Gracies POV (6 Years Old)

"My parents are driving me insane" Jennie complained as we all packed our things away in our backpacks,

"Being a kid sucks" I agreed "you just have to do what the adults tell you or you get in trouble" I added and Jennie nodded in agreement,

"Just tell them no" Ali shrugged and Jennie and I frowned at her suggestion,

"I don't think my brothers would like that to much" I told her and Jennie nodded in agreement,

"Sure they'll be angry at first" Ali agreed "but if you stand your ground they'll eventually give up and stop asking you" she added and Jennie and I shared a look,

"Really?" Jennie asked unconvinced,

"Trust me" Ali nodded "that's what I did and now my mom doesn't even bother asking me to do stuff anymore" she said. Just then I saw Jays truck pull to a stop in front of the school,

"That's Jay" I announced as I threw my backpack over my shoulder "see you on Monday" I added as I ran over and jumped in,

"Hey" Jay greeted once I jumped in and watched me clip in my seatbelt,

"Hey" I replied as he drove away from the school,

"Good day?" He asked and I shrugged,

"It was fine" I said "you need to sign this permission slip to go to this really cool museum in a couple of weeks" I informed him and he nodded,

"Did you get a letter?" He asked and I nodded,

"It's in my bag" I told him,

"I'll have a proper look when we get home" he said before the car filled with a comfortable silence.

Once we did eventually arrive home I made a bee line for the sofa,

"Twenty minutes Gracie then I want you to make a start on your homework" Jay said and I gave a grumble in reply. I sat and watched twenty minutes of some random show before Jay spoke from the kitchen "turn that off and get some homework done now please" he instructed. Urgh. Time to test Alis theory,

"No" I said as I kept my attention on the TV,

"Excuse me?" A slightly shocked looking Jay said as he moved to look at me "care to repeat that?" He dared,

"I said no" I repeated, my confidence wavering slightly,

"Very funny" he frowned "now get your butt off the couch and do your homework" he said firmly,

"No" I said again,

"Do you have no other words now?" He asked "you sound like a toddler. Pack it in and do as you're told" he ordered,

"N-" I was about to reply,

"I don't wanna hear the word no come out of your mouth one more time. Move" he demanded,

"I'm not gonna do it" I defied,

"What's gotten in to you?" He asked with a firm frown "c'mon, don't make me ask you again" he urged,

"Or what?" I challenged,

"Or I get you off that sofa myself and you don't sit comfortably for the rest of the week" he threatened and I narrowed my eyes at him "you wanna test me?" He challenged. I stared at him in a bid to make him budge but I was out of luck. With an annoyed groan I got off the sofa and began to storm off to my room,

"OW" I screeched as my hands flew back to rub out the sting that covered my butt "Jayyy" I whined,

"Go do your homework" he pointed to my room "and if I where you I'd think about changing that attitude before you come back out here" he added.
