The Quidditch match was over and I was sitting by the lake when I suddenly saw Ron walking past.
"Hey man!" I called. He turned to me quickly- startled.
"Oh. It's you," He said when he procced who he saw, I looked him over, he seemed down, probably about the game.
"Want to sit? The waters really nice tonight?" I said settling back down into my spot. He shrugged and came over,
"You see the game?" He asked glumly, then he snorted, "Of course you did everyone got to see firsthand-"
"No," I said he looked at me
"No?" He asked and I shook my head
"No. I didn't see the game. I don't like heights, and even if I did, I wouldn't sit with Slytherin after I heard what they were saying." I explained, "I did hear about it though, I sat not to far away and listened to Lee for a bit, and then when Draco came back to the dorms, his attitude told me the rest, that's actually why I'm out here, couldn't stand it anymore." I explained. I didn't congratulate him, not yet. He stared at the water
"I was rubbish," He said bluntly. I nodded
"They got to you, didn't they?" I asked, even though we both knew the answer
"I know I shouldn't let them..." He started, but I interrupted
"Why shouldn't you?" I asked
"What do you mean?"
"I asked, why you shouldn't let them get to you?" I repeated he looked at me confused.
"They wanted a reaction out of me and I gave it to them," He explained. I sighed and turned to him
"You can use it, use the anger, the embarrassment, the nervousness. You can turn it into fuel, yes, they want a reaction, but you don't have to give them the one they want. Give them a reaction, they won't be likely to forget." I explained. He looked towards me.
"Why are you doing this?" He asked, "You're a Slytherin," He said like that explained the question. I turned back to the lake.
"From what I saw of your rehearsal you are a great player." I said
"But that was rubbish too!" Ron said looking startled
"Maybe to you... but that just showed me how much you have worked to get on that team, how much you had practiced, and how much you were willing to practice." I said, "Sometimes you have talent, and other times you have hard work, put them together you will be unstoppable." I stood up, brushing off my pants, "You Ronald Weasley, have both talent and you have put in so much hard work. Just don't let yourself get into your head." I said turning to leave, "I'll let you think it over,"
"I'm sorry," He said stopping me. I paused
"For what?" I asked, he didn't answer just kept staring back out onto the water. I turned and left. He needed time to think.
