I groaned as the bell rang singling the start of the school day. Urgh. Why does school have to be a thing? I walked in and sat down at my desk as everyone did there best to look as interested as possible in what the teacher was saying. Alex walked in, late as usual, and took his seat right behind me; purposefully whacking me in the head as he swung his backpack off of his back,
"Do you mind" I exclaimed quietly as I turned towards him slightly,
"What, about your face? No I don't mind at all, I just can't look at it for long periods of time" he snarled back with a cocky smirk plastered on his face. I rolled my eyes and did my best to bite my tongue and not make a smart comment back.
The lesson dragged on and eventually the bell rang and everybody grabbed there stuff to move to the next class,
"So how's the big brothers Halstead?" Alex asked me as he caught up to me in the hallway,
"What'd you care?" I growled back,
"Ok ok, I'm just trying to be friendly" he held his hands up in mock surrender "I can see the apple doesn't fall far from the rotten tree" he laughed and I stopped in my tracks,
"What did you say?" I frowned angrily "just because my brother busted your dads ass doesn't make him a rotten person" I defended,
"Alex Pierce and Gracelyn Halstead" our teacher shouted from the classroom "you both have ten seconds before you are late and land yourselves both a detention" she shouted and we both made haste to enter the classroom. I could feel Alex's eyes burn in to the side of my face throughout the lesson. I hate that kid! Who the hell does he think he is.
The rest of the day passed by at a agonisingly slow pace and now we had gym. Yay. Could you sense my sarcasm then? I got changed with the rest of the girls in to my gym stuff before walking out on to the soccer field where the teacher and a few of the boys where already waiting.

"Alright guys" the coach began "I'm gonna split you in to two teams and you can decide between yourselves who is the goalie and the captain. I expect now that your older to all show some maturity and responsibility when doing this" he said before calling out names. Great. I'm in the same team as Alex.
