Chapter 7

That Dream 1

“How was your shower?” He asked as if nothing happened.

“I have to talk to you.” I said.

“What is it?”

“We can’t go on like this. This is very wrong.” I said without looking at him.

“If you want me to stop doing it, I’ll stop.” He said.

“No, that’s not what I meant.”

“What, you don’t want me to stop?”

“No. I think we better stop seeing each other.”

He fell silent.

I looke dup. his face was dim, and jaws were tight.

“You can ask me anything but not this.” He said. He seemed to be so much in pain.

“I think it’s best.” I said.

He stood up.

“If that’s what you want.” He said.

“Where’s Grey?” My mother asked when she arrived.

“he left early.” I lied.

“why don’t you call him and invite him to dinner?” She asked.

“Why would I do that?” I asked.

“because he must be lonely inside that house.”

“Lonely? I’m sure he’s got his parents with him.”

“Dean, his parents are in New York. He’s living alone.”

I was taken aback.

Why would he live alone in this small town when he can have everything in New York?

“Call him Dean.” I overheard my mother.

I sighed. I invited him but it turned out that he’s gonna pass.

After that day, he started to become elusive. I could barely see him around the school.

During our classes, he seems to be so cold and distant. He was a complete opposite of what he was before.
