A/N : Probably overreacting but- TYSM FOR 2K READS AJDBDIXNC
...maybe I'll do a Two Heroes special for either 50 votes or a certain number of reads.. what do y'all think? I really wanna write a special for Heroes Rising too but we'll see aha. Also, fun fact; I couldn't decide whether to name this awkward encounters or awkward cinnamon rolls, but since the last chapter with Endeavour had 'encounters' in it I decided to switch is up lol. We do be loving our cinnamon rolls though 😌✨

Y/N

It was finally the day we were leaving for internships! I'd talked to Shinso a bit the day we initially picked our places, and finally invited him over to introduce him to our many cats, which he appreciated immensely. I think he and Dad hit it off pretty well.

I finally managed to fix up my sleep schedule to an extent, and was currently jumping around the train station as my classmates and I waited for our designated rides to arrive.

"Hey Todo-kun! Who're you interning with this week?" I asked the duo-hair coloured boy next to me.

"I'm actually going to be heading over to my father's agency," he relied, although I couldn't help but notice the look of distaste he had when he uttered the word 'father'. "I heard you'll be joining me?"

I was surprised, but then remembered how Deku had accidentally shouted it out.. oh well. "Let's have a good week!" I smiled warmly, "I'll see you on our train then, a Todo-kun!"

I skipped over to where Uraraka and Deku were seeing off Iida, whose train had already arrived. I shot them a grin before pulling them into a group hug, which they quickly returned.

"Owh.. I'll miss you guys so much! By the way Deku, who're you interning with?" I asked, tilting my head every so slightly.

"Ah! I don't think you'd know him, but he goes by Gran Torino. Apparently her mentored All Might himself!" He whispered the last bit excitedly into my ear. Little did he know, I was actually quite familiar with the old guy, keeping in touch with him throughout the years.

"Oh cool! I do know him actually, aha.. tell him I said hi! Also, I should warn you he can be a little.. confusing, at times. And if you ever wanna get on his good side, cinnamon rolls are a must!" I laughed, although it wasn't really a joke. That sweet old man had a thing for sweets and cinnamon rolls were no exception.

"Oh... thanks for the advice, Y/N!" I grinned before turning to Uraraka.

"Uraraka! Best of luck with your internship this week!"

"Aww, thanks Y/N," she replied sweetly.

"And Iida! I don't know if you have stuff going on with your personal life right now, and I won't pry but you we're all friends, right? That means you can lean on us!"

Deku echoed my sentiments, Uraraka following soon afterwards as well.

"I know.." he trailed off, looking away as if he was embarrassed or something, before rushing off to his train. I sighed, hoping he'd sort out whatever it was he was going through eventually.

My gut began to ache again for some reason as I watched the train Iida boarded speed away.

'What in the world..? What was it? What's happening in Hosu?'

I waved goodbye to my other two close friends before rejoining Todoroki, still immersed in my thoughts.

'Hosu.. city..? Wait a second-'

I whipped out my phone and pulled up some of the recent news and statistics on the hero killer.

'According to Dad, he's never struck in one place only once. There were always multiple deaths. But where was the recent one?'

I felt like my stomach had dropped when I read the news: 'The Hero Killer Has Claimed Another Victim : The Hero Ingenium, Otherwise Known As Tensei.. Iida?!'

I prayed that Iida wouldn't be trying to attempt anything while he was in Hosu, but grief could drive people to do unimaginable things. The Hero Killer mostly worked with swords and knives apparently, stabbing his victims often to death. It was a miracle Iida's, what I'd assumed to brother or cousin considering the age gap, had survived. 'Knives.. just like him.'

I shuddered, remembering vaguely the events of that night. Over time the memories had faded, but the fear and despair popped up clear and fresh in my mind whenever I thought about it, do I'd eventually learned to push it out.

"Y/N, are you feeling alright? Are you cold?"

Todoroki asked me, shaking me out of my small trance. I smiled, slightly weaker than usual, hoping he hadn't noticed anything. "I'm fine! Just thinking about some stuff," I told him, to which he'd responded with barely visible frown. "I ah.. don't mean to bring up anything that might be unpleasant for you, but will you be alright? For the internships, I mean."

I noticed his eyes widened slightly before returning to their usual state. "No, it's alright. I'll be fine, thank you for your concern," he answered plainly, though I could hear a teensy waver in his otherwise steady tone.

I grabbed onto his hand, squeezing it gently. "Well, I'll be there with you if you need anything!" I grinned at him, to which he just turned away for some reason. Also, the tips of his ears appeared to be a little pink, although I wasn't sure why. 'He didn't seem sick... I think?'

"Thank you, Y/N."

"Anytime, Todo-kun!"

We took our seats next to each other, sitting in comfortable silence as we made our way to Endeavour's Hero Agency. Soon enough, we'd reached our stop and made our way to the building, which was actually pretty close by. Eventually, we arrived, collecting ourselves before we were to walk in.

I glanced at him, noticing he looked a little on-edge. "You ready?"

"...Yeah," and with that we entered the building hand in hand, a way of keeping our nerves in check of sorts. The receptionist was actually quite kind when we revealed ourselves to be UA students, informing us our mentor was waiting a few floors above.

The silence we'd kept up until had only gotten thicker with tension the closer we got to the designated floor. I gave Todoroki a light squeeze and a reassuring smile, to which he seemed to have returned gratefully.

*Ping*

Todo-kun and I made our way to the room where we found the number 2 hero, Endeavour waiting patiently behind his desk. It was definitely.. awkward, although even that could've been considered an understatement. I didn't know what else to do, but the tension in the room could've been cut with a knife at that point, so:

I bowed, exclaiming, "Thank you for taking us on as interns this week! I hope we can learn a lot from you, Mr. Endeavour, sir!"

I could hear Todoroki chuckling slightly from beside me, a tiny yet bemused smile on his face, dropping the expression quickly as he addressed his dad, "Hello, Father."

I peeked up in time to see the pro hero grunt before telling us, "Today you'll be getting settled into your room, and we'll be doing some training in the evening after I'm finished with patrol. Understand?"

I nodded quickly, while the boy next to me just replied with a quick, "Sure," before exiting with me.

"Hey hey!! That wasn't so bad, I think..?"

Todoroki chuckled again, slightly louder than last time. "I didn't expect you to do that though," he told me with somewhat of a.. teasing smile on his face.

"Ahaha.. yeah, I guess I just got a little nervous. Your dad is kind of intimidating, Todo-kun," I changed the topic before realizing it might've been an uncomfortable topic for him. "O-oh! By the way, did I hear wrong or did he say we were sharing a room?" I looked at him for an answer, only to see his eyes had widened significantly.

"Right. Yes, I suppose we will be. There should be two beds though. The agency isn't typically designed to house guests, so there aren't exactly an abundance of extra rooms around here, unless you count the storage closets."

"I see.. well, I guess we're roommates for the week then!" I exclaimed excitedly.

"Yeah.."

We fell into our comfy silence once again, both of us seemingly, and hopefully content with just walking without words.

"We're here~" I noted, although it was quite obvious already. I was quite fascinated at how large our temporary living quarters were, considering the room was only for guests. There was a large window wall that overlooked the city, a small kitchen, and the main living space being surprisingly quite spacious. On the opposite side of the window stood a doorway, where we'd entered to find the living room with a connecting bathroom.

Sure, I'd lived in a pretty modern house as a child. Dad was a pro and received decent pay, so it wasn't like I'd never seen super extravagant things before. But the entire apartment-like quarters were so fancy. Sleek, elegant, majestic, you name it. It was far beyond anything I'd have ever expected for a mere guest suite, but I supposed considering his ranking it wasn't all too surprising.

So we both set up our beds and stuff before agreeing to go to the training room a little earlier for some warm-ups.

As I looked at him while we walked out the door, I couldn't help but think that everything was going to be just fine.

Oh how wrong I was.
