We all start walking towards the supply shed first, to grab some more tools before heading off to the Gardens.

"You'll need this shovel, and perhaps this rake, Tommy," Newt says while giving them to Thomas.

Thomas nods.

"Do you guys hear that?" Chuck says walking in from outside.

"Hear wha—" I say before getting interrupted by a familiar sound.

"Hey— I know that sound," Thomas says.

Chuck's face shoots up with realization. "That's the box!" He runs outside.

I feel my own eyes widen. I look at Newt who seems to have the same expression as me.

He looks back at me and nods his head towards the door. We both run out, Thomas close behind.

We approach the Box and there are already other Gladers there surrounding it.

"What's going on?" I ask Gally.

"You think I have a clue!?" He responds, focusing on the box.

I shrug my shoulders.

The automatic doors begin to open.

"Everyone back up," Frypan says. I stand still, too curious to move. "That includes you, Teddy."

I roll my eyes but follow directions.

Gally and Newt pull the crate doors open. Newt hops inside.

"Well, Newt?" I say, itching to see what's in there.

I step closer and others do the same.

"It's— a girl," Newt says with his facial expression with pure shock.

"Finally!" I exclaim.

I hear Frypan and a few others chuckle.

All around me Gladers break into quiet chatter.

"She's kinda hot."

"Dibs!"

... Are some things I heard.

"Would you slim it, shanks!" I say annoyed.

New looks up at me. "I think she's dead..."

The crowd groans with disappointment.

"What's in her hand?" Gally points out.

Newt looks down at her hand and reveals a paper.

"She's the last one... ever," he reads aloud.

Confusion floods over me, struggling to think of what could be the case.

"Well what the hell does that mean?" Newt says.

All of a sudden the girl awakes, gasping for air. "Thomas!" She says in between pants, before falling back into unconsciousness.

Everyone turns to look at Thomas, including me. His face has the same expression as Newt from moments earlier.

"Thomas?" Gally asks. "Do you know her?"

"I— no," he replies.

Gally scoffs. "Uh huh. Is that so? Then how come she seems to know you!?"

"I have no idea! I don't even recognize her!" He says defensively.

"Cut it out guys," Newt says. "Clint and Jeff, get her to the Med Jack Hut."

Clint and Jeff, along with the help of other Gladers, start carrying the girl to the Med Jack Hut.

"Welp, that was a big surprise," I say, helping Newt out of the box.

"No kidding," he replies. "Don't you think it's kinda, I dunno, odd."

"What do you mean?" We start walking towards Homestead.

"You know, Thomas just got here yesterday. I mean, I don't think he has anything to do with this, but-," I cut him off before he can finish.

"I know. I get it. It does seem strange."

He nods.

I sigh and laugh out, "I'm just happy I'm no longer the only girl!"

He chuckles. "Well good that."
