It was Friday and I decided to skip school to stay with Darryl. I went to George's house after George left for school. I didn't want George to see me because he would tell the group that I'm skipping school to stay with Darryl, which would make Clay change the day, meaning I wouldn't be there to protect Darryl.

I went at around 9. The group was at 2nd period at that time, so George should've been gone by them. Then again, Clay said in his notebook he might choose to leave Darryl alone since he was scared he was going to regret murdering someone. Especially if Darryl didn't like George in the first place.

I could've just killed off George, but I would be no better than Clay if I did. George was innocent just like Darryl was.

I knocked on the door of George's large house. After a minute of waiting the door opened. Darryl opened it. He had messy hair and was wearing my hoodie and gray sweatpants.

"Good morning," I said to him.

"Zak? What are you doing here? Don't you have school?" He asked my rubbing his eyes.

"I skipped it to be with you," I smiled. He let me in.

"Are you hungry? I can get the cook to cook us some breakfast," Darryl offered.

"Since when did George have a cook?"

"His parents hired one after they found out I was living with him."

"That's nice of them. I'm not too hungry right now. I'll just grab a bowl of cereal or something later."

He nodded. "Wanna go to my room?"

I shrugged. "Sure."

We went upstairs and he led me through a hall of doors and opened one. His room had light gray walls with a full sized bed with black, white, and red sheets. The pillows were fluffy and covered with gray and black cases.

There was a black dresser on the other side of the room. It had a fake plant, a picture frame of me, Darryl and Vincent at the fare, and Bubbles. Above it was a mirror with papers taped to it. There were a few paintings and shelves with books stacked on them. There was a TV standing on a TV stand. His backpack was in the corner. I plopped down on his bed. "So, what do you want to do?"

He sat up straight next to me. He crossed his legs, crisscross applesauce style. "I don't know. Why did you come here anyways?"

"What, you don't want me here?"

"I'm fine if you being here, you just didn't tell me you were coming."

"I wanted it to be a surprise," I laughed and grabbed the remote from the TV stand. "I see your enjoying my hoodie."

He looked at me, his face red, and looked down at the bed sheets. I couldn't but giggle.

"You pick a movie, and I'll get snacks." I got up and walked to the kitchen. I grabbed a couple of candy bars, and cooked some popcorn up. I checked the time. 9:20.

After a minute and a half I grabbed the popcorn out of the microwave and poured it into a large bowl. I walked back upstairs to Darryl. He chose a movie that was the movie adaptation of a book. It was about a high school boy who got mutated and turned into a superhero. This movie was targeted for kids, but he still wanted to watch it.

I climbed into bed. I sat between his legs. He had his arms around me and his legs spread apart leaving a space for me to sit in.

(kind of like this ^)

He hit the play button and the movie started. Today marked our 2 week anniversary. Not a big milestone, but it was half a month.

I couldn't help but think about Clay. When was he going to come? What do I do after he sees I'm here? I would have to tell him I knew what he was planning or else he would kill Darryl on another day.

I had to tell him in a way that he wouldn't try to kill Darryl without me interfering. I might die if I do though. Maybe we can make a compromise.

The movie continued. I fidgeted with Darryl's hair as I anxiously waited for Clay. I didn't know what time Clay was going to come. Lunch time was a smart time. No one would be home except Darryl at that time.

The movie ended at around 11. Lunch was coming up. If Clay was smart, he could come at around this time. Darryl turned off the TV. He moved from his spot, leaving me to feel cold.

"I think I'm gonna take a nap," He told me.

I nodded. He laid down next to me. I sat up and he wrapped his arms a little bit above my waist. I scrolled through social media until I heard a thud from downstairs. My heart dropped. I checked the time. It was 10 minutes after lunch had started, so I knew it was Clay. I pulled Darryl close to me as I hear footsteps and doors open. I guess he didn't know which room was Darryl's do he had to check.

I heard the footsteps become louder. I saw a shadow from under the door. I listened to Darryl's breathing. He was already asleep and I didn't want to wake him up. I shakily took Darryl's hand off of my waist, but before I could the door opened.

Caught off guard, I dropped Darryl's hand back around my waist. A blonde figure wearing mask opened the door. The mask covered his eyes and a smiley face was drawn on. There were small eye holes in the place where the eyes were drawn.

"Hey, Clay." I said firmly, holding onto Darryl's hand. He was still asleep, so I said that quietly.

Clay lifted the mask off of his face. It revealed his emerald green eyes and freckly face. "Zak?" He said. "What are you doing here? You've missed school."

I lifted Darryl's hand off of my waist and placed Darryl's head comfortably on a pillow. I stood in front of Clay. He was wearing a black hoodie and black pants. Those good clothes because you wouldn't be able to see visible blood stains with black clothing.

I crossed my arms. I looked up at Clay, we had 8 inch height difference. "Here to visit my boyfriend. Why are you here?"

"I was here to get something for George."

I raised an eyebrow. "What's with the murder outfit? And the mask."

Clay was taken aback. "Murder outfit? This is just my normal clothes."

I rolled my eyes. "I was joking," I wasn't. I just wanted him to answer my questions. "It's just a change from the neon green sweaters. Now what's with the mask."

I signaled to the mask he was holding. He looked at me firmly. I heard Darryl groan. "Zak? Clay?" He sat up and rubbed his eyes.

"Good morning, sunshine." I said softly.

"Blegh!" Clay shouted in disgust, sticking his tongue out and pointing to it.

I rolled my eyes. "What are you doing here, Clay?" Darryl asked.

"Here to get something for George." He said slowly.

"Is he wearing you sweater? Your favorite sweater?" Clay whispered to me.

I shrugged. "I gave it to him."

Clay's eyes widened. I pulled Clay out of the room. "We're going to talk outside. You should go back to sleep."

Darryl started to get up from bed. "What? Are you guys going to do something? I want in."

"We're just going to talk and then Clay will leave. You only got like 10 minutes of sleep."

Darryl whimpered as I pulled Clay out of the room. I took him to another room, so Darryl wouldn't hear us.

"I know why you're here." He probably had the weapon or his backpack. "What's in your pockets."

Clay showed me that there was nothing. "Put the backpack away." He felt unsure at first, so I tossed his backpack to the other side of the room.

"Darryl doesn't like George. You're being paranoid. So you can leave Darryl alone."

"Me? I wasn't doing anything. I'm not going to do anything to him."

I shot him an intimidating glare. "The mask. The clothes. The fact you came here at lunch. It all leads up to you trying to murder him."

His eyes widened and he looked away at me. "You're the paranoid one. I'd never murder anyone."

"Let me check your backpack then."

"That's an invasion of privacy."

"It isn't if you only have school supplies like you're supposed to."

"Look. I know what you did to Schlatt." He said slowly reaching for his backpack. He was trying to get a weapon and use it on me. I jumped on him and threw him on the ground.

"Don't try."

He was sweating but he had a big smirk on his face. "We both have something on each other. I know what you did to Schaltt, you know what I was going to do with Darryl."

"I did nothing to Schlatt."

"I mean, it all adds up. You were the last to talk with Schlatt. Schlatt never liked you. Word got out he snitched about you and Darryl to his parents."

I pulled his hair, forcing his face closer to mine. "Who else knows."

He laughed into my face. "Only I know if you killed Schlatt. But George, Nick, and I know about you Darryl."

"Who told Nick." I said firmly.

He shrugged.

"Look, I have no real proof on you and you have no real proof on me. We can either go against each other and see who can report who in first, or we can work together."
