"Bataiyena kaka!" Bela urged Trilochan kaka to say.
"Humara Anirudh pehle aisa nhi tha, bahu ke jaane ke baad se he uska haal aisa hogya hai." Kaka said while taking off his glasses and wiping his tears.
"Lekin bhaiya ne aisa kyun kaha ki bhagwan ne unse unka sabkuch cheen liya?" Asked Bela almost immediately.
"Aisa isiliye kyunki usee lagta hai ki bhagwan ne he humari bahu ko hum sabse dur kiya hai." Replied Kaka
"Toh kya wo bhagwan se ruthe hue hain?" Bela asked innocently.
"Haan beta, jab Anirudh ki maa ka dehant hua tha tab bichara tut he gya tha par phir uski zindagi main humari bahu aayi aur usee tutne se bacha liya, usee wapis ek naya jeevan diya aur hum sab ki zindagi khushiyon se bhar di. Par phir kismat se humari khushi dekhi na gyi aur usne humari bahu ko bhi humse alag kar diya. Humara Anirudh ek baar phir usi kagaar par aakar khada hogya jispar se usee bahu ne bachaya tha, magar isbaar usee bachane ke liye koi nhi aaya. Tut he gaya humara bachcha. Zindagi ne uske saath bohot bada khilwad kiya hai par iss sabki wajah wo bhagwan ko maanta hai, kosta hai unhe ki kyun unhone uske do sabse anmol rishte usse juda kar diye. Kya kare, nadan hai, nhi samajhta ki bhagwan jo karte hain humare bhale ke liye he karte hain. Hosakta hai isme bhi uski koi achchai chupi ho?"
"Kya hum bhaiya ke liye nayi boudi nhi la sakte kaka?" Bela asked him.
Hearing this, kaka stood up. He didn't know how to react to this question. After Aradhya's loss, this thought came to his mind several times, but he dismissed it thinking that Anirudh would never agree for a second marriage and honestly, even he wasn't sure about this, he couldn't imagine any other girl in place of his beloved bahu.
"Boliye na kaka." Bela insisted.
"Nhi!" Kaka said at once.
"Par kyun?" Bela frowned.
"Kyunki koi bhi aeri-geri ladki humari bahu ki jagah nhi le sakti. Humari bahu jaisa banna koi bachchon ka gudde-gudiya ka khel nhi hai. Humari bahu jaisi gudin aur samajhdaar bhala koi ho sakti hai kya? Humari bahu mein toh Lakshmi aur Saraswati, dono ka vaas tha. Boht he pyaari bachchi thi, sabki fikr rehti thi usee, Anirudh ko toh apna bhagwan samajhkar poojti thi wo! Humare Anirudh ke gusse ko kabu karna usee bohot achche se aata tha. Sabka adab manti thi. Badon ko izzat aur chhoton ko pyaar deti thi. Iss ghar ko ekjut karke rakkha tha usne, magar uske jaane ke baad sab bikhar gaya. Humari bahu toh lakhon main ek thi. Uske jaisa bhala kon hoga?" Kaka said proudly.
"Par agar aisa koi hua toh?" Asked Bela looking straight at his face.
"Toh hum tanik bhi deri nhi karenge usee apni grihlakshmi banane mein."

"Khub shundor." A man said putting a flower in a girl's hair.
"Ishhhh! Aap bhi na!" The girl blushed.
He placed his hand on her waist and was about to kiss her when someone slapped him straight on his face and he fell to the ground with a thud.
Both of them were shocked by this sudden happening. The man stood up, looked here and there to ensure that nobody saw this embarrassing moment of him getting slapped and rubbed his cheeks. He was stunned to see the person standing in front of him.
"Tum! Tumhari himmat kaise hui mujhe thappad marne ki?" He said fuming with anger.
"Jaise tumhari himmat hui meri didi ko chot pohchane ki Debashish!" Bondita said in a strong voice.
"Ohh toh tum apne behen ke kehne par aayi ho yahan, haina? Chahti kya ho humse?" He said harshly.
"Tumhe saza dilana chahti hoon!" Bondita replied in the same harsh voice.
"Kya anap-shanap bake jaa rahi ho? Kis baat ki saza?" He asked.
"Meri didi ke pyaar ka mazak banane, uske jazbaaton ke saath khelne, dahej lene, ek patni ke hote hue dusri shaadi karne, aur meri behen ko beizzat karke gaon se nikalne ki saza!" She said confidently.
The girl seemed worried now.
"Suniye, aisa mat kariyega hum apse vinti karte hain." She said folding her hands.
"Aeee tu chup reh! Koi saza nhi dilwane wali ye! Aakhir konsa bada jurm kardiya humne?" He scolded her.
"Officer!" Bondita called and few cops entered the house.
Debashish felt a little scared seeing them. By now, his parents had also entered the scene.
"Aee ladki ye sab kya tamasha laga rakkha hai, haan?" Yelled Debashish's father on Bondita.
"Kaka aapke bete ko jail hone jaa rhi hai, bas usika tamasha chal raha hai." Bondita said casually.
"Ye kya keh rhi hai tu murkh ladki!" His mother groaned.
"She's right Mr. De-ba-sis, You are under arrest." Said the English officer.
"Par afsar sahab humare bete ne kiya kya hai?" Asked his father.
"Aapko polygamy, yani bahuvivaah, Maanhani aur dowry, yani dahej lene ke jurm main giraftar kiya jaa raha hai Mr. Debashish Basu." Interrupted Bondita.
"Ye sab toh saare log karte hain, toh humne karke konsa bada gunaah kardiya?" said Debashish babu restlessly.
"Officer arrest him." Bondita indicated the officer.
The officer came forward and handcuffed him.
"See you in court Mr. Debashish Basu, abb saare hisab whin chukta honge." She said and went away.
His family pleaded the officers to let him go but their pleadings went unheard by them. Before leaving with them, Debashish asked for their permission to talk to his father for a few minutes. He was allowed and so he took his father to a corner for a discussion.
"Dekho baba, ye mamla haath se nikalta jaa raha hai, hume kuch karna he parega." He whispered in his father's ears.
"Haan lekin karna kya hai?" His father asked.
"Mai ek namcheen Barrister ko janta hoon, wo agar humare paksh main ladenge toh jeet sirf humari he hogi. Aur main janta hoon ki uss akdu ladki ki akad bhi whi utar sakte hain." Smirked Debashish.
"Karna kya hai?"
"Aap itna karna ki uss Barrister ko sab sach mat batana, apne hisab se ek aisi kahani ghadna jime main bechara lagoon aur wo do behne gunehgaar."
"Arey tu naam toh bata!" His father lost his calm.
Just then an officer interrupted their conversation. He whispered something in his father's ears and went away with them.
