Gracies POV (11 Years Old)

"Please Will" I whined as we walked in to the ED "I'm old enough to stay home without you and Jay" I exclaimed for the hundredth time,

"You're eleven years old Gracie, you can't stay home without an adult" he replied with a weary sigh once we reached the doctors lounge,

"But it's boring here" I complained "why can't I go to work with Jay like I normally do?" I frowned,

"Because he's working a really serious case at the minute" he explained as I dramatically flopped on to the couch "now you know the rules, you don't leave this room unless you need the bathroom or it's an emergency in which case what do you do?" He asked causing me to roll my eyes slightly,

"Find you and if I can't find you find an adult I know" I replied in a monotone voice.

"Ok, do you need anything before I go?" He asked and I shook my head silently "stay out of trouble" he said as he left the doctors lounge. I huffed as I looked around for something to do; I grabbed my backpack and rummaged through to find something of interest eventually choosing to read some of my current book 'Harry Potter and The Sorcerers Stone.'

I read a few chapters of my book before I became bored once again. I closed the book and returned it to my backpack with a frustrated sigh. I looked out of the window into the ER and saw Will at one of the computers so I decided to go and ask him if he would get my iPad out of his locker. I left the doctors lounge and walked over to my brother,

"Willll" I said as I leant on the desk next to him "can you please get my iPad out of your locker?" I asked as my brothers gaze shifted from the computer to me,

"Not right now Gracie I'm busy" he said as he returned his attention to the computer,

"But I'm boreddddd" I whined as I slung my head back dramatically,

"Gracie" Will warned "go back to the break room and when I come for lunch I'll get it for you" he said in a bid to get me out of the way.

"But what am I meant to do now?" I complained,

"Read a book? Do your homework? I'm sure you'll find something" he said,

"Homework is no fun and I've already read my book" I informed,

"Go back to the break room" he instructed firmly causing my frown to deepen,

"I don't understand why you can't just get it for me now" I complained again "please Will" I pleaded once again,

"Gracie, I said later" he frowned "now do as your told" he ordered,

"F**k you" I muttered as I began to walk away,

"Gracelyn Halstead get back over here" Will said with a raised voice causing me to stop in my tracks. I didn't mean for him to hear me! "What did you just say to me?" He asked in a quiet voice, almost daring me to repeat myself,

"Nothing" I replied sheepishly causing him to raise his eyebrow at me,

"Don't lie to me Gracelyn" he warned causing my stomach to do summer salts "what did you say to me?" He repeated himself,

"F**k you" I repeated in a much quieter voice than before. There was a short silence before Will spoke,

"Go to the break room and stay there Gracelyn and you can forget having your iPad back" he said firmly causing me to whine,
