This here is quite the fun post hehe. All the different pieces of slang are from the 1940′s era roughly and will be translated at the bottom of the story, have fun reading! <3
Christmas time was inching its way closer every day, some were excited to be singing carols and drinking warm drinks that send a feeling of comfort through their bodies... others not so much. As the weather got colder in New York it seemed the more Bucky flipped his wig about the colder weather and anything else the fella could complain about
Of course, the colder weather did come with quite a few good qualities... such as being able to steal sweatshirts from said metal-armed man and be warm. That's what Y/n tended to do, always stealing the sweatshirts from the ex-skirt chaser, but it seemed while she was in a good mood about the upcoming holiday Bucky was quite the opposite
So of course what better idea was there then to get dear-ol'-Wonder Boy involved in a plan to help the resident Grinch of Christmas...

It was supposed to be a normal winter day at the Tower, possibly a few movies playing on the tv later on when the duo decided to walk in and cause mayhem... No, it was not Sam and Bucky, but instead, Y/n and Steve casually talking when Bucky heard the conversation
"What's buzzin', cousin?" Okay.. that was weird coming from the blond-haired man. "Um, I was just heading towards.. the kitchen, want anything?"
"No thanks, buck," If only he could have predicted what his lovely girlfriend was going to say next, "Speaking of the kitchen, next time we go on a run to the store we 'otta grab some more hen fruit." Dear ol' Barnes nearly dropped the glass the peacefully rested against his palm when he heard those words come outta her mouth
The two nearly cracked up watching the man's expression as he heard them continue their conversation. He's probably just hearing things, right?

It became later in the day when he heard the words once more. Peter had come by the tower to help with the decorations, acting all giddy and excited when the words came out
"Ya know Parker, you seem like quite the eager beaver 'bout all this Christmas stuff; maybe you could teach bucky over there a few tricks." All Bucky had been doing was trying to peacefully watch a movie that showed up, it was about magic and apparently extremely sad at some point so Y/n refused to watch it with him and instead chose to chat with the teen boy as they set up some tinsel around the place
Noticing the man with the messy bun slightly shift at the usage of her wording she decided to say something else to make his brain rattle slightly, "Relax, I'm just bustin' your chops Bucky"
Something was definitely going on in this tower... He is not imagining hearing anything either

"I swear Sam something's going on and I can't figure it out"
For once the pair wasn't pulling each other's legs but instead merely talking while playing a card game at the table, "Either I'm going cockeyed or Y/n and Steve are in cahoots with each other"
"You're just hearing things, man. Got any 3's, hey steve" As bucky simply muttered a 'no,' shuffling his cards a bit, Sam raised his head slightly giving Steve a nod of acknowledgment.
Steve joined the duo at the table, sitting next to Sam as his pal simple asked 'Got any 8's'
"What's Buck so pressed about?" The man had to bite his lip to keep from laughing as he watched the man in question glare at him.
"He thinks you and Y/n are planning something, keeps talking about how you're talking weird" Sam shuffled his cards a bit, tossing a card towards the brunette soldier
"I don't think, I know. You," A metal hand pointed an accusatory finger at the man in question, "And her, are in cahoots about something. I'm not a schnook nor am I a knucklehead, I know something is going on between the two of you"
All Steve could do was put his arms in the air and shake his head as he headed towards the exit of the room, "All you're doing is whistling dixie Buck"
All Steve could hear was an exasperated groan as he walking away, covering his mouth to hide the small laughter at his pals reaction

The night had soon arrived as the sky darkened and yet Bucky's madness ha yet to leave him. Everyone had sat down in the residential, 'movie viewing room,' which was basically a miniature movie theater due to Tony. Light was emanating from the giant flat screen that rests against the wall as people stayed together underneath mounds of blankets and pillows
It was simply the beginning of the movie, as chaos erupted upon the screen with children fighting over food when Y/n looked towards her ever-so-silent companion. His dark, brunette hair was loosely hanging in front of his face as his eyes stayed viewing the screen but his mind was elsewhere, "What's going on in your head, Buck?"
The simple question, whispered so only they could hear, was only responded to with a small hum of acknowledgment. It was only when a hand was softly placed against his face did Bucky's eyes stray from the screen, "What've you been thinking about Buck? You've been pretty quiet, normally you love this movie"
"Jus' been thinkin' doll... I have been curious about something though, when did you learn 1940's slang?" His blue eyes carried a look of curiosity as he raised an eyebrow, a boyish grin playing on his lips. "You and Stevie have been talking like that all day, can't seem to figure out why though" His tongue peeked out the corner of his lips as his left hand's fingertips gently tapped on the bare skin underneath Y/n's, more frankly his, sweater
"We were just trying to cheer you up, you seemed so down lately and I wanted to do something that might make you happy," Before Bucky could get any further with his accusatory taps his question had been answered with a sentence he didn't even realize was a possibility. "Last night I asked Steve if he could teach me any slang that he remembered; I just wanted to make you happy while he wanted you to go crazy trying to figure out why we were talking like that"
The last sentence is what made Bucky shake his head slightly at his pal's antics, he should've known by the way the blond was up to something. "Well, firstly, I absolutely love what you did. Secondly," Ever so covertly, Bucky raised his free hand underneath the blanket as his fist closed, leaving only one specific finger raised at the direction of said blond, making Y/n laugh quietly at her boyfriend's retaliation, "Thirdly, you always know how to make me all doll dizzy about you and I love that, thank you"

Okay, but can we just like appreciate I did this.. took me like two days+finals for college. Hopefully once I get through my finals this week I'll be able to write a little bit more and get a few requests done; feel free to ask for one
