I'm sorry for being gone for so long. I honestly feel really bad but overall I'm doing well. I finally made a chapter which is a good thing since I was being productive lol but not really since I wrote this during my online classes. yes it's another Jeno imagine.
anyways this is a LONG imagine and when I mean long, I really mean it cause this is only part 1. there will be a part 2! I also don't think it's as good as I wanted it to be lmao so sorry about that. ive also been playing among us a lot too :/
p.s this story is based on The K2 which is very good k-drama that I would recommend if you wanted to watch it :) but with different features and such

"I'm leaving" your father glanced up at you and then looked back at the ground to avoid your eye contact.
"will you be back later for dinner, Mr. Cha?" the house keeper, Mrs. Hae asked.
"no, I won't be back" he says before he starts to make his way towards the front door. you watched him as he was walking away, wishing he would stay instead. you end up getting blocked by one of your father's best guards, Chief Joo.
"I'll come back later to check up on you. Thank you" he bows down towards you before turning around to head outside where your father was probably already waiting in the car. a few more guards walked out of the house and then eventually it was just you and Mrs. Hae alone in the living room.
"Miss cha, what would you like to eat for dinner tonight?" she asked.
"if you're making it, it won't matter what you make, I'll eat it anyways" you smiled as you took her hand and squeezed it lightly.
"and you don't have to keep calling me Miss cha, I told you that you can just call me y/n" she smiles back at you and nods her head.
"I'll start cleaning" she spoke softly as she let go of your hand. you let out a loud sigh, feeling tired and already bored. it was only noon and you honestly weren't sure what to do now.
there isn't really anything fun this house and you can't really talk to anyone since most of the people here were just guards. you made your way towards the long big stairway and touched the cold railing. you slowly caressed the railing as you walked up the stairs. then you were greeted by the empty long hallway with white doors placed on each side of the wall. you headed down towards the end of the hallway to get to your bedroom. you pushed down the fake golden door handle which eventually made a click noise.
"aish" you grumbled as you shut the door quietly. you looked around your room, already dreading the long hours of doing basically nothing. you head over to your desk where a couple of pens and markers were scrambled, your laptop, and a few pictures of you, your mother, and even your father. you sat down in chair, your eyes just kept staring at the picture of your beautiful mother who was holding you next to her.
"how are you mom?" you whispered.
"that's good" you forced a smile acting like she was there with you.
"dad left again, did you know? he's not coming back tonight. I wonder why, he's been doing this ever since you've been gone. he's still not talking to me, he ignores my existence. I sometimes think I did something wrong to make him dislike me so much. but, I know he's just busy. I tell myself that he's just busy. he is busy right?" you asked.
"of course, of course. dad is busy, thank you mom for reminding me" you spoke quietly.
"I miss you" you whispered.
"be safe okay?" you touched your mothers hair on the picture, pretending that you were actually touching her real hair like you did when you were younger.
"love you"

It was close to getting dark, you somehow was still actually hoping your father would come home.
"thank you for dinner Mrs. Hae" you flashed a smile at her as she was drying off a plate.
"I'll always take care of you Miss y/n. I'm glad you liked it and thank you for helping me clean up" she gave you a smile as well. you headed towards the living room where you were soon greeted by Chief Joo.
"Miss y/n" he bowed down, along with the other two guards next to him.
"ah Chief Joo" you smiled at him and the other guards. as they were bowing, you got a quick glance of another person wearing a suit just like what the other guards are wearing.
"I came by to do a quick check up and I just wanted to inform you that you'll have a new night guard keeping watch from now on" Chief explains.
"oh, so Agent Minjun won't be here anymore?" you asked, Chief shakes his head.
"he'll only be here during the day now and occasionally sometimes at night" Chief says, you gave him a little nod.
"this is J4" Chief and the other two suited up guards move over so they could reveal J4.
"he'll be the new night guard in the security room, he was just recruited" Chief says with a little uneasiness as he was staring at the new recruitment. the new recruitment seemed to be a bit young than you expected but you really can't say much when Minjun just recently hit 21.
'I wonder why they recruited him, they usually wouldn't do that unless he is extremely skilled' you thought as you continued to stare at him.
"M2, please take J4 to the security room and give him a brief explanation of what he'll need to do, you'll stay one more night but after today, you'll be on day shift" Minjun nods and gives Chief Joo a bow before taking the new recruitment to the security room. you take one more quick glance at the new guard as they walked past.
"that is all, we'll be going now" Chief takes another bow, along with the other two guards.
"if J4 happens to give any trouble, D1 and Y4 will be outside by the front gate" you give a nod at Chief Joo. He turns around and starts heading his way towards the front door but you say something that makes him stop in his tracks.
"will my dad come home tomorrow?" you stared at the Chiefs back, patentilly waiting for his answer.
"I do not want to give you hope Miss y/n, I'm sorry" he sighs loudly at the end of his sentence and continues to walk towards the door. all you could do was just sulk. you stopped by to see Mrs. Hae who was still cleaning up the kitchen to wish her a good night sleep before actually heading to your room.
"please sleep well" you tell her.
"you too Miss" she gave you a soft smile.

you carefully grabbed the two glass cups filled with water and headed over towards the security room.
"hello...? it's me y/n" you spoke out. within seconds, the door opens and there you are greeted by a smiley Minjun.
"what a surprise" he chuckles as he moves on over to the side to let you in.
"I brought you water" you carefully handed the heavy glass to him.
"ah thank you" he flashes you a smile before taking a sip of the fresh cold water.
"I brought you one too" you placed the glass on the table where the new guard was sitting and watching the cameras. he takes a quick glance at you before going back to look at the cameras.
"thank you" he says in an monotone voice.
"no problem" you spoke softly.
"was today another boring day?" Minjun chuckled as he placed the glass on a drawer.
"it was, I didn't get to do much like always" you say, he smiles to himself.
"well, now hopefully I could make it more fun during the day" he chuckles again.
"do you know when my dad will be back?" you asked but Minjun shrugged.
"I don't really know y/n, sorry. they don't really tell me those things" Minjun apologizes.
"ah don't worry, it's okay" you smile.
"you should go to bed, it's late" he puts a hand on your head and ruffles your hair.
"good night, I'll see you tomorrow morning" he flashes a smile as he follows you towards the door.
"take care, both of you" you say as you open the door.
"good night" as you close the door.

it's been a few days since the new recruitment came in. you really never see him besides him going into the security room to work and then coming out of it the next day at eight in the morning.
"bye Minjun" you whispered as he passed you. you could hear him chuckle as he walks past, you watched his back as he was heading towards the door. he raises up his hand and puts his two fingers together and brings it towards his head and then he moves them away from his head to mention you a good bye.
it was currently only nine-forty and you didn't really have much to do now that Minjun was gone. you were in your room watching another tv show that you really didn't want to pay attention too. you could go outside and chat with Yoojoon and Daechan but you didn't want to bother them because they are working and also they would most likely tell you to go back inside since it's dangerous. feeling bored of not moving too much, you finally get out of the covers and headed towards your bedroom door. you slowly pushed the handle down to open it quietly, you peeked outside in the hallway to see if anyone was there.
"where are you going?" Jeno mumbled to himself as he watched you on the cameras peeking your head out the door. he watches every single step you take in case you were in danger of some sort.
"where are you going?" he mumbles again, his eyebrows furrowed and he was biting the inside of his lip. he watches you as you head down the stairs but then loses you on the cameras since you entered a new room. he switches the cameras to try and find you.
"where are you?" he whispers as he switches camera 3 to camera 7.
"where are you?"
"where-"
"i'm right here" he quickly turns around to see you standing in the middle of the room wearing a pink turtle neck sweater, white pajama pants and a pair of socks.
"what are you doing in here?" he asks as he turns back to look at the cameras.
"I just wanted-"
"you should go back to your room, it could be dangerous" he sounded motionless again.
"but Minjun let's me be in here" you say.
"but you're forgetting that I'm not him" his eyes wander through the cameras.
"go back to your room, it can be dangerous" he says again.
"but you're here so i'm safe" he gulps and shakes his head side to side. he stands up from the leather chair and pushes it back. he turns around and faces you. he walks forward until he was standing in front of you.
"please do what I say" he sternly says.
"fine" you look away from him and headed towards the door. you opened it and shut it. Jeno sighs loudly and heads back to the cameras to see if you actually go to your room. he watches as you approach the stairs but you pause. instead of going upstairs into your room, you went ahead and went into the kitchen instead.
"what are you doing now?" he sighs rubbing his forehead slightly frustrated. you went ahead towards the cupboard and scattered through whatever was in there. Jeno being a bit intrigued of what you were trying to find, he leans forward so he could get a good look of what you were looking for. within seconds you finally pulled out a packet of ramen. all Jeno could do was just let out a laugh.
"that's it?" he mumbles. you placed a small pot of water onto the stove and turned the stove on. suddenly, a small smile could be seen on your face as you went over to drawer to grab a fork.
"unbelievable" Jeno laughs to himself at your unpredictable act. he didn't have anything better to do so he watched you as you were making yourself a pack of noodles. every once in awhile he would zoom in on you just to be 'extra pro-cautious' if there was someone behind you but it was honestly just because he wanted to see your face.

"J4, did you eat before coming here?" Minjun asked his fellow worker as he was about to pass him.
"no" Jeno states and continues to head towards the security room.
"Minjun is he always like that?" you whispered to him, he shrugged.
"I don't know, the other guys say that he's just a quiet and intimidating guy when he's over at HQ " he answers.
"do you know why they recruited him?" Minjun shakes his head.
"I don't" he mumbles.
"well, I have to go. good night, see you tomorrow" he fixes his sleeve and gives you a smile before heading out.
"be safe and good night" you quickly say before he was at a far distance.
it was now 11 at night and you were hungry again for the second time in the row. actually, you weren't hungry, you were just bored and wanted to do something other than watching tv. you went ahead and opened your door again to go out.
"what are you doing now?" Jeno whispered to himself as he sees you getting out of your room. you head down the stairs and into the kitchen like you did yesterday.
"again?" he lets out a laugh. you put a pot out onto the stove and turned it on, you quickly added water into the pot as well. you grabbed two eggs and small pan to fry the eggs. this was going to be all for yourself until you remembered something that happened earlier.
"hey, J4 did you eat before coming?"
"no"
instead of making one pack of noodles, you made two. It took you over about 10 minutes to finish making the whole thing. Jeno yawns and get's out of the chair. he heads over to the door and opens it. you see him walk out of the security room but he ignores your existence and heads to the bathroom. you quickly grab a bowl and added noodles, liquid and an egg into the bowl nicely. you quickly rushed into the security room with the bowl slowly burning your hands. you place it onto the desk and run back out to the kitchen to grab a cup of water. you hurried into the security room and placed the water next to the bowl and quickly left the security room.
you were grabbing yourself a bowl when he was exiting the bathroom. you chose to ignore him like he was doing to you and continued to do what you were doing. you could hear the door close as you were placing your noodles into the bowl. Jeno sighs as he looks at the ground and walks over to the desk. the smell of the noodles got into his senses, he looks up to see a white bowl and a glass of water. Jeno stared at the bowl of food, a bit surprised to see that there. Jeno takes a seat in the chair and looks for you with the cameras. he was watching you going to eat your food at the dinner table alone.
"I know it was you" he mumbles.
"thank you" he whispers, a small smile appears on his face. he couldn't help but smile because of a little thing you did.

It was the next night and Jeno was patiently waiting for you to leave your room. it hit 9, then 10, and now 11 but you still havent left your room.
"is she sleeping?" Jeno whispered to himself.
"why hasn't she came out yet?" he sighs loudly. he stands up from his chair and heads for the door. he opens the door widely and headed over to the bottom of the stairs. he looks up at the top of the stairs thinking you would come out but you don't.
eventually, he walks up the stairs where he gets to the top. he walks down to your bedroom door and leans in to see if he could hear anything. but there was nothing but silence. he slowly knocked on the door and waited for a few minutes to see if you were coming to open the door. slightly panicking, he goes ahead and opens the door. he enters your room and takes a look around. he walks around and sees scattered books on the coffee table that you had in your room. along with two book shelves at the ends of your L shaped couch.
he walks close to your desk where you had pictures of your father, your mother and of course you as well. Jeno bit the inside of his mouth, feeling a bit curious of where your mother is. he walks into the other room where your bed is, he see's a lump on your bed and lets out a sigh of relief. he was about to leave your room when he noticed your window was completely opened.
'why is this open?' he thought. he took a good look at the window and then glanced over at the bed. instantly, he headed over to the bed and ripped the covers off. it wasn't you who was in there, it was a few couple of pillows put together.
'shit' he quickly headed towards the window and got out onto the rooftop. he tapped on his earpiece so he could let the other guards know that you were missing from your room.
"this is J4, she-" he stops the second he sees you sitting on the rooftop.
"J4, Miss y/n is gone?" a guard talks through his earpiece.
"no, no. false alarm" Jeno muttered. he let out another sigh of relief but this one was bigger than before.
"why are you out here?" Jeno asked, you were startled by his voice.
"why are you here?" you asked.
"I asked first" he says as he walks over to you.
"I just wanted to clear my head" you tell him as you go back to looking at the sky.
"and now you're turn" you say as you inhaled the nice cool air.
"I was worried when you didn't try to sneak out to the kitchen for the third time in a row" he answers, you chuckle.
"I won't do that every night" Jeno glances at you but then quickly looks back at the color of the roof.
"but thank you for worrying over something little" he glances up once again to see a soft smile on your face even though you were looking at the pretty dark sky.
"thank you too" Jeno mutters looking down at the roof again.
"for what?" you asked.
'did you forget already? idiot' Jeno chuckled to himself quietly.
"for making me food last night" he says.
"don't worry, you didn't eat so I was worried. plus you won't have any energy to protect me if you don't eat" you were now looking at him. you took the chance to see his face clearly even though it was only his side profile.
"is something bothering you?" Jeno asked a bit curious remembering when you said the words 'just cleaning my mind'.
"not really, I'm just thinking about my mom" you sighed as you closed your eyes and faced the sky.
"where is she if you don't mind" Jeno says, you pointed to the sky. he looks at where you're pointing.
"...what happened?" Jeno asked quietly, the mood was slowly changing.
"she was hit by a drunk driver and the police tried to find whoever hit her but my dad told me that they couldn't find the driver" you explained all Jeno could do was stay quiet, he felt bad for asking.
"what about you?" you asked, looking at him. he was now finally looking at you, so both of you shared eye contact with each other.
"what?" he raises a brow.
"Chief Joo would never recruit someone out of nowhere unless you were extremely good. to me, on the first day you came, he looked hesitant of you" Jeno stayed quiet again, wondering on what he should tell you.
"to be honest-"
"J4, you're not in the security room where are you?" Jeno's earpiece turns on.
"bathroom" Jeno answered back.
"hurry back" then his earpiece was off.
"come back inside, it's not safe out here" Jeno grunts as he stands up and shakes off his pants.
"okay" you got up and dusted yourself off as well. you took a step forward but then quickly slipped back. Jeno jumped forward to help you but instead, he got hurt. you slipped but you didn't fall back or anything, you were perfectly fine. you stared at Jeno who was on his back groaning for a few seconds.
"are you okay?" Jeno looked up to see you staring right at him. he quickly got up and acted like he was fine.
"yeah of course, why wouldn't I be" Jeno grunted and quickly dusted him self off again. you let out a few laughs.
"let's go" Jeno groaned letting you go first back into your room.

"J4, how was last night?" Chief Joo approaches Jeno at the HQ lobby.
"it was fine" Jeno stated as he was about to walk past him.
"aish you're so rude" Leader Jaesuk pushes Jeno on the back.
"it's alright Jaesuk" Chief chuckled at the two guys.
"J4, go get some rest" Jeno nods at him, leader Jaesuk follows him into the elevator.
"y/n's mom, she died because of a drunk driver right?" Jaesuk glances at Jeno.
"yeah why?" Jaesuk leans against the wall of the elevator.
"and police didn't find the person?" Jaesuk shook his head.
"not that I know of" he mumbles.
"what about you guys?" Jeno asked.
"y/n's dad, Mr. Cha didn't want us to get involved" Jeno curiously looked at him.
"why not?" Jeno questioned.
"i don't know, you ask a lot of questions" Jaesuk sighs loudly. the elevator stops and Jaesuks exits. Jeno exits as well and heads towards the guys locker room.
"oh look it's J4, the new recruit" Jaehoon laughs as he throws an arm around Jeno.
"going to the locker room right? I'm going there too" Jeno stares at him and decides to ignore him.
"I'm J3, i'm right before you" Jaehoon chuckles some more.
"a lot of the guys talk about you here, saying that you're scary looking and what not. they're also pretty upset because they had to all train for this but you got recruited right away and you already have a shift. we've been here for a while, while you haven't" Jaehoon says. even though Jeno didn't want pay any attention to the guy, he still listened to what he was saying.
"how long have you been here?" Jeno asked finally trying to make a conversation with him.
"oh you talk! the guys say you don't talk at all! what a surprise. maybe I am god" Jaehoon laughs, Jeno rolls his eyes.
"I've been here for three years already, if you're wondering i'm 26 right now" Jaehoon smiles, Jeno just nods.
"and you've been here for what? almost two weeks now?" Jaehoon asked, Jeno nods again.
"cool cool" Jaehoon chuckles some more.
'26 yet still acts like a teenager, nice to know' Jeno chuckled to himself.
"oh! did I just make you laugh?" Jaehoon stops in his tracks.
"no" Jeno mumbled and continued to walk to the locker room.
"I think I did! I have to tell the guys!" Jaehoon starts sprinting towards the locker room.
"hey- don't!" Jeno went ahead to chase him down.

"ay, theres no way you made him laugh" Sungho told Jaehoon.
"I mean look at him, he's rock solid right now" Sungho says looking at Jeno.
"I did! I promise, right Jeno?" Jaehoon was now looking at him too.
"eat your food" everyone around him started to shove food into their mouths.
"you think Minjun is bored right now?" Chul asked the people at the table.
"probably, he has nothing better to do than watch Mr. Cha's daughter" Daeshim mutters.
"hey" Jeno suddenly speaks up out of the blue, everyone around him instantly stops what their doing.
"when did y/n's mother die?" Jeno questioned.
"uhm about over year now. August 24th. why?" Taehwan answered.
"and no one knows who killed her?" Jeno asked, they all nod.
"Mr. Cha decided to blow it off which stinks because now he changed. especially towards his daughter. which is why y/n always asks if her father will be home the next day or not. he doesn't talk to her anymore from what I heard" Sungho says as he stabs his salad with a fork.
"Mr. Cha's been sleeping at hotels from what I heard from Leader Jaesuk" Chul says.
"why would he decide to blow it off?" Jeno asked another question.
"who knows, it's Mr. Cha he could do whatever he wants" Daeshim shrugged.
"her death really affected her daughter. Minjun and I were at the house guarding when we got the news. I didn't have the heart to tell her so Minjun did it instead. it was so sad to see her sobbing" Taehwan ached.
"Minjun apparently comforted her while Taehwan stood like a coward in the corner" Sungho pushes Taehwan.
"that's how Minjun and y/n got close but we're not supposed to be saying it freely like that" Junghoon laughed.
"number one rule from Mr. Cha, no falling for his daughter on the job" Chul laughed.
"why are you so curious?" Daeshim asked Jeno was in deep thoughts.
"she told me yesterday when we were on the rooftop together looking at the stars" Jeno says before drinking his water.
"you two were on the roof together?" Chul looked at him wide-eyed.
"yeah, I thanked her for making me food the other night and I got worried when she didnt try and sneak out of her room like she did before" Jeno took another sip of his water.
"she made you food?!" Junghoon slapped his back which caused Jeno to spit the water out of his mouth.
"oh...hehe my bad" Junghoon chuckled, Jeno just let out an annoyed groan.
"it seems like you two are getting attached to each other" Sungho chuckled as well.
"sure" Jeno muttered as the other guys start becoming rowdy.

"bye Minjun, see you tomorrow" you whispered to him.
"see ya, sleep tight" Minjun chuckled as he walked out the door. you watched as he went towards a black sedan. the driver's door suddenly opens and out comes Lee Jeno. Minjun takes his place in the driver's seat and Jeno walks up the stairs to get to your front door.
"hello" you flashed a smile at him, all he does lifts his head at you before walking past you.
it was getting late again as usual and Jeno noticed that you didn't come and sneak out again. he got up and headed out of the security room to go to your room. he walked in quietly and closed the door. a cold breeze hit him, thats when he knew you were outside once again. he grunts as he crawls out of your window to get onto the roof.
"looking for me?" you asked not even bothering to look at him.
"yeah" Jeno sits on the opposite side of you but far enough to give you some space.
"are you not cold?" Jeno asked looking at how you were wearing just a simple t-shirt.
"only a bit" you say. Jeno nods and looks down at the red colored roof. he then decides to take off his jacket and throws it on you.
"it's alright I'm-"
"just wear it" Jeno cuts you off. it was dead silent for a while. neither of you talked, just enjoyed the pretty stars and the shining moon.
"is there...something that you wished you could do?" you broke the silence with a question.
"like what?" Jeno wondered.
"like for me, I wished I could find out who killed my mother. I won't get upset or angry, I would just like to know" you spoke softly.
"I don't have any I think" Jeno says.
'but I do have one now' Jeno stared at you while you looked up at the sky.
"will you go back inside?" Jeno asked you.
"I will go if you tell me too" you tell him.
"do you want me to?" Jeno shook his head.
"stay if you want, just be safe" you nodded your head and went back to looking at the sky. Jeno crawled back into your room and pulled out his cellphone.
'here's our phone number, but call me when you need something. only me'
'go away jaehoon gosh'
'watch chul, he'll call me first because i'm his new best friend'
"Jaehoon" Jeno spoke.
"oh Jeno! woah is it really you? ha chul! you sucker!" Jaehoon laughs loudly through the phone. Jeno just heaves a sigh and waits for him to finish his little celebration.
"are you done?" Jeno asked once there was silence.
"yes" Jaehoon says.
"tomorrow morning, have everyone meet up at the cafeteria"
"why?" Jaehoon asked.
"just because" Jeno headed towards the bedroom door to get out.
"you're younger than me you know that right? I think I deserve the ri-"
"okay bye bye" with that Jeno ends the call.
"that little punk-" Jaehoon sighs.

"hey Jeno!" Jaehoon waves his arms around so Jeno could see him. Jeno heads towards the group of guys and takes a seat next to Daeshim.
"what do you want?" Sungho asked.
"y/n's mother" Jeno states.
"uhm, not to ruin anything but she died..." Jaehoon scratches the back of his head.
"he knows that dummy" Taehwan hits the back of Jaehoon's head.
"yesterday, I was with y/n and she asked me if I wished there was something I could do. I asked her what did she mean by that and she told me that she wished to find the drunk driver that killed her mother" Jeno explained, the others nodded.
"I told her I didn't have one at the moment but I do now" Jeno mumbles.
"and that is?" Chul asked.
"to help her find the drunk driver that killed her mother" Jeno stated.
"can I say something my friend?" Daeshim patted Jeno's shoulder.
"what?" Jeno raised a brow.
"you my friend are whipped" Daeshim chuckled with a few of the other guys.
"and as kids now say it, a simp" Sungho laughs.
"whatever" Jeno rolled his eyes.
"will you help me or not?" Jeno looked at each of the guys and each of them looked at each other.
"we're in!" Jaehoon randomly shouts.
"wait Jaehoon-"
"great, now her folder would have to be at the police station right?" Jeno questioned.
"uhm most likely in a storage underneath the police station yea, why?" Chul asked.
"we'll be breaking in and finding it tomorrow night if they're not willing to give us the report" Jeno stands up.
"breaking in?" Sungho stared at him.
"yah Jaehoon!" Taehwan slapped his back.
"I have to go and rest but two of you can go to the police station and see if you can get that folder, understand?" Jeno asked, the guys all nodded.
"I can't believe we're taking orders from a kid younger than us" Chul drinks from his water bottle.
"unbelievable right?" Sungho laughed.
"operation finding out who killed y/n's mother time" Jaehoon got up as well.
"let's just call it operation Y/N" Taehwan said standing up as well.
"sure. thanks" with that Jeno leaves the others alone to do whatever they need to do to help you find who killed your mother.
again part 2 will be out sometime soon. sorry for making you all wait for another chapter and I apologize for this being so long lol. it wasn't the best in my opinion but I'm just glad I'm back doing writing. take care everyone <3
