In 1883 Anno Domini, Trenton Fitzgerald invented the Fitzgerald Lighter-Than-Air Battleship, which enabled Ireland to rebel against the English force that had maintained both strict laws and regulations and fierce protection of her shores. The designs quickly leaked, and a war was ignited. This was the Fiddler's War, and the story behind that name is a strange one. Connor Benton was an eccentric Irish violinist who used the war inadvertently; he is perhaps the single most influential figure in the sequence of events, whether or not it was his intent. Connor Benton. Hero? Villian? Rogue? Poet? Madman? Musician? Perhaps all of the above, but that is not for the historians to judge.
