Upon seeing Shen Yu's face, everyone within that group was startled. It wasn't like how they imagined it to be. Where did the beautiful goddess they imagined disappear to?
The one in front of them had an ugly appearance. There were pimples all over the left side of his face with a flower scar covering the whole right side of his face.
The lips were so pale as if he was some sick person. The only good thing about the latter's appearance is the big round eyes.
One of the male participants within the group almost fainted from the shock. He couldn't believe his eyes. The beauty he had in mind turned out to be an ugly person with an ugly scar and pimples. It was too unbelievable, shocking him to the core.
"Ew. Ugly!" One of the female participants called out.
"Ghost!" Another female participant yelled out.
Some of the participants within that group were startled, thus they ran away from the group in fear that Shen Yu was an evil cultivator.
Shen Yu didn't expect positive reactions from other people. He quickly put his hat veil on again. Without saying anything more, he quickly walked away from the group.
It would be a lie, if Shen Yu said that he wasn't affected when the participant called him a ghost. He's a human after all, of course he has feelings too.
Yue Ya came back to her senses quickly. Seeing that the latter had walked away toward the other direction, she quickly chased after Shen Yu.
Yue Ya came from a small sect and her cultivation level was not bad, and besides she was pretty. Thus, when the other male participants saw that she had run after Shen Yu, they also ran after her.
"Hey, wait." Yue Ya grabbed Shen Yu's wrist from behind. Honestly, she was shocked when she first saw Shen Yu's face, however she did not hate nor fear him.
Shen Yu stopped his step and looked at where Yue Ya had grabbed him.
Yue Ya reflexively let go of her hold and took the initiative to introduce herself, "My name is Yue Ya. I would love to be little sister's friend. Can I ask what's little sister's name is?"
Seeing the honest look on the latter's face, Shen Yu also introduced himself, "My name is Shen Yu."
"By the way, how old is little sister?"
"I'm 16. And... I'm not a little sister. I'm a man."
"Huh?" Yue Ya along with the other participants within the group couldn't help but was shocked again. Did they hear it wrong? man?
"I'm a man." Shen Yu spoke again. He really has no idea how this group of people came to think that he's a little girl. For God's sake, he is a man and has a flat chest.
Hearing Shen Yu's words, the group of participants couldn't help, but to scrutinize him up and down. It was very hard to believe that he was a man as he had a small body that looked like a girl with the exception of the flat chest.
"Aw...sorry. It was my mistake just now. I hope you can forgive me." Yue Ya said. She really didn't mean to call Shen Yu a little girl if not for the way his body looks, adding with his soft voice.
"It's okay."
"Alright. From now on, call me elder sister since I'm one year older than you."
"Okay." Shen Yu said.
With Yue Ya taking the initiative, the other participants also start to copy her and introduce themselves. They can tell Shen Yu is not a bad person, thus the group decides to go together to ensure their safety.
Walking together the group came upon this place, where there are a lot of fruit trees.
Some of the participants within the group had no cultivation. Many of them were very hungry after walking for so long. Upon seeing the big fruits, they really can't help, but drooled.
Shen Yu walked in the front of the group, thus he didn't see the other participants' facial expressions when they saw the fruits.
"Let's eat some fruits first." One of the male participants whispers to his buddy.
"Okay."
With that they stop walking and turn to the tree. Soon, they start to climb onto the tree.
Shen Yu observes their surroundings and was shocked once he turned around.
"Stop. Don't touch it." Shen Yu called out to those participants that were climbing on the trees. However, it was already too late as one of the participants had already reached out and pulled a fruit from the tree.
Instantly, the fruit in that participant's hand turned into a beast eating fruit and grew very big. In a fast pace, the fruit beast had eaten one of that participant's hands.
"Ah!" The participant can only groan from the pain.
Seeing the scene in front of them, all of the participants that were in the tree instantly jumped off from the tree. They were too afraid to stay any longer.
Shen Yu and Yue Ya quickly rushed back to the group that were by those fruit trees while the rest within the group were too scared to the point that they had already fled far away when seeing the beautiful big fruit turn into an eating fruit beast.
The fruit beast is a level one beast, thus it was easy for those with cultivation to deal with. Yet, it was hard for commoners who had no spiritual power to deal with.
The fruit beast ran toward Shen Yu and was ready to eat him alive with its sharp teeth. Shen Yu quickly dodge it. He then lifted his hand and chanted a magic spell and in quick pace, the fruit beast was sent flying and with a boom sound yellow liquid can be seen flowing.
Shen Yu quickly came to help the participant who got his arm bitten off by the beast fruit. He tore a piece of cloth from his hat veil and tied it to the latter's wound to prevent more blood from streaming.
"You have to bear it or give up. But you can't die here, or else you would die in real life." Shen Yu said while helping the man wrap his wound.
"I'll bear it. Thank you." Dong said.
He felt very thankful toward Shen Yu. If not for him, he would have been dead already by now. Earlier when the fruit turned into a beast appearance, he felt very frightened to the point that he had totally forgotten about the bracelet. Now, he finally understands what it means by don't judge someone based on their appearance.
Dong appears to be around 18 years old. He was just a commoner with no cultivation, thus he couldn't deal with the fruit beast. Luckily, Shen Yu was quick or else he would have been dead already by now.
"Let's go. This place is not safe. Once someone touches the fruit, it would turn into a beast." Shen Yu told the group.
Seeing the fruit trees with a bunch of fruits, everyone within the group couldn't help but feel intimating. Imagine if all of the fruits here were to turn into beasts, there is really no guarantee that everyone would survive.
Despite the fruit beast being a level one beast, yet there are too many of them and if it suddenly turns into a beast, it would be a bit hard to deal with since not everyone has cultivation. Thus, to ensure everyone's safety it is best to move forward and find another place to stay.
With Shen Yu leading the group, they walk toward a new direction within the forest.
One of the male participants helped piggyback Dong since he got injured. Despite being carried by a man, Dong didn't mind since he knew that with his current ability, he won't be able to walk stably.
Being carried on someone else's back, Dong felt a bit uncomfortable. Yet, he couldn't stop himself from staring at the figure in front leading everyone and was also the one that had just saved his life.
Just as the group passes by another area within the forest where there are less trees, they can feel the hard wind blowing at their face.
Before they could clearly see what happened, one of the female participants was suddenly sent flying in the air and landed on the ground.
Because of the impact, the female participant spat out a mouthful of blood.
"Watch out!" Shen Yu yelled.
