It's been about a week since Akasuki had gone on her date with Yamaguchi, since then the pair have been meeting each lunch time despite the travel distance. However, at the beginning of the week Kenma had returned back staying most days, luckily for her he only attended lunches which she wasn't there during and today, was one of those days.

"Do you really have to go?" Yamaguchi whined as the pair reached the gates, their hands intertwined.

"Yes," she whined back, turning to face him, "you'll survive."

Their relationship had been going well, things were working. He reached up to cup her cheeks,

"I don't think I will," he suddenly grabbed his chest, "I, need a doctor!" He glanced at her playfully, "only if I had the best doctor around, I could be saved!"

They weren't a thing, but they weren't not something. What they were though, was good.

"Saved my ass," Akasuki scoffed, still giving in to his cuteness pulling him into her, Yamaguchi burrowing his head into her neck, "you're such a dork."

He lifted his head looking down at her,

"coming from you who literally spent ten minutes figuring out whether my eyes were green or brown."

Akasuki scoffed,

"I couldn't tell!"

"Maybe you need a closer look," Yamaguchi whispered leaning in closer to her face, his eyes staring into hers.

A closer look, she gazed into his eyes becoming lost in the lightened sky scape in his eyes, they're so pretty. But she's seen prettier.

"Akasuki," he whispered, his hands brushing over her neck into her hair, closing his eyes, Tadashi why, she lifted her chin closing her eyes as he closed the gap between them, his lips brushing softly against hers, it's happening, their lips moving against one another slowly, it's actually happening.

Something wasn't right, where was the spark? Where was the overwhelming rush for more? Where's the sudden craving for him?

"What the fuck?" a voice exclaimed.

Akasuki's eyes widened pulling away from Yamaguchi, his eyes also wide as he staggered back, the pair turning to see Taketora, Yūki and Sō watching them. Fuck, this is the worst thing that could've happened. Sō lunged forward throwing his arm around Yamaguchi shaking him,

"my man!"

Taketora held his hand out to Yamaguchi who nervously glanced at Akasuki, she had no clue what was happening, impatience kicked in Taketora grabbing his hand slapping it against his own, a high five, how cool. She couldn't help but frown, she had been thinking about that kiss since their last date, worrying constantly about it. Wasn't there supposed to be more to it?

"I'm proud of you!" Taketora grinned at Akasuki holding his hand out.

No, this was enough, she ducked under this arm pulling Sō's arm off Yamaguchi,

"the gym, now."

"What?" Sō frowned, the joy flushing from his face.

"I said, the gym, now," Akasuki repeated dropping his arm to his side.

This wasn't funny to her anymore, the concern had been building up inside for days, a sandcastle built from her small wishes for their relationship, but that kiss, that kiss started a revolution in her mind, why couldn't she just feel something? She felt something the first time they hugged, but ever since, it hasn't been like that. She was hoping at the first time they kissed, she'd feel it again, even if it was a tiny spark. But there wasn't. He, h, the last one she kissed, ruined it, no, she ruined it.

"Hey, it's fine," Yamaguchi insisted quietly.

It wasn't, it's not just her annoyance, it was the fact they had little respect for them. Sō and Taketora shared a glance before backing off,

"it was only a joke."

Akasuki glared at them as she held her place crossing her arms, the boys turning around to sprint towards the gym. Jesus Christ, she noticed Yūki had stayed awkwardly shifting foot to foot,

"Akasuki, I,"

She took a deep breath turning to face him,

"Yūki, just go to the gym, okay?"

He nodded glancing away as he hurried off. That was horrible of her but she needs to speak to Yamaguchi. She turned to him, Yamaguchi noticing the sudden change in her personality, he squeezed her shoulder lifting her face to meet his,

"what's wrong? Speak to me."

She shrugged, her words collapsing with her confidence, she couldn't do it, how is she meant to tell such an innocent, sweet guy that she just wasn't feeling it, after all they've done. She, can't give herself to some when, she doesn't own herself anymore Yamaguchi frowned nodding as he sighed weakly,

"I understand," he stepped back, "you didn't feel it either?"

Huh? She lifted her head to meet his sad eyes.

"I feel stupid for saying this but,"

A sudden yell rang out through the empty courtyard,

"Akasuki! You upset Yūki!"

What? Obviously, she upset Yuki, he's as fragile as ice. Fuck, Yamaguchi weakly squeezed her shoulder,

"go, I'll call you tonight."

"Are you sure?" Akasuki whispered, rubbing her head, "we need to talk."

Yamaguchi nodded,

"and we will, but they need you right now."

He's right, she needs to apologise to Yūki. She glanced towards the gym then back to Yamaguchi,

"I'm sorry."

She ruined it, he pulled a fake smile, rubbing his neck,

"it's okay, we both need to think this through, we'll talk tonight."

"Promise?" Akasuki whispered sadly dropping her gaze to the floor.

She felt regretful for dragging Tadashi into her business. His arms pull her into his chest whispering as he rubbed her back,

"I promise, come on," he pulled away giving her a small push towards the gym, "talk later."

"Talk later," she quietly repeated, her legs leading her to the gym, glancing back to no sign of him.

What just happened? What exactly is going to be said tonight? Does he have something he wants to say? Is he going to ridicule her? She gritted her teeth holding down her emotions, come on focus Akasuki, apologise to Yūki, that's what matters right now. She pushed the door open seeing the boys crowded around the bench. Here she goes, the door shut behind her, their heads lifting at the bang.

"Hey," she whispered making her way over.

"Not cool," Yaku grumbled as she joined the crowd.

She frowned lowering her head, trying to slip past them, Kuroo moved aside to allow space for her,

"thanks," she muttered turning to see Yūki sat on the bench beside Kenma watching him play.

He, seems okay? Kenma glanced up at the sudden intrusion, his eyes narrowing as he gritted his teeth looking back at his game. She felt her heart break, ouch, okay, that hurt, what did she do to him? She crouched down in front of Yūki,

"hey."

Yūki loosely shifted his gaze onto Akasuki's face, under eyes red, lips were quivering, whoa, did she seriously upset him? She cleared her throat glancing over her shoulder to the boys,

"do you mind if I speak to him alone?"

"Apologise to us," Sō demanded.

Right.

"Not the time," Kuroo grunted.

"No," Akasuki sighed, turning to Sō, "I'm sorry," she glanced to Taketora, "I'm sorry."

The pair glanced at each other nodding before accepting her apology, wandering off, followed by the others.

"I still can't believe she kissed him before me!" Sō complained.

"She could do so much better than that shrimp," Taketora confessed angrily.

"She seriously tongued that guy?" Yaku asked, somewhat surprised, causing So and Taketora to nod rapidly.

Would they just drop it already? It's done and over with. Now it was just them left, her, Yūki and Kenma. She glanced at Kenma, it's been a while since they've been this close, she won't do anything, it was Yuki's time. She gulped turning to Yūki,

"I'm sorry for snapping at you."

Yūki turned his head away hiding his eyes with his face, it's like talking to a kid. Guess she had to find a new way to talk to him.

"Here I was hoping a genius called Yūki could help me with some quests," Akasuki lightly pulling her gaming device out of her bag.

Yūki's attention slowly drifted to the device in her hands,

"you, want my help?"

"Only the best," she whispered, she pushed off the floor gesturing for either one of them to move aside to make room for her.

Kenma didn't budge, that's to be expected, Yūki slid to his side creating a gap between the pair for her, great, she sat down, loading up her game. Yūki reached over to take the device from her fingers instructing her what she needed to do, placing it in his lap, she guessed this was forgiveness, she watched the smile growing on his face. Out of everyone Yūki was the most sensitive, it was like seeing her brothers sad when he was upset. Right, let's try again, she leaned onto his shoulder,

"Yūki, I really am sorry."

He glanced up at her smiling softly,

"it's okay Suki."

She felt the genuine forgiveness in his eyes, thank you Yūki, she appreciated it.

"Why did you suddenly freak out?" Yūki asked taking his focus from the game.

"It's," she frowned, "a problem from my past," Akasuki muttered.

"From your past?" Yūki asked lowering the game.

She can't talk about it, not with Kenma here, and not when she wasn't sure of anything to be exact. Suddenly a hand reached over to grab the device from Yūki's fingers, the demanding hand was easily recognisable to Akasuki, Kenma, she glared at him,

"hey!"

He ignored her, starting to fiddle around with the device, god, he just has to get his hands on everything of hers. She tried to grab the device from his hands, Kenma pulling away instantly holding it further away.

"Kenma!" Yuki whined trying to reach over Akasuki.

He's not making it any easier. Yuki suddenly lunged, throwing his chest into Akasuki, holy shit for such a small boy he had some weight to him, throwing his body around, Akasuki tried to avoid becoming hit by his wildly waving arm, he has definitely spent too much time with little psycho Yaku. He suddenly leaned too far, his foot coming down harshly down the side of Akasuki's ankle, fuck, she instinctively lashed out her hands catching Yuki's side shoving him, oh shit. Time slowed as she watched Yuki hover in the air above the floor, hands reaching out, what if he gets badly hurt? Akasuki grabbed his wrist, unfortunately gravity had already worked against them, she felt a sudden tug at her shirt, what, there's only one person that could be, her eyes widened as she caught the glimpse of blond hair flying past her face, Kenma, there's no way he could support the pair of them. They impacted the ground with a heavy thud. She took a desired breath of air, the pain spreading through Akasuki's body, fuck, it might've not been so bad if her landing had been smooth, instead, she glanced underneath seeing Yuki staring face up at the ceiling,

"I think I broke something."

Akasuki let out a sharp laugh,

"me too."

She went to push herself up, a weight stopping her from moving, huh, she glanced over her shoulder to see Kenma blinking slowly at her, his fingers tightening around the fabric of her shirt, heat resonating out from the spot his fingers were, he, tried to help her, why isn't he moving? She suddenly lifted herself using her arms, fuck,

"Yuki, get out."

He scrambled out from underneath her, Akasuki taking deep breaths, you idiot, she thought to herself as she held her and Kenma's weight, fuck why would he do that? Yuki slipped out Akasuki dropping her arms to the floor, turning herself around to look up at Kenma. Is he hurt? His eyes were closed, his arms straightened against the floor.

"Are you okay?" he muttered.

Was she okay? Fuck you, Akasuki thought angrily, she was replaceable, he wasn't, she hit his chest lightly,

"you're a fucking idiot, what if you got hurt?"

His eyes slowly opened, golden rays burning her face,

"what?" eyes fluttering slowly over her angered face, "why, are you hitting me?"

"What if you broke your ankle or something?" Akasuki angrily ranted, "you're an idiot."

"Are, you okay Kenma?" Yuki inquired standing above the pair.

Kenma grumbled pushing himself up to a sitting position on top of Akasuki, she wasn't sure if the rapid beating of her heart was due to the anger or the sight of Kenma staring down at her.

"Yeah, just dizzy," Kenma muttered.

Dizzy? Dizzy? Was that all he had to say? He was fucking dizzy, and she was fucking fuming. She pushed herself up becoming face to face with him jabbing her finger into his chest, her anger fading as she caught a hint of worry in his eyes, her palm lightly hitting his chest instead, a whisper slipping from her lips,

"don't do that, you could've got hurt."

Kenma nodded shortly, he better have understood, she was serious, he can't put himself at risk,

"I think she needs an ice pack."

"On it!" Yuki exclaimed running off.

An icepack? Seriously? Akasuki sighed, she no longer had the energy to argue. She felt the soft impact of fingertips against her jaw sliding upwards, palms pressing against her cheeks sending goose bumps down her spine, this is what she meant, how can he bring all her senses to focus simultaneously on his touch? Her body moved without her instruction, resting against the reassuring warmth of his palms, she's not going to get over this stupid crush, her heart and body had already decided for her.

"I'm sorry," Kenma whispered, his slightly roughened voice filling her ears forcing her to open her eyes, he's sorry?

Why is he sorry? He hadn't done anything to be sorry about. His lips parted again,

"what happened in your past?"

Her eyes widened, what? Kenma lifted his head noticing the distant sound of hurried footsteps climbing off of Akasuki, please don't, she tried to force her hands to grab him but they wouldn't move from their place, Kenma returning silently to the bench, why couldn't he just stay with her?

"Hey, what happened?" Kuroo called out running over to Akasuki grabbing her shoulders looking over her, "are you hurt?"

She nodded slowly, physically she was, she hadn't decided if her heart had been torn from her chest yet or there was still string of muscle keeping it attached.

"We were messing around and we fell and Kenma passed out," Kenma cut in muttering, "I didn't," Yuki continuing his rant, "Suki looked like she was about to pass out!"

"Yuki," Kuroo sighed grabbing his attention, "are you okay?"

Yuki slowly lifted the icepack shaking his head,

"my neck hurts."

Kuroo nodded rising to his feet, bringing the icepack up to Yuki's neck holding it there,

"do I have to ban all of you from playing during practice?"

Kenma eye's shot up to Kuroo, the devil burning within,

"no."

This is unfair. Akasuki lifted herself to her feet carefully,

"sorry, it was my fault," she crouched down picking up her device from the ground catching Kenma's gaze as she stood up, "I should go," she started to wander away from the three.

"Suki," Kuroo spoke loudly, she glanced back at him, "don't bother coming to practice if you keep that attitude."

Right, she nodded, turning around heading out of the gym, her lips quivering, she felt like she had been told off by her father, she hated it, it made her disappointed in herself. She slapped her cheeks trying to hold the tears back, stop being a pussy, get to class, focus Akasuki, focus.
