"Well, now I know why he said it was dangerous." I said they were all staring at me shocked, I ran a hand through my hair, "So, you want to tell me what's going on now?" They looked in between each other.
"We uh," Cleo started they all looked in between each other as the boys finally poped up.
"What's going on, we heard shouting," Will asked sliding down.
"There was a tentacle thing in the pool that tried to grab the girls, but I startled it back," I explained and turned back to the pool, and frowning I stuck a hand in, then I jerked it back, surprised, that water... had rejected me...
"What?" Bella asked at my expression,
"Stand back, I have a hunch," I said, and after giving them a moment to I jumped it, as soon as I made contact with the surface I jetted out, throwing me across the room. I let out a grunt when I hit the opposite wall,
"Percy!" I heard someone shout, but I just sat up groaning,
"That's some stubborn water," I muttered, and getting up I walked back to the moon pool and crouched near the pool,
"What is it with those three that you want so bad?" I muttered and the tentacle shot out again weaving through the legs and reaching for, everyone started screeching but I put a figure to my lips letting them do what they wanted, they collided with the wall I had crashed into and then retracted quickly,
"Thank you," I said and the water rippled, I could feel their stairs now as I crossed over to where the tentacles had collided, I touched the wall and started running my hand around it, then I paused as I noticed something, I turned to the girls,
"You're necklaces, they're made of this stone, but there's no sign of digging," I said and all three girls looked down, Riki sighed and looked to the other girls,
"We should tell him, he can help," She said
"What! No way," Cleo said automatically, "He's a stranger and a scientist"
"Uh, swimmer not scientist," I interjected, getting three looks, "Right- I'll be over here," I muttered
"I mean he's talking to the moon pool," Bella said and Cleo looked over at me then back over to her friends. My hand scraped against the rock, and I winced as blood started pouring out, almost immediately a water tentacle shot out and covered my hand healing it quickly, everyone staired,
"Uhhhh that's weird isn't it?" I asked and everyone nodded, I cleared my throat, "I uh never cut my hand?" I asked Will shook his head, and I tried again, "Healing properties in the water?" I asked and as on cue they titled their heads, considering,
"Yeah, I can buy that," Lewis said, earning a hit from Cleo,
"He's obviously lying,"
"Well I mean, this is new for you, right?" I said, then my eyes widened and I drew the papers from my bag Lewis had brought done and flipped through until I found a bunch of clippings, about mermaids, I scanned the paper then looked up at the girls, "Ohhh" I whispered and nodded, they looked worried these girls weren't sirens but pure mermaids, I groaned and gripped my head, all this stuff was giving me a headache, leave it to my dad to come up with the hardest task, I flopped back on the sand,
"What does this word mean?" Riki said pointing to a word on one of the pages,
"hmmm?" I hum sitting up and peering at the word, "I'm not good with translation, but siren? Oh! No that's Mermaid," I said before flopping back onto the sand,
"But that still doesn't explain why this is happening now," I said, "The moonpool has been here for generations, and based on those articles you girls aren't exactly new to this whole mermaid thing, so you aren't the problem. I groaned and gripped my head again,
"Why dad???" I asked in frustration feeling a migraine start,
"So you're not going public with this?" Rikki asked and I looked over to her,
"Why would I?" I asked confused, they looked in between each other,
"Most people would," She said and I shook my head,
"I'm not most people, I don't want all that attention, besides we're all entitled to some secrets," I said looking over at the moon pool,
"Okay well thanks for the offer Will, but this will take more effort than I originally thought, I should probably get started," I said brushing off my pants, then I paused, "Oh one more thing," I said before I flung water at them,
"Cleo!" Rikki yelled before toppling over, I winced,
"It wasn't me!" Cleo said,
"Sorry, that was me," I said waving a hand, everyone turned to look at me, "I didn't know you would fall over or anything though," I said and the girls looked at me flabbergasted and I drew the water and transforming their tails back into legs,
"What are you?" They asked, I smiled,
"I'm a helper," I said
