"What do you think, Leon?" Ryan asked.
"About what?" I asked, looking at him.
I lent Riley her money almost week ago, and she still hasn't talked to me. I hated the fact that we had a screaming match in front of the bar, I didn't want to take her friendly advice.
She seems to be interested in the bartender, Hunter is his name I think, "I said, let's have a bonfire or something by the beach tonight, we could all use some time together, what do you think?" Ryan said.
"I think that's a good idea, I'll tell—"
"Without. Laura."
"She's my girlfriend," I defended.
"She's not anyone's friend, and she was rude to the girls, I don't think anyone wants her around, man," Nate said honestly.
"Fine."
"Leon Adamos is actually listening to what we have to say for once? Wow!" Ryan said sarcastically.
I flipped him off and he rolled his eyes; everyone practically hated me for getting back together with Laura.
"Leon, did you talk to Riley?" Nate asked.
"No, I didn't."
"What's going on between you and my sister, dude?" Ryan asked.
"Excuse me?" I asked. "Nothing's going on between Riley and I...we're just friends."
"I know that dumbass," he started. "I meant what the hell is going on with your friendship, she hasn't talked to you in, like, 5 days?"
"She's pissed at me," I admitted.
"We all are," Nate cut in. "Riley has dealt with a cheater before, she knows the pain of when someone cheats on you, seeing you give Laura a second chance must really suck."
I ran a hand through my hair, "Just...let me talk to her at the bonfire, we'll fix this."
"You'll fix this," Ryan said.
I nodded, "Yeah...I will."
Sky then ran downstairs, "I'M SORRY!" she called, she was laughing loudly.
Riley then appeared, covered in what looks like CocaCola.
"I'M GOING TO END YOUR EXISTENCE, SKY DAVIS!" she yelled, running after her.
Sky immediately ran to hide behind Nate, snickering to herself.
"What's going on?" Nate asked, protecting Sky from Riley.
"She spilt her drink on me!" she said.
She started charging at Sky, and I immediately stood in front of her holding her back, "Let me go!" she yelled.
"You have to calm down, just wash the shirt, you're fine," I said. "Poor Sky here was just— OW!" I yelled in pain when I realized she bit my shoulder.
She freed herself from my grasp but I grabbed her again, tighter this time, "Control your sister!" I exclaimed at Ryan.
Ryan was doubled over in laughter, he stood up and took Riley from me, "You are so violent," I said.
"I got my anger out, I'm fine now," she said, crossing her arms over her chest. "I'll get my revenge on you, Sky!" she threatened jokingly.
Sky just laughed again, "We'll see about that," she said.
"Get ready, we're going to have a bonfire by the beach," Ryan said.
The girls nodded and walked back upstairs.
"Man, I haven't seen Riley this happy in ages," Ryan said, a smile attached to his face.
I grinned slightly and nodded, "I'm glad she's happy, let's go get ready?" I asked.
The guys nodded and we started to walk upstairs, "Do you guys mind if I tell Heath?" Riley appeared from behind a wall.
Okay, his name is Heath, not Hunter.
"No, it's cool, Riles," Ryan said.
Ryan met him around 4 days ago, he liked him a lot, and of course, he gave him the 'mess with my sister and you'll die' talk.
Something stirred in my stomach when they agreed. I don't know what it is.
I just didn't like it.
I rolled my eyes and walked upstairs, going to my room in silence. I stepped in and shut the door behind me.
I changed into white shorts and a mint green shirt that was a bit tight. I took my hair out of the mini-bun it was in and ruffled it a bit, I was in desperate need for a haircut.
I grabbed my stuff and walked back downstairs, I froze when I saw Ryan and Lilly making out on the couch.
Why do I feel like I shouldn't have seen this?
I fake-coughed to get their attention, and they immediately pulled apart, staring at me in complete horror.
"Leon, you got ready fast..." Ryan said, trailing off.
I rolled my eyes and chuckled, "I'm guessing this is a secret?" I asked. Lilly looked away and I sighed, "I won't tell Riley."
Lilly's head immediately turned to me and she said, "You won't?"
"No, your secret's safe with me, I'll pretend I didn't see anything," I promised them.
"I owe you one, man," Ryan said.
"It's fine," I said. "The others should be down soon, then we'll get going."
I walked away to the kitchen and opened the alcohol drawer, pulling out two bottles of vodka.
Yup, that's what we needed.
I walked back out and saw everyone was downstairs, "I got the drinks," I said.
They all cheered jokingly and I chuckled, I looked at Riley and she was staring at me in complete silence, "Ryan, you take these; you guys go and I'll catch up. I have a call to make," I said, handing him the bottles.
"Alright, see you," Ryan said and they all left, except for Riley.
"Something wrong?" I asked confusedly.
"I've been thinking..." she started.
"About?"
"Shut up and listen," she said quickly, I chuckled and nodded. "I'm sorry for yelling at you at the beach a couple of days ago, I don't know why I inserted myself into your life and your choices, I had no right to do that..." she trailed off.
"And I'm sorry for fighting with you about this as well," I said.
"Syngónmi?" she said and I immediately started laughing.
"How long did that take you to learn?" I asked.
"An hour," she said in embarrassment.
"Damn, an hour and you couldn't even pronounce it right?" I asked, her eyes widened. "It's syngnómi."
"This is embarrassing," she said, chuckling.
"It's cute," I admitted. "σε συγχωρώ."
"Did you insult me in Greek again?" she asked jokingly.
"First of all, I said 'I forgive you'. Second of all, I never insulted you, come on, let's go."
"Well, I forgive you too," she said. "Didn't you have to make some call?"
"Huh? Oh, it's not of importance, let's go."
"O...kay," she said, laughing. "Also, Heath can't make it, his mom has the flu and he needed to stay with her."
Excitement filled my body, but I didn't show it.
"Aw, that sucks, I hope she gets okay soon," I said honestly, as we walked out together.
"Yeah," she said.
We walked together in comfortable silence until we finally reached the beach, they had already started the bonfire.
"We're here!" I said when we reached them.
"Sit down, we're playing never have I ever with shots!" Nate said, waving shot cups in front of me. "No holding back!"
"Awesome," I said, sitting down.
Riley took a seat on the sand next to me, crossing her legs.
"You girls better be careful with the booze," Ryan said, smirking at them.
"I don't know who you're talking to, all of us are 21 or over except for Miss Riley here," Lilly said.
"Shut up, I'm turning 21 in less than 6 months!" Riley rolled her eyes.
I smiled and shook my head, "You should all be careful, irresponsible drinking causes a shit ton of problems," I said.
"Says you," Nate shot, I narrowed my eyes at him and he smirked.
"I don't like you," I said, and he laughed. "Let's start this damn game!" I added excitedly.
"I'll start, never have I ever hooked up with someone inside the school or college premises," Lilly said.
Ryan, Nate, Sky, and I filled our cups. We all tipped them back and my face soured at the burn of vodka.
"You guys are disgusting," Riley said.
"Fuck off," Ryan said. "Never have I ever received a lap dance," Ryan smirked at me.
"This is so unfair," I said, filling my cup and tipping it back, swallowing the contents.
"And today on the list of things I've never expected Leon to have done: that!" Sky said and everyone laughed.
"It was 3 years ago," I admitted.
"No details, please!" Lilly interrupted me.
I rolled my eyes, "Alright, never have I ever been inside a Victoria's Secret," I said.
Laura always took my card and shopped there herself, she didn't like my 'taste'.
All five of them filled their drinks and I smirked. Riley tipped back her drink and her face didn't sour at all.
"The fuck?" Ryan asked. "You drank that like it was water!" he said to Riley.
"Your secret's exposed," I whispered to Riley.
She laughed, "Ryan, you can't pretend you don't know that I've already drank illegally before."
"Yeah, you're right," he said.
"My turn, never have I ever been caught while having sex with someone," Nate said.
I haven't.
Ryan, Lilly, Sky, and Riley filled their drinks. "Damn, all the girls?" I asked.
"Not as innocent as we look, huh?" Sky asked.
"Nope," I said.
"Never have I ever failed a subject in school," Riley said, smirking at Ryan.
"Damn it," I said, filling up my cup. "How did you not fail a single subject?! Physics was the actual death of me."
"It's called being smart," Riley said. "Drink up, dummy."
Ryan, Sky, Nate, and I took our shots.
The game continued until we had finished the entire first bottle of vodka.
Maybe vodka shots weren't the smartest idea ever, we were all drunk as shit.
Lilly and Ryan decided to go back to the mansion, Nate and Sky were sitting at the edge of the boardwalk, which left Riley and I alone.
Again.
We were laying on the sand, staring at the stars. The problem was that we're both drunk and unaware of what we're saying or doing.
"You know..." Riley hiccuped. "Your girlfriend is such a bitch,"
I chuckled and hiccuped too, "She's...something."
"Do you love her?" Riley asked. "Like, can you imagine yourself marrying her?"
I thought about it for a few moments, "I don't think I love her like I used to," I admitted.
"Then why did you become hers again?" she asked, looking at me with her icy blue eyes. "Why did she get a second chance and I didn't even get a first chance?"
If this was some drama show, this would've been the scene where I spit my water.
"W-What?" I asked, making sure it wasn't just my intoxicated brain making up things.
"I said," she said, crawling over and laying on top of me, and twirling a piece of my hair on her finger, "why didn't you give me a chance to shoot my shot?" she asked.
"You didn't shoot your shot," I said, running my hand over her back from under her shirt.
She smiled, "It's a little too late for that, huh?" she asked. "When you were yelling at me, you asked me if I had a thing for you."
"I did," I said, my tone much huskier.
"I do, Leon, I have a thing for you."
