12 - Reunited

You were walking to your chambers looking around everywhere for him, nothing.

As you opened the door to your chambers you were surprised, almost startled by Jon standing right there in your room.

He was facing the window and turned around at the sound of you quickly getting inside and shutting the door behind you.

"Seven hells Jon if anyone had seen you", you started. But before you could finish your story he walked up to you, pushed you against the door and crashed his lips into yours.

Your whole body instantly filled itself with joy and your stomach fluttered. Nothing felt better than this.

He pulled back from the kiss, cupped your face in his hands and looked at you warmly. "How I've missed you". He laughed softly and you smiled back at him.

"I don't understand, what is happening?". You were still so confused about Jon being the new lord commander.

He responded in between kisses, "You're coming with me back to the wall". He pulled back and smiled, he looked happy.

You giggled, "No I got that". He smiled and walked around the room. "I saw your hawk, you didn't tell me he was that big". You raised an eyebrow at him and put your hand in your side.

"You're avoiding my question Snow". He walked up to you and grabbed your hands gently. "Alright then", he looked serious. "Ask me your questions".

"Are you the lord commander?", Jon looked happy and concerned at the same time. "Yes, I am the new lord commander". You couldn't believe it.

"Gods that's amazing! Well done!". You laughed and gave him a hug.

He laughed back and let out a sigh of relief. Suddenly you realized, you pulled back from the hug and looked him in his eyes.

"What happened to Mormont".

Jon's expression changed suddenly, "We went on an expedition beyond the wall and when we got to Crasters keep..". He paused and took a deep breath in. "There was a mutiny and lord commander Mormont was killed".

You felt your heart sink into your chest. You put your hands over your mouth and felt the tears welling up. Jon pulled you into a hug.

You sat on your bed until dinner. Jon comforted you as you processed what you just heard. When it was time to go to the dining hall he left the room first to not be detected.

You gathered yourself and changed into dinner appropriate clothes. You took your locket from under your clothes and held it in your hand.

You could've swore you saw the same orange hue coming from it, but every time you tried to look closer it seemed to disappear.

You went to the dining hall and ate your dinner talking to Ned. You told him about lord commander Mormont and he felt sorry for you.

He told you that maybe it was a good thing that you got to go back to the wall for a while now, to process the loss.

You agreed, talking to Ned really helped whenever you felt homesick or alone.

After dinner was finished you talked some things over with the king about your departure in the morning.

He patted you on the shoulder, "How lucky I am that I found you". You smiled. "I'm confident you'll bring back some talent from the wall".

He smiled and walked away. You started walking towards the doors as well but you were stopped by Jon's voice.

"Alena Waters?", you turned around and saw him walking towards you. "I believe we need to discuss some matters before leaving for the wall tomorrow", he winked. "Would you mind if I walked you to your chambers?", you smiled back. "Not at all lord commander".

You walked out of the dining hall together. On the way to your chambers you talked about leaving tomorrow and the journey up ahead, trying to come across as if you actually had to. When you got to your chambers you stopped in front of your door.

"Well thank you lord commander", you said jokingly. Jon looked around to see if there was anyone watching. The hallway was empty.

He laughed and pushed the door open, pushing you inside with it and closing the door behind you quickly.

You started laughing, "What if anyone saw us?". Jon grabbed you by your waist and put his forehead against yours. "I think it's perfectly normal for the lord commander and the kings personal guard to have a little chat don't you?". He said jokingly.

"Chatting yes but I don't believe it's custom they sleep together", you joked back. He pulled back and put his index finger to his lips.

"I won't tell if you don't".

You laughed and he kissed you deeply, oh how you've missed him.

"You have to leave before the morning", you said while he lifted you up. "Mhmm", he laid you down on the bed and bended over you. "Jon I'm serious", you tried to sound as stern as you could.

"Don't worry, it'll be fine", he smiled and kissed you again. You gave up, he got the message.

The next morning you woke up just before the sunrise, you opened your eyes slowly and sat straight up.

You looked around and to your surprise saw Jon lying next to you. That man.

You shook his shoulders, "My gods Jon you said you would". His lips formed a smile while still having his eyes closed.

In a low sleepy voice he said, "My fault".

"It's not funny come on you have to leave before anyone sees you", you couldn't help but laugh a little while you said it.

You were shaking his shoulders for him to wake up and do something until he did. He grabbed you and pulled you close to him. He kissed you but you pulled back, "Jooonnn".

"Alright you win". He got up and got dressed quickly, kissed you goodbye and went out into the hallway as quiet as he could.

The door closed behind him and you let yourself fall onto the bed again.

You couldn't help but smile, he made you happy.

You got up and got dressed as well, quickly packed the last of your stuff and headed to the stables.

You were readying Narah for the ride when Sansa came walking in.

"I heard you're leaving for the wall", she walked up to you. You gave her a hug.

"I am, I have to go and recruit new soldiers". You sighed and Sansa giggled. "Exiting", she said jokingly.

You talked for a while about the wall and how Sansa would be left with Joffrey and the Lannisters here. You promised you would come back soon to be there for her and you said your goodbyes.

When it was time to leave you got up on your horse and rode through the gates of the red keep again, this time you were riding next to Jon.

Behind you were the men of the watch and a couple of kings guard soldiers, they were coming with you. You didn't check who they were but there were a few amongst them you hadn't seen before.

You were told there was an archer in the kings guard and that he came back to the capital from his mission to come to the wall with you.

The king came to see you off along with everyone else. Arya was sad to see you go but you promised you would be back to see how much progress she had made with her sword.

She had been thrilled to see Jon so him leaving so soon again was another disappointment for her.

You promised Ned you would keep an eye on Jon and because you were making a brief stop in Winterfell again, you would send his best to the Starks at home.

You rode out of kings landing with Jon by your side and your hawk flying over your head. You felt good.

You were going home.
