Brielle POV
After our very electric moment, we walked back to Auradon Prep smiling and arm in arm as we did when we came out here in the first place. While we didn't want to, we separated ways after he walked me back to my dorm, not before giving me a light kiss on the cheek as a goodbye. Once I locked myself in my room and recollected myself from all of that and processed what had just happened I looked at my phone and saw that I had a text from Ben from an hour ago, oops. It read,
Come to my office as soon as you can, I think I've discovered something
Cryptic, lovely. I also hadn't asked him about how his date with Mal went, oops again. Guess I can do that now since he's demanding a visit. I put my shoes back on and walked over to his office, knocking on the door and waiting for permission for entry,
"Come in!"
A cheery voice shouted. I took the knob and turned it and confidently walked in,
"You wished to speak with me?"
I said, trying to act over formal because my clothes spoke so differently. Ben looked up from sorting papers on his desk and paused as I shut the door,
"Bri... thats a unique outfit"
He said, somewhat disapprovingly but I ignored it,
"Yeah yeah at least I can actually have fun and creativity with what I wear, when do you not wear a suit?"
He acted overly offended,
"Geez Bri, straight for the jugular much? You just got here for crying out loud! Anyway, I went on my date with Mal yesterday"
He said with a dorky smile. I waited for him to continue, but he never did so I slowly started nodding,
"Cool, is that it?"
"No, I wanted to ask you when you went for your unplanned swim in the enchanted lake a few days ago, did you feel any-"
"Different after I came out? Yes, did you?"
I said with a bit of an excited smile, my theory was about to be proved right now,
"Yeah, I felt the same but less-"
"Giddy? Overly excited? To head over heels for your own good?"
Ben paused and looked at me, he knew I was onto something,
"What are you thinking Bri, have you picked something up? And who were you feeling that for?"
I smiled and crossed my arms,
"Harry Hook, and you just proved my theory correct. Ben, we were spelled"
He was taken aback,
"What? How? When?"
He asked urgently as he walked over to me,
"I have all the answers, we were poisoned on the same day, right before the big tourney game. We both had one of Mal's magical double chocolate chip walnut cookies. Not to mention she took it away from me once I had a bite, asked me how I felt a lot, felt super giddy and shy suddenly. The only answer I dont have for you is, why?"
I said, slowly becoming more serious. Ben took a second to think before having an idea, I was hopeful for a second that my big hearted yet sometimes not the smartest brother had an idea I hadn't had,
"Maybe they had crushes on us and we seemed unobtainable because of our statuses!"
He said with excitement. I was immediately deflated, it wasn't impossible but I couldn't see that being the reason,
"I dont know Ben, I think your innocent boy brain just made that up"
He shook his head with a smile,
"No it makes sense! I mean, I've always kinda liked Mal-"
"I know"
"Of course you do but hush I have a point to make..."
He said with a chuckle,
"... I've always kinda liked Mal right? Well I know damn well for a fact Harrys had eyes for you since the day he got here and you've always seemed to favor him over the others, it makes perfect sense!"
Maybe thats all this was, maybe they did just have crushes on us and didn't know how to go about it. I can understand that, I can safely assume love isn't a big thing on the Isle since Auradon and the Isle are polar opposites.
What if they genuinely just didn't know how to get their feelings out so they used a spell to move things along? All this talk of the wand though, it's still putting me off. I decided to continue being my only true resource,
"Maybe you're right for once, I do for sure like Harry so the spell did the trick for what it was worth"
Ben turned into overprotective brother mode within I kid you not like .2 seconds,
"You do? For sure for sure? Has he been treating you nicely? Has he asked you out yet?"
I rolled my eyes and laughed,
"Ben shut up, the answer to all of those questions is yes. We literally went on our first date today and it was very pleasant even to my standards. If you wanna be all big brother on me I can turn into the annoying little bothersome sister to Mal real quick"
Ben's eyes widened with excitement,
"You guys did? How was it? And I know I know, you know how I am"
"I do, and it was lovely. We went on a walk to the enchanted lake then I took him to see the ocean-"
My mind immediately drifted back to what had happened on the beach, making my cheeks flush a little and my body heat rise, not to mention the butterflies and my heart,
"Bri? You cut yourself off what happened on the beach?"
He said in a happy teasing tone as he literally made fun of me with the tone of his voice alone,
"Uhm... we maybe might've watched the sunset together and then maybe maybe might've kissed whilst watching the sunset"
I said with a cheeky smile slowly creeping onto my face. Ben literally froze,
"On the first date? Bri!"
He said in a mix of happy and surprised,
"What? Its not like I met him today, the moment was right and we both kinda just... mwah"
I said with a laugh, Ben shook his head and shared my laughter,
"Thats it, you've officially out done me and my date game. Mal is kinda cold though, still very edgy at times. I think she would've killed me if I had tried to kiss her"
I laughed a very cheeky and snarky laugh,
"Thats what you get for falling for the daughter of the worst villain of all time, comes with the territory"
I said as I backed up towards the door,
"You could say that, heading out?"
"Yeah, I kinda spent all afternoon with Harry and didn't do my homework beforehand"
I said with the same cheeky smile. Ben was about to put out his inner dad on display but I was out the door by then,
"Buh bye!"
"Bye! And no procrastinating on homework next time!"
He said, the dad accent and everything coming into view,
"Yeah yeah whatever leave me alone"
I said playfully before shutting the door and making my way back to my dorm, I love this outfit but sweats and a hoodie sounded so much better.
Harry POV
I had just finished dropping Brielle off at her dorm, I thought the date would go well but honestly that exceeded my expectations. I genuinely wanted to go out with her, see what it was like and all but that was so much more than I could've ever asked for. I know this is all for the wand and such, but Im slowly starting to distance myself from the idea that the only reason I'm doing all of this with Brielle is because of the wand. Mainly because thats not true anymore, I have never had a kiss that magical in my life and I wont let that lose its meaning.
Just as I was happily reminiscing about what had happened that day I realized that Carlos was in the dorm with Dude, his new best friend,
"Wheres Jay?"
I asked, just out of pure curiosity,
"At tourney practice, you feeling okay Hook?"
Carlos asked once he finally looked away from Dude to me,
"Uhm yeh, why do ya ask?"
"I've never seen you with a smile that big on your face"
I hadn't even realized I was still smiling until now,
"None of yer business pup"
I said as I turned away from him and took my jacket up to lay it on the foot of my bed,
"Now I'm intrigued, what's up?"
I groaned and looked at him, I really wanted to just go on a rant on how amazing the day was,
"Can ya keep a secret pup?"
He sat up, mildly taken aback,
"Uh yeah, if its important to not tell anyone than sure"
He sounded genuine to me and he didn't show any signs of lying, so I walked over to him and pulled a chair up to the side of his bed,
"I asked Brielle out, and I just came back from our first date"
I said, I could feel the smile coming back onto my face and my heart skipping beats as I meerly mentioned Brielle and what the day had given. Carlos was speechless for a second,
"For real? How was it?"
He said shortly after, actually smiling with me and looking happy too. Odd but I won't question it,
"It was amazing... we hung out at the enchanted lake for a while, then she took me on a secret path into a cave and down ta the beach. The ocean was gorgeous and the sun was setting, ah it was amazing... I also did something Mal would kill me if she heard about so no snitching yes?"
Carlos had sat up even more and had turned his full body to me, something about that made me think that he actually likes hearing about this stuff,
"Yeah I got you, what did you do?"
I smiled and my leg began subconsciously bouncing some,
"I kissed her, and she kissed back. It was the best thing I've ever fuckin experienced lad"
Carlos's jaw dropped a little,
"Dude, you're right Mal would be super pissed if she heard about that..."
He said with a chuckle,
"... jokes aside though, to be honest she does strike me as a really awesome girl. I see why you like her"
"She really is"
I said, maybe sounding a little to longing but I dont care,
"Sucks that we're doing this for that stupid wand. I'd love to get as settled as you are here"
He said sounding sad. Dude whined and put his head on Carlos's lap to pet,
"Yeh, I think I'm really fallin' for Bri. Its just hard because of the stupid wand thing as ya said"
Carlos raised a brow,
"Wait, you think getting FG's wand is stupid too?"
"Uh yeh, I actually really like it here and would rather not screw it up"
"Me too, we can only dream"
Such a happy day with such a bitter undertone. Why can't we just take the good things we have and cherish them instead of asking for more? I just wish Mal would stop the plan right in its tracks and we can just keep living this life, I love this life and I love the girl its brought me. I just don't want to mess it up.
