Kenma and Akasuki had spent several hours wandering the shopping mall, playing around with the various clothes and stocking up on midnight snacks. Akasuki slid into a sofa booth, Kenma sliding in beside her reaching over to place their bags on the free chairs.

"What do you want?" Akasuki asked playfully reading the menu at the bar.

Kenma hummed,

"just apple juice."

Oh,

"you're not hungry?"

He shrugged pulling the sleeves of his jumper over his hands. He can't not eat. She furrowed her brows, an idea popping into her head. They'll just share. She climbed out of her chair,

"I'll be back," heading to the bar, ready to order.

As she neared the bar, a boy close to her age stood opposite, a large smile on his face. He looked so familiar to her.

"Hi, what can I get for you today?" he asked, his tone light and friendly.

Too familiar,

"can I have, an apple juice, a latte, and," what else, "the ham sandwich and," what does Kenma like, right, "an apple pie. Please."

"Is that everything?"

She nodded,

"yep," pressing her card against the machine noticing the boy's eyes linger on her face.

Something feels off.

"Um," he spoke suddenly, Akasuki meeting her eyes, "I'm sorry if this is abrupt, but," his cheeks grew pink glancing down briefly, "you're Akasuki, right?"

Her mouth dropped open as the memory hit her as abrupt as his words. Akasuki had been alerted to some lunch mayhem that had something to do with her friends. She didn't make haste through the building, assuming it couldn't be that bad. Until she stepped outside, she could hear the yells and cheers, all screaming one name. His. With that, Akasuki began to sprint dropping her things, as she ran towards the noise. The ring of students was evidence enough for her to assume, this was bad. Fuck, she had only one option. He's only getting worse and worse. First, it was stupid threats and warnings. She dove into the crowd, squeezing through them, elbows connecting with her stomach as she tried. Then it became light bruises and grazes. Followed by bleeding and sprains. She burst into the inner circle, her mouth dropping open at the sight before her. Now, now it was broken bones and the unknown survival rate. His foot was heavy upon the boy's arm, as the other was on his chest holding him in please,

"I told you, stop hitting on my girlfriend!"

The boy cried out in pain, dried blood cracking on his face as he shook his head,

"I don't know who, your girlfriend is!"

What was happening? She didn't have time to think. She had to act. As she charged at him, his eyes lifted to meet hers, joy spiralling deep. He's not well. Her arms hit his chest attempting to push him away,

"what are you playing at?"

"Don't act coy," he hissed stepping down harder, the cries increasing, "this is your fault."

Her fault? How was it her fault? She gritted her teeth, her breath becoming heavy.

"It's your lucky day little Johnny," he shoved Akasuki back as he clenched the boy's shirt lifting him to the ground, holding his head towards her, "this is Akasuki Au, remember her face and her name,"
