Chapter 16, Fools

Hailey's POV

I finally arrive at the airport, I was getting real excited to see Mstt. Under normal situations I really miss him, but now with Courtney messing with him. it's an added stress I don't want to have enough  with Hunter. As i'm waiting for Matt, I receive a call from Hunter.

“Hello Hunter, what can I do for you?” I ask quietly,

“I was wondering if you are alright, I saw pictures on Snapchat" I close my eyes,

“I mean she was  talking about a job opportunity. She'll be working in the HR dept. where I work.”  Hunter clears his throat,

“I think since she knows i'm interested in you. She might be becoming interested in Matt.” I frown, then I say in a serious tone.

“Hunter, i'm going to say this once. You and Courtney  need to realize Matt and I love each other very much. Within a year  we're going to be married. Courtney drugged  him.”  Hunter nearly seems to choke, before  he spoke.

“Hailey, then these pictures she sent me makes sense.”  Hunter sent me a picture of Matt and Courtney kissing. It hurt seeing this.

“Hunter, I need to go. i'm at the airport to pick up Matt.”

I hang up on him, and quietly wait for Matt. I had silenced my phone.  Seeing Matt, my heart starts fluttering with joy and heartache. I run up to him jumping into his arms.  Then Matt lowers  his head kissing my lips deeply. This kiss melts my heart, as we part there were tears in my eyes.

“Baby, there's so much going on… i'm so sorry for the hurt you're feeling. I love you so much.” I nod, showing Matt the new picture that Hunter sent me.  Matt's eyes grow wide,

“Where did you get that?” I  see him ask,

“Hunter sent it to me.. Knowing  my luck Hunter and Courtney  are working together on this,” Matt  frowns at this,

“Hailey, let's spend time together. Andrew wants to  have a planning meeting about what Courtney has done and is doing.”

I nod, we walk hand in hand  out of  the airport.  We stopped to pick  out some  snacks and food because Matt hadn't eaten since breakfast. He ordered a sandwitch meal.  He got me  something to munch on. We arrive at the house to eat and play video games….i could tell  that something was eating on Matt's heart,

“Matt, what's eating at you? I can tell.” I ask with concern,

“Baby, yes I have something i'm not sure how to tell you.”

Matt's voice cracks from emotions, I move closer to him. I was trying to comfort him. He accepted my love, but I see sadness in his eyes. I took ahold  of his hand.

“Matt, please tell me. I believe that Hunter and Courtney were put around us as a test. This is one test I plan on passing with you.”

 This brought a smile to warm Matt's face, as he pulls out his phone. He pulls up his photo gallery.  Then he hands me the phone with the sadness in his eyes,

“i'm sorry. I was drugged and have no memory of what happened. That grieves my heart.”  

I look through the pictures, I can't deny it pierced my heart. The only reason it didn't stay, is that I saw the discharge papers saying that he had GHB in his system. My anger towards Courtney grew, I reach out to hold him.

“I love you, Matt. i'm sorry she put you through this.” Matt whispers in my ear,

“There's more….” I tighten my hold onto him,
