LONG CHAPTER AHEAD!
You feel something drop on your face, “Ugh not yet... it's too early!”
You hear loud tweets and Leo jumping on your face.
“Alright! I'm up! What's the matter, Leo?”
Leo drops a scroll in your palms.
“A scroll from who?” You're still half asleep and forgot that Leo can't tell you.
You open up the scroll, “It's from Varian...”

Dear (__),
I need you to meet me at old Corona as soon as you receive this scroll.
I've made three machines that might change the way of life for everybody in Corona!
But I need your help to make two more.
Meet me at the old Corona bridge!

“Well buddy, it's time to escape for a few hours. Can you go get Sebastian? If we want to meet Raps in the town before the royal banquet he's our strongest chance.” You pet his head gently.
Leo nods and flies out the window to get Sebastian.
You get changed. Luckily that blue dress had dried from last night so you could wear it.
The only concern was what if someone comes to wake you up and sees your missing?
You grab two cushions and put them under your blanket that will distract them for now, besides its super early and how long were you going to be it's just for a few hours.
You get out of the castle with no patrols seeing you and run to find Leo and Sebastian.
You hear hooves and a bird tweeting and you follow the noise to find them looking for you.
“Psst! Leo! Sebastian over here!” You whisper. They both come to you.
“Hey, you two! We've gotta go to old Corona before everyone wakes up in the castle, got it?” You hop onto Sebastian.
“Fast as you can to the old Corona bridge!” As soon as you said that, Sebastian goes as quick as he can while Leo takes off in the sky to look out for any guards.
A usual few hour trip had cut down to a half an hour by how quick Sebastian can go he truly is incredible.
You see, Varian standing by the bridge with Ruddiger. “Hey (__) I'm so glad you could make it!”
Sebastian slows down to let you off, “Hey, what's so huge that I had to come right away?”
Varian helps you off Sebastian, “Well, I've made machines that could produce hot running water!”
“Really?! You've gotta show me!” You get excited.
“Okay, okay, but you've gotta promise me you won't tell anybody what I'm doing or tell my dad where were going.” He looks at you with those big blue puppy eyes.
“I promise Varian.” You smile.
“Good now let's make a move before we wake up the village.” He grabs your hand for you to run with him to underground tunnels.
“V, does anyone know what you're doing down here?” You ask while Varian grabs a lantern.
“Uhm, no but that's why you've got to keep this secret. My dad would kill me if he found out we were down here, but if he saw what we're doing, it would impress him.” He glances down.
“At least I hope he would be impressed...” he murmurs.
You move his bangs away from his face, “I'm certain he would be...” you smile at him.
“Thanks, (__).” He smiles back at you and takes you to a machine.
“Here it is! This baby could make hot running water to all of Old Corona! And then people will be thrilled with me and my dad will be proud of his son.”
“Varian, your dad is already proud of you-”
Varian interrupts you, “If he were proud of me then he would say wouldn't he?!” He snaps at you making you flinch, he's never shouted at you before.
You were silent, not sure what to say next.
Varian sighs, “I'm sorry, (__)... I didn't mean to snap...” he hugs you.
“It's okay, I understand.” You smile.
“So want to help me make another machine?” He looks at you with his big blue eyes.
“Of course I will, but I've got to get back before everyone wakes up.” You answer.
“Oh, okay... when will you come back?” He looks at you.
“Monday, once everyone has left, things can go back to the way they were.”
“You promise?” He asks.
“Well I can't guarantee that, but I can promise you that I'm always there for you when you need me.” You hold your pinkie finger out.
“Thanks (__), I'm lucky to have you as my best friend...” he blushes.
“And I'm lucky to have you as mine...” You blush as well.
“So... let's get on with these machines before you have to go back to the royals.” He grabs his alchemy and tools.
“Okay let's go!” You start walking with Leo on your shoulder.

It's been two hours since you met Varian in at the bridge and you've both nearly completed the first one.
It was mainly silent until Varian asks you a Question.
“Hey can I ask you a something?”
“Uh sure, what do you wanna know?” You ask, confused.
“Do you remember anything about your parents? You don't have to answer if you don't want too.” He mumbled at the end, but you understood.
“No, but I remember what my dad used to tell me.” You stop what you're doing and look Varian.
“What's that?” He stops what he's doing too.
“Well he used to always tell to me before I went to sleep... that the stars, moon and sun were all connected... and the stars are what keep them together.”
Varian looks at you very confused, “how do stars keep the sun and the moon connected?”
“Well, my dad used to say that stars still shine brightly through the day even when you can't see it... and the stars help the moon keep the darkness away...
And if the stars didn't keep them connected... The sun would get to its weakest state and the moon sinks into a darkness that only the stars can rescue.”
You think even harder, “ And if that happens it's up the the brightest star how it brings them together again.”
“Woah, that's so strange...” Varian is collecting his tools to get ready for the next machine.
“It was almost like he was preparing me for something... but I don't know what... Well, ready for the last machine?” You try to change the subject.
“Yeah let's go.” You both start walking down another dark tunnel.

“How long have we been down here now?” You ask.
“Uh, I think four hours.” Varian is finishing the last machine.
“What?! The entire castle was awake two hours ago!” You panic.
“It's okay (__) just say you went for a horse ride.” He puts his hands on your shoulder and looks at you with a reassuring smile.
“Okay, Varian.” You hug him. “I'll see you on Monday morning.”
Varian walks out with you to the stables to get Sebastian.
“Bye (__)...” he waves.
“Bye.” You wave back before racing for your life to go back to the castle.

After half an hour, you eventually get into the town, just in time to find Rapunzel. She looked trapped between the guards, and they wouldn't let her do anything.
You get Sebastian to trot over to them.
“Your majesty your lady-in-waiting requires you to come with me on Sebastian back to the castle.” You speak as formally as you can for the guards believe that Cass needs Rapunzel.
“You can be dismissed now guards,” Rapunzel says.
They march back to the castle.
“Thanks (__).” She grins.
“No problem! We should go though.”
“Yeah, your right but where were you this morning? We searched all over the castle and couldn't find you!” She looks at you with a raised eyebrow.
“Oh um, I went for a horse ride with Sebastian early dawn.” You smile awkwardly.
“Okay? Well, let's go back to the castle anyway.” Rapunzel gets on Sebastian behind you and you get Sebastian to take you back to the castle.

About five minutes later, you finally get back to the castle.
“Hey, I've gotta take Sebastian back to the stables I'll meet you back at your room.” You both hop off Sebastian.
“Okay! I'll go find Cass.” Rapunzel goes back into the castle.
“Let's get you to your stable.” You lead him to his stable and take him some fresh food.
“Well, I'll see you tomorrow!” You pat his head while he eats.
“Well, we should go get ready for tonight then meet Rapunzel.” Leo snuggles into your hair.
You run into the castle and get to your room with Leo. You quickly get changed into the fancy dress and rush to Rapunzel's room.
Cass and Rapunzel are talking, “Let me guess Big day out wasn't all what you hoped it be?”
Rapunzel sighs, “It was.... interesting.”
Pascal sticks his tongue out.
“Mhm I bet...” you walk over to them both.
“I just wish my dad would let me get out and see the real world!” Leo goes over to Rapunzel to comfort her with Pascal.
Cass opens a window, “You know if you really wanted, I could get you in and out of here before anyone even knew that we were gone.”
You and pascal become excited.
“Uh, you mean sneak me out?” Rapunzel smiles.
“Exactly. What you do when no one's looking is your business.” Cass smirks.
“Wanna come to (__)?” Cass asks.
“You bet I do!” You're getting more excited, “Sneaking out with Cass is a piece of cake!”
A woman knocks on the door, “The royal banquet is ready to receive the princess now.”
“Cheer up, Raps. Hey, maybe your dad got someone to chew your food for you.” Cass smirks.

You're now at the royal banquet sat next to Rapunzel and Cass. You can't help but laugh at where Cass had placed Eugene.
Cass comes to sit next to you, “Did you really have to put Eugene with all the kids?”
“Its one of the perks of doing this job” she smiles.
You giggle at Cass before Eugene clears his throat.
“Ladies and gentlemen, Dukes and Duchesses, Barons and Baronesses, Marquis and, you know, the female version of those, may I share a moment of history with you. Princess, would you join me up here?”
You sit there with your mouth open.
“No, no, no, no....” you whisper.
“What's up?” Cass whispers back to you.
“Eugene is going to ask Rapunzel to marry him!” You whisper yell.
“What?!” she looks shocked.
“Tonight, we celebrate our love for the princess. I, for one, can think of no better way to celebrate the love I have for this woman than this.” Eugene kneels down.
“Oh gosh! I told him to give her time!” You put your face in your hands.
“Oh Eugene, did you drop something?” Rapunzel asks confused.
“Uh no...” he laughs nervously.
Eugene opens the box open and king Frederick stands up.
Eugene rambles on about how much he loves her, but like expected Rapunzel freaks out.
“Here? In this... castle forever?” She looks extremely panicked.
“ I mean unless you want to rent, but I hardly see how we're gonna top this.” Eugene jokes.
It took a few seconds before Rapunzel could say anything, “I've... Wow! I love you, Eugene, but... I, I can't! Just not, not now. Um, I need some air.”
Rapunzel runs out and you follow her to check if she's okay and Cass follows along.
“Oh, I feel horrible about Eugene. I... I do love him, and I wanna marry him someday... but not like this! Ugh! I need to get out and clear my head without a fleet of guards tailing me.”
Cass smirks, “Say no more... (__) go get changed and meet us at my room.”
You rush to your room and get changed into your regular clothes.
“I can't believe how much I've missed these!” You rush to back Cass' room.
Tonight was going to be amazing sneaking out two out of four of your favourite people and who knows what you're going to do while out with them.
