i was out at a club, minding my own business, enjoying life. that's a lie, i was drinking my sorrows away, the girl i love has been a little too close to the other guys recently, and i'm too selfish to let them have her; but i also just want her to be happy and if that means she might be with one of the other guys, then i'll let her. but i won't stop loving her
i suddenly got a call from myungho hyung, "hello!" i shouted through the loud music, i'm a bit drunk, why is he calling me, i thought as i furrowed my eyebrows. he was saying words but it was rather hard to hear with all the loud music, "wait let me go outside" i said trying to get out of the club
"hyung, what were you saying?" i said as i was finally out, "we have a problem" he repeated, "what do you mean? what problem?" i said with a confused expression, "the hotel we were staying at, the floor we were on exploded"
as soon as he said that, my blood ran cold. "what do you mean, is everyone okay? is areum alright?" i said with a serious voice, i was hiding how scared i was. "yeah we're all fine, but someone's after us and jun says they're going to be a problem" he said, i could hear shuffling in the background. i let out a relieved sigh
"where are you? what's the plan??" i said calming down a bit inside, "we're getting on a plane to l.a., we'll make a plan when we get there, tell the others" "alright see you when you get here" i hung up after that
-soonyoung's pov-
i drank a cup of wine as vernon came into the room i was in, shouting. "hyung!" "i'm over here" i said from the living room, which had a massive view of l.a., because of the huge window that brought in almost too much light, "they're coming back!" he said running into the room
"who's coming back?" i mumbled taking a sip from the cup of wine, "areum and the others, and we have a situation in our hands" he said huffing, "why are they coming back so early, they don't return for a few more days?" i said looking up at him from the couch
"the hotel they were staying at exploded" he said through heavy breaths, trying to catch his breath, "the hotel exploded!? is areum okay?" i semi-shouted standing up and looking at him at eye level, "no all of them are fine... someone is after them" he said calmly
i let out a sigh of relief, thank go she's alright, i can't imagine her getting hurt again. "who is it?" "myungho didn't get that far, that's all he told me" "we have to tell seungcheol hyung" i said with a serious tone, putting down my glass and striding out the door
areum is the single most important thing to me other than the boys. the moment i saw her in myungho's arms that very first night, i was captivated by her. obviously not in a romantic way, that came later
i fell for the way she smiled, and how happy she looked when she started doing ballet. when she was little she always said she wanted to learn how to dance ballet, and the very first time she was on able to be on point, she had the happiest face. she was so passionate about it; it broke my heart when she decided to quit. i thought that was going to be her passion for life, and it was for a long time. but after they left she became depressed and she lost that joy she had in her eyes.
she used to have a sparkle in her eyes and she lost it. the anguish i felt when i realized, i always tried my best to make her feel better. to try to bring that joy back. but i couldn't. it felt like i wasn't enough to make her happy

when we told seungcheol, he immediately started acting and doing something. he then told jihoon and started on an action plan, but we couldn't get too far because we didn't have enough information about who it was and what they wanted. all we could do was wait for them to arrive
-vernon's pov-
i got into my car and started driving as quick as possible, i got an alert from my phone that they were about an hour away from landing. so i tried to get there before they could so i can see how they are, it was convenient that the airport was forty minutes away from the house
i didn't realize when i started having feelings for areum, it just kind of happened. before we left, she was just a short little girl that i adored, but when i came back she completely changed, she grew out her hair and she matured and now she's a beautiful young woman. she's become so strong since we left. but one thing was very clear, she wasn't as happy as she used to be; she smiles less, she doesn't gave the same twinkle in her eyes as she used to when she was young. she quit everything. i'm sure the other boys' hearts also broke when we realized
i pulled up at the airport. it was a regular airport, except it had a different runway for private jets. so i made my way as quickly as possible to where they were going to land, security wasn't an issue because it was rather easy to compel the officers and staff
i watched as their plane landed and as they got out of the plane. jun came out first, his clothes were a bit dirty, must've been from the explosion. then myungho came out, he looked restless and worried. finally mingyu came out carrying areum, her arms were around his shoulders and her legs were around his torso, she looked like she was asleep. i was a bit jealous
looking down i contemplated on what i should do next, i kicked the rocks on the ground. should i wait for them to get here? should i get areum and walk them to the car? should i just walk to them and help them with the luggage?
it was quite obvious what choice i was going to make. i walked up to them and they looked at me surprised, they didn't expect me to be there. "hey are those all the bags?" i said pointing at the man holding their bags, "yeah don't worry we can take it" jun said putting a hand on my shoulder and then looking at mingyu and areum
my eyes followed the same path, she was whimpering in her sleep. i walked up to her and softly patted her back, waking her up. "hm" she hummed, "areum wake up, you landed" i said to her, "already?" she mumbled finally opening her eyes and looking around. she signaled mingyu to let her go and he slowly put her down
the sun was now setting and the most beautiful colors filled the sky. the way the orange mixed with the blue and purple, made you have this strange melancholy and euphoric feeling inside, "it's so pretty" she mumbled letting out a soft gasp as she looked up at the sky
"are you okay?" i asked her, she nodded and hugged me, it took me a moment to realize what she did. but i soon responded, holding her close to me, "come on we have to get home" i told them

a/n i kid you not i was so stuck on this chapter and then i decided to sit down and finally finish this one, but i was sonot in the mood but like i put on one of those youtube videos that show bts in a fake zoom class and like the words just started pouring out of me, and it flowed to well. word of advice, when you're not in the mood to do homework, put on that fake zoom call, it works so well
