"Hello, hello, my big girl,"Harry greets flickering on the lights of Darcy's room. Darcy whines and flips over so her back is to Harry, cuddling herself in closer to the comforter.
"Oh? Are you not gonna get up today?"Harry quietly chuckles coming over to stand by Darcy's bed, "that's odd, I thought you would be so excited to be a big girl and go to school. I guess not, maybe mummy will have to take your place instead."
"No!"Darcy's head pops up from her pillow and looks at Harry, "I want to go to school!"
"Oh, you do,"Harry smirks sitting down on Darcy's bed and reaching his arms out to her as she climbs into his lap. She sits sideways with her cheek resting on his chest. His lips find the top of her head as he rocks side to side gently, "good cuz I don't think mummy wants to take your place." Darcy snuggles her cheek in further to Harry's chest.
"Should we get dressed? Mumma made you a special breakfast,"Harry whispers before kissing her forehead.
"No, I want more snuggles,"Darcy mumbles with a yawn.
"Well how could I ever say no to that,"Harry grins, combing Darcy's stray curls back from her forehead.
He holds her tighter to his chest and begins to wonder how his baby girl got so big. He thinks back to that September day in his room where Camryn told him she was pregnant. He thinks about all the tears that were shed that day and thinks of how silly they were to cry. Why were they sad? That little bean of a person in Camryn's stomach would turn out to be the best thing that could've happened to them and one of their 4 greatest blessings.
It feels like just yesterday she was being placed on Camryn's chest and he could instantly feel his life change. He thinks about how Camryn looked up at him in awe of what she had just done, what they had created. There are moments in life that happen where you just know you'll life will never be the same and that was one of them.
He thinks about little newborn Darcy being placed onto his 17 year old chest for the first time. He thinks about how the room stilled and he couldn't focus on anything but her. Because suddenly nothing else mattered. None of the things that would normally interest 17 year old boys interested him anymore because he had something greater than they had. He had a daughter, a little 5 pound baby that depended on him, and it was the most exhilarating and terrifying thing all at once.
He thinks about all of her firsts, her first steps, word, smile and he can't help but get emotional as he stares down at the little girl in his arms, who's not so little anymore. Don't be fooled, she's still considerably smaller than most 5 year olds, she has always has been petite, but compared to little 5 pound newborn Darcy that she once was, she suddenly feels gigantic in Harry's arms.
"I love you, baby girl,"Harry whispers gently kissing her lips, "thank you for being you. You're amazing you know that, right?"
"I know,"Darcy coyly smirks up at him, her eyes glistening.
Harry laughs at her response and nuzzles his nose against hers, "we should probably get you dressed now, we don't want to be late on your first day!"
"Okayyy,"Darcy relents, rubbing her eyes and yawning hugely.
Harry gently sets Darcy on the floor and picks up the uniform on her dresser that Camryn set out the night before. He helps Darcy put on her school uniform which consists of a collared short sleeve olive green shirt, a black pleated skirt, black tights, and black glossy new flats.
"Mummy will do your hair while you eat breakfast,"Harry tells Darcy as he grabs her hand and leads her down the stairs.
"Oh my goodness, it's my baby who's all grown up,"Camryn gushes with a pout rushing towards Darcy to give her a hug.
"Hi mummy,"Darcy smiles, embracing Camryn tighter.
"Good morning baby girl,"Camryn gives Darcy a kiss on the cheek, "are you so excited for school?"
"Uh huh,"Darcy smiles and pulls away from Camryn to show off her new uniform, doing a little twirl.
"Oh, so pretty!"Camryn gushes as she watches Darcy twirl, "you're so gorgeous."
Darcy runs to the table to begin on her breakfast, "Pancakes!"
"Yep! Special pancakes for your special day!"Camryn smiles as she scoops a pancake onto Darcy's plate.
Harry looks at Lennon, who is sitting next to Darcy, and watches as he shovels pieces of pancake into his mouth at an impressive speed. He chuckles and walks over to Lennon to ruffle a hand through his hair, "don't forget to breathe, bud. Slow down, you'll get a tummy ache."
"D-D-D-Daddy!"Auggie exclaims from across the table, wanting attention too.
"Hi, my buddy,"Harry smiles walking over to Auggie and running a hand through his blonde waves, "oh dude, how did you already get syrup in your hair?" Auggie giggles up at Harry, guiltily with syrup smeared across both of his cheeks.
Bowie babbles from his highchair with pieces of pancakes smushed between his hands. "Oh do you need Daddy's attention too?"Harry coos as he leans over to Bowie and kisses his cheek, "don't worry I didn't forget about you, bubby."
Camryn walks over to stand behind Darcy's chair and begins to pull her curly hair into two high pigtails that rest on the top of her head.
"Hello Styles family, your favorite uncle has arrived,"a thick Doncaster accent greets walking through the front door.
"Lou!"Lennon exclaims as soon as Louis walks through the kitchen doorway.
"Lennie!"Louis matches Lennon's excitement and catches him as he runs into his arms.
"Hey Lou, you doing good?"Camryn greets with Darcy's hair still in her hands.
"Very well, thank you babe. And you?"Louis responds giving Camryn a kiss on her cheek with Lennon on his hip.
"Hey mate,"Harry greets as Louis leans down to fist bump Auggie and then ruffle his hair.
"Hey mate, just so you know, giving this mess of a syrup child a bath was not in the contract I agreed to last night,"Louis jokes looking at Auggie who somehow has found new places to get syrup in.
Harry laughs and shakes his head as he throws more scraps of pancakes onto Bowie's plate, "I think it would be a great job for you, get you ready for parenthood."
"Yeah, I think I'm alright with learning when I have to. This one is all yours,"Louis laughs setting Lennon back down in his chair so he can finish eating his breakfast.
"Darling, how did you get so old?"Louis asks Darcy giving her a kiss on the cheek, "what happened to my newborn baby girl with tiny curls?"
"I've been asking myself the same thing,"Camryn frowns, combing Darcy's hair flat.
"I'm a big girl now,"Darcy informs Louis.
Louis chuckles and looks over at Harry, "have fun with this one, mate." Harry rolls his eyes jokingly at Louis.
"Lou, there's extra pancakes on the pan if you want,"Camryn offers cocking her head in the direction of the stove.
"I might just have to take you up on that offer, thank you missus,"Louis smiles walking over to the pan and shoving half of a pancake into his mouth.

"Alright Darce, do you remember what mummy and I talked to you about,"Harry asks as soon as they're on the road going towards her school.
"Yes,"Darcy replies looking out the window in her carseat with her little legs bouncing off of the seat, "I'm suppose to be nice to my classmates and say hi to them."
"Uh huh,"Harry nods his head smiles at her through the rearview mirror, "and?"
"And listen to my teacher and do what she says,"Darcy repeats the mantra Camryn and Harry have been telling her for the past week.
"And the most important thing is?"Camryn asks, grabbing Harry's hand that's not on the wheel and intertwining their fingers.
"Have fun and learn lots,"Darcy smiles happily pulling on the seatbelt, anxious to get out of the car.
"Good job, babes,"Harry smirks as he pulls into a parking spot.
Darcy unbuckles herself and jumps out of the car. Camryn grabs her left hand and Harry grabs her right as they walk towards the school.
"What do you think, Darce?"Harry asks squeezing Darcy's hand.
"It's a little too big,"Darcy whispers, halting in her walking and looking fearfully up at Harry and Camryn.
"Oh baby, don't worry it's not that big,"Camryn promises squeezing Darcy's hand reassuringly, "it's just big because it has to fit a lot of classrooms for kids in it."
"Okay,"Darcy warily agrees as she slowly begins to walk again.
Harry looks down at Darcy cautiously and can tell that there is still a lot of fear in her little body. He looks at Camryn and realizes she's doing the exact same thing he is, studying their little girl, trying to figure out how to calm her nerves. Harry gives Camryn a hopeful smirk and she returns one too.
They enter though the gates and walk Darcy to her classroom. A lady in her mid thirties is standing outside of the door welcoming in other children. Most are doing fine, excited to start something new and running into the classroom. Others are being a little more cautious and staying close to their parents. And then there's the other group of children, 3 of them, that are crying their eyes out with their parents desperately trying to calm them.
"Hello,"the teacher greets, her eyes finally falling upon the Styles family.
"Hi,"Harry replies shaking her hand and Camryn follows his lead.
Darcy cautiously looks up at the unfamiliar woman, shoving her body closer against Harry's leg.
"And what's your name, my love?"the woman asks squatting down to get eye to eye with Darcy.
"Darcy,"Darcy responds in a whisper, barely loud enough to hear over the chaos around her.
"Darcy? That is a beautiful name. My name is Miss Jones. It's so nice to meet you,"the teacher smiles sweetly at Darcy.
Darcy keeps her grip firm in her parent's hands, "nice to meet you."
"Oh, you're so polite. I can already tell you're going to do so well in school! Are you excited?"Miss Jones asks.
Darcy smiles very shyly and gently nods her head.
"A little nervous, I think,"Harry tells the teacher.
Miss Jones nods and stands up looking at Camryn and Harry, "take all the time you need. I'll be inside whenever she's ready to come in."
"Thank you,"Camryn responds as Harry kneels down in front of Darcy.
"Are you ready to go in?"Harry asks Darcy, smiling encouragingly at her.
"No, my tummy hurts. I wanna go home,"Darcy feebly mumbles.
"Oh baby,"Harry frowns cupping her cheek with his hand, "your tummy probably just hurts because you're nervous. Daddy's tummy hurts sometimes too when I perform."
"I wanna go home,"Darcy's voice shakes and her lips tremble as fear overrides her tiny body.
"Baby,"Camryn coos hugging her tightly to her chest, "you're okay. You're going to have so much fun, I promise. You'll meet so many new friends and learn so much."
Harry rubs Darcy's back as Camryn continues to coo gently to her as her sobs continue.
"I don't want to go. Mummy,"Darcy cries looking up at Camryn, "I want to stay home with you and Lennie and Auggie and Bowie."
"Honey,"Camryn frowns kissing the top of Darcy's head and squeezing her body closer, "it's only for a couple hours. I promise you, you'll have so so much fun."
"How about this, Darce,"Harry says leaning his head down to look at Darcy's blue eyes, "you go in to your classroom and have so much fun and then tonight in a celebration we'll go out to dinner, just you me and mummy and get ice cream too and you can tell us all about your first day. Sound like a deal?"
"Deal,"Darcy sniffles.
"Alright, sweet thing,"Camryn says using her fingers to wipe Darcy's tears, "I love you so so much. You're going to have so much fun, okay?"
"Okay,"Darcy agrees, nodding.
"I love you,"Camryn promises giving Darcy a kiss on the lips.
"Love you,"Darcy sniffles.
Harry places his hands on Darcy's upper arms and kisses her lips, "you're my brave girl, huh?"
"Uh huh,"Darcy responds, searching Harry's eyes.
"I love you very much,"Harry promises, cupping Darcy's cheeks with his hands, "can I have a pretty and brave smile?" Harry smiles hugely at Darcy causing her to giggle and look over at Camryn who is copying Harry and also smiling hugely. Darcy returns a smile as she giggles.
"That's better,"Harry smirks standing up and grabbing Darcy's hand again. All three of them walk towards the door.
"Go ahead, babe, it will be fun, I promise,"Camryn urges Darcy on as she watches her little girl cautious look inside.
Darcy walks through the door and turns around to look at Harry and Camryn who both give her a thumbs up with the big goofy smiles appearing again.
Darcy smirks at her parents and then walks over to her teacher who takes her to her seat.
Camryn and Harry walk back to the car hand in hand. "You think she'll have fun, right?"Camryn asks Harry, beginning to get a little worried about their little girl.
"She will, I'm 100 percent sure,"Harry nods, wrapping his arm around Camryn and squeezing her tightly to his side, "she'll love it. Once she meets a friend she'll have no problem going."
Camryn nods her head as Harry opens the car door for her. "Thank you, baby,"Camryn says sitting down in the car seat and puckering her lips for a kiss. Harry quickly kisses Camryn's lips and then walks over to his side of the car.
"How are we old enough to have a child in school?"Camryn laughs, flinging her hair back against the headrest.
Harry chuckles as he rests his head against the headrest too, "I don't know. Where did the time go? Where did our little baby go?"
"I don't know, but stop talking about it, you're going to make me cry,"Camryn smirks, turning her head to look over at Harry.
"You know?"Harry smirks devilishly cocking an eyebrow up, "I bet Louis wouldn't mind watching the kids a bit longer."
"What are you suggesting, Mister?"Camryn flirts.
"I thought we could have a little fun, ya know? Since we're feeling so old with our baby girl going to school. Maybe feel a bit young again,"Harry responds shrugging in a fake innocence.
"Don't have to tell me twice,"Camryn giggles as she begins to climb in the back of the car with Harry quickly following behind, "maybe if we wait long enough Tommo will give in and bathe Auggie."
"Is that a challenge?"Harry asks.
"It may be,"Camryn flirts and she uses her hands to wrap around Harry's neck and bring his lips down to hers.
