Ashton is a nice girl. She has a nice house and a nice boyfriend (that her father doesn't know about). Ashton conceals her tears and hides her bruises. She's hurting but no one knows. If she tells then it gets worse. Her father drinks to drown his sorrows and Ashton's mother....well no one knows where she is. The traintracks are Ashton's escape and after one small mistake, the traintracks become the final thing she sees. Will she endure her hard life or will she end the pain?

Veridian is a member of the 4DA, a secret and highly esteemed time travel agency. He finds himself in an interrogation room with fellow agents Krell and Grang, who are questioning him about his mission to Zorath. It had been rumored that a god was living on the planet during its primitive years, and Veridian was tasked to verify if this was true or if it was interference from a rogue time traveler taking advantage of the primitives for their own gain. His mission led to decisions that altered the timeline and fate of Zorath. The two agents must now determine if Veridian's actions were justified. To do so, Veridian must recount his story, including the risks he took and the hardships he endured, and hope that the agents will understand his decision.

Alice McCormick is a 16 year old girl who is ridiculed and hated in her Arizona town of Break Thriven, where the people are near-murderous after a seriously traumatic event that happened in the streets of that very town. Soon, Alice begins to see things that people say are not there, she has awful nightmares that are all to real, and her heart stops, with no medical explanation why. Her father is an alcoholic, and her mother is morbidly depressed, Alice has no friends, and she is contemplating suicide. This all changes when Alice is put on Landerwon, an alternate, civil war-torn universe. There are no civilians anymore, just the Landerwon Special Forces, and The Resistance. Alice meets people in the latter she respects like brothers and sisters, and Alice prefers this place to home. But the very existence of Landerwon, and herself, are called into question, and the hallucinations become hard to distinguish from reality.
