AHHHHH this took me so long to make! I apologize if it's long, I did it really long because I like long stories and it took me forever to post so there ya go. if I don't end up getting distracted tomorrow, the nct dream zombie book will be out. I promised that I would publish it this weekend so like yeah :)
I don't have a good title for the zombie book. literally the title that I have right now is legit just 'zombie' -nct dream. so if any of you want to pitch in, go ahead and do so! hey also thanks for patiently waiting, I know I took EXTREMELY long to put it out. I hope you enjoy it though honestly and don't worry this book will also keep going!

"sorry i'm late!" I say rushing past the other workers who were here. you headed over to the make-up section and tossed your bag underneath the counter. you turn on the lights that were on the mirror's edges and looked in the drawers to see organized makeup materials.
"you finally decided to show up" you glance up to see your friend Arin giggling. you let out an exhausting sigh.
"I woke up late again but if anyone asks, just tell them I was stuck in traffic" Arin giggles again at you.
"are they here yet?" you hear someone yell.
"they're coming in right now!" another person yells back.
"whew, came in just in time" you chuckled.
"bye, bye. got to go put makeup on Taeil" Arin flashes you a smile before moving away from you.
today was going to be a busy day. nct, a korean boy group who has lots of members and lots of potential was doing a photo shoot. you were called in yesterday night to arrive at a warehouse at 5 in the morning the next day. you've only worked with nct once and that was for 'Black on Black' but you went home early since you weren't actually putting make up on them, you were more just assisting Arin whenever she needed you. so today, you were kind of excited to meet them and work with them, even though you'll only be working with just one of them. not gonna lie, you were a huge fan of them but you can't show it. you were a huge red velvet fan and when you got to work with them, you freaked out a little bit and it showed. the managers told you to act professionally but honestly, red velvet didn't care much and was quite fond of your excitement.
"Jeno, y/n will be assisting you today" a staff member pulls out the chair to have Jeno sit down.
"thank you" he flashed the staff a smile. the staff smiles back and then takes you to tell you what they would like for you to do. after a while, you finally got back to Jeno who was staring at his phone with Airpods inside his ears. he glances up to see you and then he takes out his airpods and puts it in his case.
"you're y/n right?" you took a glance at him and nodded.
"were you the girl who almost fell while running inside the building?" he raised a brow, you let out a little groan.
"you saw that?" he chuckles at you.
"okay well uhm, not going to lie, you are technically the first guy I am putting make up on" you tell him, he smiles.
"so I'm your first? that's wonderful news for me" he chuckles cutely as you open up the powder.
"yeah, I have only worked with red velvet the whole time I've been working here. so yeah, you would be my first for males" you say applying the powder on his face carefully and softly.
"weren't you helping when we were doing our shoot for Black on Black? I remember your face quite clearly" he says, you nodded.
"I was helping by just gathering things for other makeup artists, I didn't really apply any makeup on any of you. I'm surprised at the fact that you remembered me, it's been three years since that happened" you moved to grab the concealer while putting the powder away on the table.
"why wouldn't remember your adorable face? it was cute seeing you running around" you were surprised at his words. there was no way THE LEE JENO really just said that you.
"I think you have the wrong person" you chuckled awkwardly.
"mmm no, it's you. I'm happy that I get to see your adorable face up close. I'll be able to admire your eyes, nose and lips" he shows you an innocent smile. even his eyes were smiling so innocently as well. you couldn't help but blush a little, you quickly faced away from him to calm yourself down.
"I have a gorilla mask in my bag, should I wear that so you don't have to admire my face?" you turn to look back at him, he raised a brow.
"you don't have one, don't lie" he chuckles. you bent down to grab your bag, then you placed it on the counter. you then pulled out a brown gorilla mask and showed to Jeno, he was a bit startled to see an actual gorilla mask.
"why do you have that?" he asked, you put it back in your bag.
"it's just something I carry around" you shrugged while tossing your bag under the counter again.
"maybe I should start carrying one in my bag as well" he laughed, you just shook your head and continued to do your job. Jeno would keep trying to talk to you but you simply ignored him and did your best to finish up for their first shoot. you were currently doing his eye shadow just like how the staff wanted it to be. Jeno would try to mess you up by moving around, you were apparently taking too long that a staff member needed to come over to tell you that you only 20 minutes to finish up.
"Jeno, look up please" you say politely hoping he would just cooperate with you for once but he continued to look down.
"I don't really want to get in trouble again" you mumble, with that Jeno instantly looks up. you finally happy that he was cooperating.
"thank you" you showed a soft smile and started to work on his right eye. you were applying the eye shadow on his eye so you had to stare at him to make sure you didn't mess it up. so, Jeno every once and a while would wink with his left eye making you heat up a bit. you had no idea what he was doing nor why he was doing it but if he continues, you might not be able to finish at all due to being all flustered. while you were adding the last touch of his eye shadow he suddenly says something that got you even more flustered.
"you look so pretty" you took a step back and grabbed the eye shadow palette to pretend you didn't hear him.
"you're pretending that you didn't hear me but I know you did, seems like your cheeks are going against you here" he giggles.
"I am working and I don't think you're able to make those kinds of comments towards staff members, so please stop" you had to say what he needed to hear. he shouldn't exactly be making those types of comments with you nor should you do that to him. it's a rule at SM entertainment or at least you think it is. you're guessing that Jeno didn't get the memo because he continued to flirt. he kept talking about you so you said something to hopefully to bring his mind somewhere else.
"aren't my nails pretty?" you say showing him your hand.
"you're prettier" he instantly says.
"damn" you muttered to yourself.
"I have to do your lips alright? stay still" you added lipstick onto a brush. you then added the lipstick carefully onto Jeno's lips. your back shivered when his hot breath hit your thumb, you tried not to concentrate on it.
"do you like them?" he asked staring right into your eyes.
"like what?" you questioned still gently and carefully rubbing the brush on his lips.
"my lips" his eyes were smiling although his lips were open.
"I won't answer that" you tell him, finally adding the finishing touches.
"is it because you do like them?" Jeno chuckled while raising up a brow.
"honestly y/n, you're my favorite. always have been and always will be. I have seen pictures of the galaxy and don't get me wrong, it's pretty but in my honest opinion, you're a lot prettier than the galaxy" Jeno says.
"oh god that was cheesy" you blurt out.
"yeah but I know you liked it" he chuckles. you hated the fact that he was right. it was such an utterly cheesy line but it made you blush.
"Jeno hurry over!" Taeyong waved him over.
"see you in a bit" he gave you a wink before rushing over towards his other members.
"okay, what took you so long?" Arin suddenly appears out of nowhere. you let out the loudest sigh ever.
"I would just like to go home and sleep" you grumbled, Arin gave you a questioning look.
"did something happen?" she asked as she folds her arms.
"flirting happened" you mumble as you start to clean up the counter a bit since it look like a catastrophe.
"you flirted with Jeno?" she quietly said making sure not to aware anyone else.
"no! if I did that, I would definitely get fired" you say moving the makeup materials away into a corner.
"I think you would get fired even if Jeno was flirting with you" Arin says.
"thanks that's some awesome news" you grumble, she gives you a little hug.
"my bad, wrong words" she mumbled.
"so Jeno is flirting with you. well that's new" Arin leans against the counter and looks over to where the rest of nct is doing their photo shoot.
"what do you mean that's new?" you glanced up at Arin.
"well, he's not really the flirty type or at least I think so? I'm pretty sure Jaemin or Lucas are the flirty ones but don't take my word for it. I just read it off of nctzens comments" Arin explains.
"maybe he likes you?" Arin takes her eyes off the boys to look right at you.
"I've only seen him twice, not really any good chemistry going on here" Arin shrugged.
"I said maybe" Arin chuckles.

It's been over a month and you were constantly with nct or with at least a unit of nct. today, there was another photo shoot happening but this just time it was only for nct dream. honestly, you were quite happy that you were working with nct again. you've spent so much time with them over the past month that you're great friends with an unbreakable bond. usually, you would never spend so much time with an idol since they're so busy but there's been plenty of times where you've hung out with them when they're not working. you both have gotten to know each other so well. as for Jeno, he still flirts but you're getting used to it. you think it's quite adorable on how hard he's flirting.beside the flirting you two have a great bond. you don't want to admit but you're kind of crushing on him because you spend a lot of time with him. usually the staff have their makeup artists work on different members but you've always been stuck with Jeno for some odd reason. Arin thinks it's fate but you don't really think it is.
the boys entered the building with their backpacks hanging on their backs. they have their airpods plugged into their ears and a few have sunglasses on. Jeno's eyes wander around the group of people until his eyes finally land on you. a big smile appears on his face. he takes out his airpods and makes his way towards you.
"well hey there miss y/n" he chuckles as he gets closer. as he gets closer, he suddenly gets stopped by a staff member.
"Jeno, you're actually going to be with Eunji today, she'll be working with you. Jaemin will be with y/n" Jeno's eyes were wide open. the staff pulls him away to the two seats next to yours and sits him down in the chair. you were kind of shocked by that, you've always been with Jeno. why the sudden change?
"y/n!" Jaemin flashes a big smile while walking towards you.
"jaemin! how are you?" you giggled as he took a seat in the chair in front of you.
"doing great now that i'm going to be with you today. it's not fair that Jeno gets you every time. don't know how that happens" Jaemin laughs putting his bag down on the side.
"how are you today y/n?" Jaemin asks as he watches you set stuff up.
"i'm doing okay, pretty tired" you answer him.
"well I hope I can make your day better" Jaemin smiles, you just chuckle while you were still preparing.
every once in awhile, you would glance at Jeno since you did miss working with him. everytime you would look away from him, he would stare at you and Jaemin. you and Jaemin had some fun conversations, most of them being Chenle and Renjun.
"you and I should go get some coffee sometime" Jaemin randomly says out loud.
"we get coffee all the time" you chuckled as you continued to do his eye shadow.
"we get it with everyone else. I mean just you and me, let's go get coffee together" Jaemin explains. you stand back and couldn't help but just stare at him for awhile.
"as in like a date?" you raised a brow.
"as in like a date" Jaemin showed an adorable smile. you glanced over at Jeno, he didn't seem to be paying attention to anything but his phone. you looked back at Jaemin, in his eyes you could tell that he was eager for your answer.
"sure" you accepted, Jaemin had the happiest smile on his face.
"alright, I'll pick you tomorrow at noon" he continued to keep smiling, he looked so excited. Jeno suddenly got up from his chair.
"sorry Eunji, I have to use the restroom. do you know where it is?" Jeno asked Eunji who nodded. she was about the same age as you and Jeno, really sweet and honestly the most innocent person ever.
"could you take me to it? I don't want to get lost" he shows her a soft smile, she nods and leads the way. Jeno follows behind her.
"it's been so long since we've done something together. I missed my best friend, i'm glad we're able to do this best friend date" Jaemin chuckles, you giggled.
"I missed you too, it's been so hectic lately since i'm going everywhere with every different nct unit" you sighed out tiredly.
"wow, you work harder than Mark" Jaemin laughs.
"no way! I could never be like Mark, Taeyong, Donghyuck or Lucas. if I was put into three groups at the same time, I think I would go crazy. I just hope they're not being so overworked" you say putting the last touches on his eye makeup.
"do you want to call Taeyong? he's with superm right now, I think they're doing a show or something like that right now" Jaemin pulled out his phone from his sweatpants pockets.
"ooh yeah! I wanna wish them well, plus I want to see Taemin, Baekhyun and Kai. it's been awhile since I worked with them too" you leaned in close towards him while he went into his contacts to call Taeyong.
after chatting with superm for a good ten minutes, the dream boys were almost ready to shoot their photos. a staff member had came up to you to go find Jeno along with Eunji because she wasn't back either. you headed towards the bathroom since that's where they last talked about. once you got closer, you heard two voices. a female and a males. they're totally Jeno and Eunji. you were about to step out to see them and bring them back until Jeno's words stopped you.
"honestly Eunji, you have been my favorite. I have seen the pictures of the galaxy and it's pretty but in my opinion, you're prettier" it's that same cheesy pick up line that Jeno told you.
"r-really? thank you" Eunji's voice was quiet and shy.
"would you like to go out tomorrow?" your heart shattered. you felt destroyed.
"I thought you and y/n were a thing. I don't want to go out if you're dating my friend" Eunji spoke softly yet it was still heard able.
"don't worry, we're just friends" Jeno's words hit you even more. you stepped out so they could see you.
"Jeno, Eunji. they're starting the shoot, they would like to have you two back" you calmly say, not showing any sign of weakness.
"ah, okay" Eunji smiles. she walks up to you and locks arms with you.
"let's go" she walks with you down the hallway. Jeno walked behind the two of you over towards the shooting area. once you and Eunji got back to where the rest of the makeup crew was, she told you the news that you already knew.
"y/n, Jeno asked me out!" she squealed, you showed her a big smile.
"that's great!" although you were hurt that day, you didn't want to ruin her day.

it's been a few weeks now, Eunji had actually left SM Entertainment to go over and work at JYP Entertainment. honestly, you missed her even though you still contact her a lot. Plus, Jeno didn't go on the date with her. he ended up being busy the next day doing a vlive with Chenle and Jisung. every now and then, when you would be doing photo shoots, Jeno would always being flirting with someone. today, he was flirting with a random girl that you don't think was a staff member.
"y/n, you'll be working with Jeno again" a staff brings Jeno over and puts him in the chair. she tells the details about how she wants the makeup to look like and etc. once she left, you started to do your work.
"I just wanted to let you know that I won't be working with you and nct anymore. I'll be going back to working with Red Velvet" you tell him while getting your things prepared.
"if you even care" you muttered. a sudden hand snatched your arm and spun you around. you were now facing Jeno.
"of course I care" his tone was serious, totally different than what you're used too.
"oh yeah, the 'of course I care' cliche type to make me feel guilty. I've dealt with this before" you grumble, pulling away from him to continue getting your things ready.
"why are you acting like this?" you turned around quick when he asked that questioned.
"I don't know Jeno. probably because I care for you and that I exactly had a crush on you, not even a little bit, a huge one but you know I ended just getting hurt instead. I am a complete idiot, like how on earth did I think I was able to be with you? it's impossible because well it seems like while I falling in love, you weren't even close to falling. I was just your friend and your 'you're prettier than the galaxy' is just another one of your pick up lines that girls fall for. sadly, I was one of those girls. along with you flirting with different girls as well. everyday I wished that I could just go back to the day before that photo shoot. where they called me and told me to go to that warehouse at 5 in morning to help with makeup. I would have said no, so I wouldn't be able to be where I am today" you got frustrated and threw the case of powder onto the counter.
"Arin, you can come with Jeno. I need a break" you start to walk away from him.
"but we just started-" Arin stares at you blankly.
"thank you Arin! I owe you" you yelled out before walking out of the room filled with people.
you stayed in a lounge room all alone for an hour. just scrolling through your social media feed. you had pictures of the boys, red velvet, exo and more but the pictures that hurt you the most were pictures of you and Jeno goofing off or just adorable pictures that you loved. you continued to keep scrolling when the door suddenly opened. you saw the one person that you wanted to see but didn't want to see as well.
"y/n" Jeno closes the door and locks it so no one could enter.
"get out" you bluntly say.
"no, not until we talk" he walks up towards you.
"we did talk" you got off the lounge chair and moved away from him.
"if you're not leaving, I'll leave instead" you headed towards the door. within seconds Jeno stands it front of it.
"I need you to move" you stare at him but he doesn't move, not even an inch.
"I'm not joking" you were going to push him out of the way but instead he pulls you into a hug. your face was against his chest, one hand on the back of your head while the other was on your back. you put your hands on his chest and tried to push to get out but he held you tighter.
"don't go. i'm sorry" his voice was shaky.
"I just want you"
"trust me" some way and some how, you could hear the pain his shaky voice. you wanted to apologize too but the only words that came out of your mouth was...
"I did trust you" his hands fell, they dangled against his side. you stepped back away from him. he was staring right at you, his lips trembled, his eyes were teary, his cheeks had tears running down.
"I need you to move" you spoke softly. Jeno looked down, moved over the side. he watched your feet go past him. he heard you open that door and then he wasn't able to see your feet. he heard the door click and shut. he stood in silence, all alone.

it's been exactly four weeks since you've last seen Jeno. you were doing a lot better emotionally wise. although every once an awhile you wished you could see him once more to see how he's doing. you entered a coffee shop and headed up towards the counter. you ordered your favorite drink that you usually get. you paid the nice kid behind the counter and moved over to the side to wait for your coffee. you look around the shop and enjoyed the beautiful layouts of the shop. you would glance at the people as well, having dates or just chatting with their friends. then one familiar person stood out to you. the person sat alone staring out at the windows with a cup of coffee in his hands.
"miss? your drink" you looked at the barista and smiled.
"thank you" you gave the kid a smile and took the drink off the counter. when you turned back around, that person that you thought looked familiar was now in front of you. neither of you could believe it.
"Jeno..." you felt like you were getting warm. your stomach felt like it was twisting and turning, your eyes felt like they were burning because of his eyes.
"y/n..." he softly spoke your name. there was an awkward tension between the two of you. neither of you were sure of what to do so you both just stood there awkwardly while people were wondering if you were going to move out of their way.
"uhm, do you want to go walk around?" he asked, you gave him a little nod. you had nothing better to do anyways. the two of you exited out of the coffee shop and started to walk around the city.
"how have you been?" he asked.
"i'm doing okay, I could be better though" you answered.
"what about you?" you asked.
"i'm doing okay as well" he answered. now it was quiet again. there were no voices, just yours and his shoes tapping on the ground.
"Jeno...I-"
"I missed you" Jeno blurted out.
"I missed you too..." you quietly say.
"I promise I will do better" he says.
"I'll start from the beginning" he sighs out loudly.
"hi, i'm Jeno. I've seen you before and I thought you were very pretty. too pretty cause I ended up talking about you to the other members. then I got to see you again at another photo shoot and then we started to get closer to you. I started to get closer to you to point where I developed feelings even more. then I got kind of upset when Jaemin asked you out on a date so I went ahead and did a stupid move by asking Eunji out on a date. I broke not just your heart but mine as well. now here I am today, telling you this story and asking you out. again, I'm lee jeno, a complete idiot who actually loves you" he exhales loudly.
"i'm y/n. I started to like you as well from the second you started your flirting session. I was upset at the fact you asked Eunji out since I thought we had something. I thought I was too attached to you and so I cut you out. I then left you in that room alone because I didn't want to break down but I shouldn't have left you because either way, we still both would have broken down. I am here today to get coffee and then I ended up being with you again. I am telling you this story and hoping you could forgive me. I am also accepting to go out with you. I am Choi y/n, a utterly embarrassed jackass who loves you too" the two of you had small smiles on your faces.
"now that we're done with our love speeches, let's go on our date" Jeno chuckles. he takes your hand and locks them with his.
"wait before we go" you stop him for a second. you quickly placed a kiss on his cheek. Jeno was puzzled to feel your lips against him.
"okay let's go now" you showed a big smile.
"can you do that again but on my lips?" Jeno asked, you chuckled.
"another time" you giggled.
"why not now?" he whined.
