(Mentions of but no rape. Nothing happens but it does mention it.)
I walk up the stairs to where Caleb's soul is coming from.
"This is the universe paying you back for interrupting me and Roman before," I jokingly say to Ethan as the three of us walk into what I assume is Ethan's room. I've never actually been here before so I look around. Its nice. A full sized bed on the opposite wall as soon as you walk in. He has a dresser with a TV on the right wall next to a closet. On the left wall is a computer set up and a door that I think leads to a bathroom.
"Hey Virgil. Roman," Caleb says sweetly.
"Don't go acting all innocent now," I say sitting next to Caleb. Caleb goes beet red and I just laugh. I nudge his shoulder with my own.
"Shut up," Caleb mumbles but is smiling. I stop teasing him and stand up. I walk over to Roman and hug him because I just want to hold him.
Ethan sits next to Caleb and wraps an arm around his waist.
"Oh yeah. I got a call this morning," I say.
"From the neighborhood grocery?" Ethan asks. I nod an he asks what they said.
"They said I can start this weekend. I'll be working weekends and most days after school," I explain. Roman, Ethan and Caleb already know I had an interview last week. Caleb is already working at a clothing boutique and Roman works in his dad's store on the weekends. The only one who doesn't have a part time job yet out of the four of us is Ethan.
"I might apply for neighborhood grocery as well. Since they're still hiring," Ethan says pulling out his phone. He does something on it and then sets it on the bed.
We hang out for an hour and a half before Logan, Patton and Darren show up. Then we all sit in the living room to watch TV.
"Iron Man?" I ask as we look through Ethan's DVD collection.
"Thor," Darren suggests.
"How about we watch the Avengers? It has both Thor and Iron Man in it," Caleb says pulling it out. "Fair enough," Darren and I say at the same time. We watch the movie and when it's done we look for another movie. "Let's watch this. It has a dog in it," Patton says holding up I Am Legend with Will Smith. Ethan and I share a look but Logan is the one who says,
"Let's not." Patton pouts and says that he really wants to watch it. "This is awkward," Darren mumbles. I spot the movie Hotel for Dogs and show it to Patton.
"Ooh. Yes!" Patton says happily and puts down the other movie.
"I'm going to get something to drink. Anybody else want some?" Ethan says standing up.
"I do," Caleb says and follows Ethan into the kitchen. Just as the movie starts I sense an unfamiliar soul approaching the front door.
"My brother's back," Ethan calls out. I focus on the soul and see the small aura behind his regular one. Yep, he's a Soul Searcher. Ethan's brother Adam opens the door with two large pizzas. He seems surprised to find a bunch of teenage boys in the living room.
"Oh. Hello everyone. I'm Adam. You all must be Ethan's friends. That or we need new locks," he jokes. We all laugh or smile and each introduce ourselves. Ethan and Caleb come back each holding a soda. Adam walks into the kitchen and then comes back with the pizzas and some napkins.
He sets the pizzas down on the coffee table and tells us all to eat. Not long after Adam says this everyone has a pizza. As I'm eating I sense another soul approaching, also unfamiliar.
"Is that your dad?" I ask Ethan. Ethan looks at me and nods.
"So you do have Soul Search. I also heard you puke up that black stuff. Any idea what it is?" Adam asks. Ethan's dad comes in, greets us all and then grabs some pizza before heading to his room. I explain all about Soul Cleanse and I even show him how to use it to calm someone down. He thanks me.
"You guys seem great. I'm really glad you guys are friends with Ethan," Adam says after an hour of us all talking.
"Well E may be an idiot at times but I wouldn't change him for the world," I joke and Ethan rolls his eyes with a chuckle. Adam laughs and agrees with me.
Another hour passes and we all get ready to leave.
"I'll see you guys later," I say standing up. I'm the first to leave. Everyone says they'll see me later.
"Bye baby," Roman says and kisses me goodbye. I make the walk to my house. It only takes me about ten minutes. When I get home I notice my moms car.
"Hi honey," my mom says as I walk in.
"Hey. How was work?" I ask her. "It was good," she says and starts telling me about this certain patient she had. As I'm listening to her talk my phone starts ringing. It's an unknown number. I think to myself that it's weird but I answer anyway.
Virgil: Hello?
Unknown: *sobbing*
Virgil: Uhh. Hello?
Unknown: *still sobbing* V-Virgil? It's Brianna.
I'm not surprised my sister is calling me. About a week after my birthday she started calling or texting me regularly. Our relationship has gotten much better. I'm surprised she's calling me from an unknown number.
Virgil: Bri? What's wrong? Who's phone are you calling from?
Brianna: *calmer but still crying* Umm this nice l-lady let me borrow her p-phone.
Virgil: What? Why? What happened?
"Is that Brianna? What's going on?" my mom asks with worry. I nod but put up my finger to tell her to hold on.
Brianna: *crying* I-I couldn't remember dads or my moms number. He tried to take off m-my clothes but I started screaming. The nice lady and her husband heard me and came to the car. He panicked and drove off after pushing me out of the car.
"Call dad. Brianna's in trouble," I tell my mom and she nods pulling out her phone.
Virgil: My mom is calling dad right now. Where are you?
Brianna: *sobbing again* I-I don't k-know. I'm scared Virgil.
Virgil: Don't be scared. Are the nice lady or her husband calling the police? Let me talk to them.
Unknown: Hello? My name is Jonathan. My wife and I were walking by when we heard this young lady screaming. I got down the plate and have called the police. They're on their way.
"I'm on the phone with your father. He's out on a date with Selena. He wants to know where she is," my mom says.
Virgil: Thank you for saving my little sister Jonathan. Where are you guys? My dad will be there as soon as possible.
He tells me their location and I tell my mom. She tells my dad and hangs up with him.
Virgil: Can I speak to my sister again?
Jonathan: Of course and the police have just arrived.
Brianna: *calmer but still crying* V-Virgil?
Virgil: I'm here Bri. Did he touch you anywhere?
Brianna: *crying* My chest. B-But I started screaming when he tried to undo my pants. He hit me but I didn't stop screaming.
Virgil: That's good. Dads on his way with your mom.
Brianna: My mom and dad are going to be mad at me.
I look at my mom with a look that tells her I need to be there. She nods and grabs her keys. We grab our go bags and head out. I'm glad I convinced my mom that we needed go bags in case of emergency. We climb into the car and I stay on the phone with my little sister until Jonathan and his wife leave. Even after that she calls me from my dads phone.
Brianna: Are you on your way?
Virgil: I am. I'll be there as soon as I can be.

11 hours later I'm in front of my dads house with my mom. Their house is bigger than ours.
"I need to head back but give Brianna my love," my mom says dropping me off.
"I'm gonna stay for a few days so can you call my school?" I ask and she nods.
"Stay safe," I tell her before she drives off. I go up to the door and pull out the house keys my dad gave me last time I saw him. I just spoke to my dad. Brianna, Selena and him are on their way home from the hospital. I'm sitting in the living room for only a few minutes when the front door opens. The first person I see is my dad who gives me a sad smile. Then is Brianna. When she sees me she tears up and runs into my arms. I hug her as Selena walks in.
"Thank god you're safe," I tell her.
"I was so scared," she tells me.
"Did they get the bastard?" I ask my dad.
"Not yet but he was a senior at the high school. I didn't even know she liked boys. If I had I'd have never let even think about sneaking out to meet up with one. Especially one who was already 18," my dad says angrily.
"He better pray I never meet him," I say just as pissed.
"I'm sorry everyone. He seemed so nice. I never even considered that he would try something like that," Brianna says sadly as she pulls away from our hug.
"Just never do anything like that again," I tell her. She nods and hugs me again.
An hour passes by. Brianna showed me her room. She showed me pictures of her and her friends. Then she showed me her writings. She likes writing poems. I read through some of them and compliment her.
"Thanks," she says now happy. She seemed depressed when she first came home but now she's excitedly showing me different stuff she's into.
"Let's watch my favorite show," Brianna says. I nod and follow her into the living room. Selena and my dad left a few minutes ago to go get some food for dinner. The doorbell rings and Brianna gets up to answer it.
"W-What are you doing here?" I hear my sister ask with fear. I immediately get up and walk to the door. I find some guy around my age holding on to my sisters arm. The man reaches up and slaps my sister.
"You little slut! You better tell the police it wasn't me! They're at my house. My job. You better fix this or else-" the guys says. His soul is really chaotic and disturbing to see.
"Let her go!" I say as I charge up and grab a hold of the guy holding her. "Is this him?" I ask Brianna and she nods.
"Call the police," I tell her and she runs into the kitchen to do just that. "You dare come here and threaten her after what you almost did?!" I spit angrily.
"Who the hell are you?! The slut's other boyfriend?!" he asks.
"I'm her brother and the last person you want to fuck with," I tell him darkly.
"Fuck you and your little slut of a sis-" he tries saying but I punch him in the face.
"She's 13 you sicko! Ever come near my sister again and I'll make you wish you were dead! I'll end your pathetic existence! That's not just a threat. That's a promise," I tell him with all the hatred I can muster. Then I punch him again and again.
On the third punch he falls to the floor, his nose probably broken. A couple minutes later a cop car pulls up. I explain to him that he came here to threaten my sister and how he attacked her. "What happened to him?" the officer asks. "He fell," I spit out darkly. "Bullshit!" the guy yells. "He did this to me!" the guy yells again. "And you tried to rape a 13 year old girl," I say pissed off. The officer looks at me and then the guy on the floor. "So he fell," the officer says and arrests the guy. I turn to look at my sister who is holding her face. "It's all going to be okay now," I tell her as I hug her.
