restarting?

what would you think if i were to restart this entire fic?

the problem is that i started writing this when i was 12, and im now 17. a lot of the plot points in early chapters just dont make sense to me anymore and i despise the way i made some of the characters act.

i love the more recent chapters, but i think the reason ive been unable to write for so long is because im doting on all the things i regret. i could just start a new fic entirety and forget this one, but im really quite attached to it PLUS i have so much planned for this particular fic.

i could start a new book and repost these chapters once ive tweaked them, or i could just edit the chapters in this book. im not going to change anything huge, so you wouldn't necessarily need to reread the chapters to understand whats happening.

i feel like a fresh slate would be so nice and make it easier for me, but i also dont want to lose all my votes and comments and views. i think it might be worth losing them because i need a true fresh start, but i really dont know because it took me so long to get to this point.

i honestly have no idea if im making sense - its 3am and i have to wake up at 7am for school. so please excuse me if this is confusing and lmk if it is and i'll explain better.

keep the same book and just edit the chapters?
