. Strands which had been in his hands hundreds of times before, yet they had never felt so foreign... looked and smelt so different.

It instilled a deep fear within him. Simbelmynë was different in so many ways, he could not help but worry what else was different.

The elf smiled distantly, spinning to face him. Her fingers danced over his bearded face, whispering, "a dangerous quality to have."

The humans dark eyes gazed down at the elf, mesmerised by her bright silver eyes. The look in them unnervingly unfamiliar.

"I missed you Bel," he whispered back, leaning in closer until their foreheads touched. He could only watch in dejection as her gaze faltered, her cheek twitching as his lips fell upon it.

"I missed you as well," she muttered under her breath, leaning slightly away from him. Slightly, and yet enough to notice.

Bard frowned, his hands dropping to his sides. He stepped back, arms crossing, "tell me what happened... please,"

"I told you it does not matter,"

His eyes grew weary, "it matters enough for you to shy from me..."

"I am not," Simbelmynë denied, stepping to him, hands reaching for his arms to console him.

"I am no fool, Bel," Bard reminded the elf, moving away from her once more and beginning to pace the room. His finger raised, he continue, "you and I have been with one another for many years, I would like to think I know you by now,"

"A few years be a mere blink for my kind..."

"And was it?" The human quizzed, stopping in front of her once more. His shoulders raised and lowered heavily, the stress filling his whole body. Surely he knew one day this conversation would happen when she finally found what she was looking for? Though maybe part of him believed she never would. All her beliefs were simply false, imaginary, non-existent.

"No," she whispered, gazing up at him, "you have made such a time of darkness that much brighter for me. You know that,"

Sighing loudly, Bard gave in, sitting on his bed and looking to the floor, "we helped each other... I don't know how I could have raised three children by myself,"

"There is no other way I would have wanted to spend my years," she declared, wandering to where he sat. The elf's nimble and pale hands fell to the sides of his face.
