Sahana POV 12:00 p.m.
I slowly felt my head shift to the end of the bed and eventually hang down. I groaned in annoyance bringing my head back onto the pillow.
My nose was still stuffed from last night.
I touched my face and immediately could tell it was swollen.
I was half-awake.
All the events that have happened were going through my head.
Throughout these months, I met my neighbor.
Who I never knew, until he crashed into my apartment in the middle of the night.
I was a bitch to him because of it, and all he did was be a polite man asking for forgiveness.
And for him to achieve that, I thought I would make him do a series of tasks for me.
But soon I realized my mistakes and came to the fact that I was so dumb to even think like that.
Later on, he mentioned that he wanted the chance to become friends.
For some reason, I was nervous about that idea.
But as time went on, I came to the fact that I wanted the same.
And that's how it happened.
We became closer and closer.
He has a special place in my heart now.
Once in a while, I'd imagine how it'll be like if we were more than friends.
And whether I would want that or not.
I never denied the idea of it.
He's made my heart flutter.
He's caused me to blush like crazy.
He's always there at the right times when I need him in my presence.
His hugs are warm.
They make me melt into his arms.
When he holds my hand,
I feel a sense of protection that he has over me.
And he's even made me want to kiss him.
All the qualities I want in a man are in him.
He's just better.
Then we discovered one another's past.
Our traumas.
And realized they were linked.
When I got kidnapped,
his father saved my life,
but with the cost of his own.
I pushed all the memories of my trauma to the back of my head,
taking his father's image away too.
My neighbor saw a picture of me in his father's office,
but forgot about me as the years passed.
But one thing he could never forget
is the passing of one of the only person he looked up to.
And here we are now.
Together.
Lying on the same bed.
At this point,
we are one of the few people that the other can hold onto.
Maybe God wanted this to happen.
Maybe his father wanted this to happen.
Who knows?
All we can do now is just let the things that need to happen, happen.
Everything happens for a reason, right?
My hand moved around me to find my phone.
But instead, it landed on an arm.
I shot my eyes open.
They traveled down to my waist.
They grew wide.
The arm wrapped around me tightly.
I suddenly felt tiny breaths on the back of my neck.
Shivers went throughout my body.
I turn my head around.
Jai was sleeping quietly.
A tiny space was left between his body and mine.
Blush crept through my entire face.
My heartbeat fastened its pace.
I turned back around and stared at Jai's window, not knowing what the hell to do in this type of situation.
Yeah, we've held hands.
Yeah, we've hugged too.
But never like this.
He's basically spooning me.
Wait no.
He is spooning me.
Thankfully today was a Sunday so I didn't have work.
I took the day off and let everyone else too because I could tell that everyone was getting so stressed out.
The official launch date is on April 7th so it's definitely not too far away.
We are pretty much ready for it, but the tiny details are the things that are making our environment feel so hectic. Everyone is so drained because they are working overtime just to get everything finished for the day.
I was getting headaches that I haven't felt in such a long time.
I actually yelled at Tara.
The last time I ever did that was 2 years ago.
That was the breaking point, where I knew things were getting out of hand.
Giving everyone an off day, hopefully will give them a chance to rest and get back their positive, hardworking mindset.
My mind was blank.
I hated to admit it,
but I was comfy.
Really comfy.
I felt Jai move.
His arm was starting to leave my waist.
I was fighting my emotions.
Whether I was happy that I could now escape,
or sad that I had to get out of bed.
I looked back at him.
He looks like a fucking hot ass angel when he sleeps, it's literally not fair.
I bet I look like Yzma(from Disney's Emperor's New Groove) with just a shit ton of hair.
I made a face of annoyance and began to get out of bed.
Then out of nowhere, an arm sneaked around my waist and pulled me back.
I was stunned.
Jai was sticking right by me.
He hugged even tighter now and rested his head behind my neck once again.
HOW THE HELL DID HE PULL ME TO HIM LIKE THAT?!
DOES HE THINK I'M A PILLOW?!
I SWEAR.
"Ivoleoyu Sahana." I heard Jai mumble.
Hah?
Wat did he say about me?
I tried turning my whole body around to face his, but it was impossible.
That's it.
I extended an arm and bent it back, ready to slap Jai in the face.
Until I heard the bed move.
I turned my head to the end of the bed.
There she came.
In all her glory.
Amiga slowly crept up to Jai.
Then she pounced on his body, moving up to lick his face.
"Mmph, ngh." I heard from behind.
I awkwardly stared at the window.
"Sahana?"
My head turned to see him looking at me in confusion.
"Well good morning Jai."
"I woke up about let's see here, a good 10 minutes ago, and you see I'm in a little bit of a PICKLE RIGHT NOW, so if you could just LET GO that'll be WONDERFUL."
"Let go what do you me-" his eyes traveled down to him holding me.
Immediately, he let go and began rolling away from me. Finally, I was able to turn my whole body around.
Jai was almost at the edge of the bed.
One more roll and he's done.
"Wait no Jai! Stop rolli-"
THUD!
"Oww."
I slapped a hand on my forehead.
Slowly Jai grabbed the bed and brought his face halfway up where I could only see his eyes,
"Oh my god I was spooning you. I'm so sorry. I honestly thought you were a body pillow."
"But wouldn't you have felt my hair on your face or something?"
"Sahana, even if I'm at the edge of my bed, I'll still be able to feel it because it's so long and sprawled out everywhere."
I rolled my eyes.
Maybe I should get a haircut.
"Why didn't you wake me up or something? Were you just bearing with it for 10 minutes until Amiga woke me up? Was it uncomfortable? Oh my god, I'm so sorry. I'm such a fucking dumbass." Jai fell on the floor again.
I crawled to the end of the bed and peeked down.
He was staring up at the ceiling with hands in his hair.
"You needed the sleep after last night Jai."
"I mean I understand if you needed something to hold onto for the night."
"And I didn't want to wake you up for the time being."
"But then I got annoyed and Amiga just beat me to it."
"And plus,"
I didn't want to admit this at all.
Jai looked at me.
I took my gaze away from him,
"I-it didn't feel too b-bad." I mumbled.
Jai immediately sat up,
"What?"
"Hm?"
"You said something."
"What are you talking about?"
"You said something."
"Said what? I didn't say anything."
"Yes, you did Sahana."
"Nope. I don't know what you're talking about." I shook my head.
"What did you say?"
"What did I say?"
"That's why I'm asking you oh my godd." Jai slapped his forehead.
We sat in silence.
"Well you said something too. About me?" I spoke.
"What did I say?"
"I don't know, you just mumbled something. It was like Ivoleoyu, Sahana."
I looked up at something, thinking about it.
"OH!" Jai got up.
I looked at him in confusion.
"Are you ok?" I raised an eyebrow.
He grabbed my hands pulled me out of his bed.
"WOAH THERE," I yelled, landing on him, "WELL GODDAMN, YOUR CHEST IS LIKE A ROCK." I gasped.
He chuckled looking down at me, "I'll take that as a compliment."
Then, he grabbed my hand taking me to his door,
"Well, I think you should ya know, GO, and brush your teeth!"
At this point, my breath is the least of my worries.
"Relax on your day off! Don't worry about me I'll be fine!"
"Oh, and by the way, I sleep talk A LOT, so whatever you heard there, just forget about it, ok? OK!"
"What is goin on with you, Jai?!" I asked, completely clueless about his sudden change of attitude.
"MONTY BOY COME LEAVE WITH YOUR MAMA!" Both dogs came running to us.
Jai opened the door and turned around.
He took a glance, before pulling me into warm hug,
"Thank you."
"For everything."
"I'm happy that the person my dad saved,"
"was you."
I smiled and wrapped my arms around his waist,
"Thank you for everything too."
"I'm happy that the person that saved me was your dad."
"Or else I wouldn't have been comfortable doing this,"
I pulled out of the hug and went slightly up on my toes, planting my lips on his cheek.
I then looked up and blew a kiss,
"That one was for your dad."
I turned back to Jai.
He gazed at me.
I snickered, "Watchu lookin at?"
He opened his mouth to speak,
"I love you."
