You stood there in shock, your lightsaber wasn't even raised to protect you, it shone in your limp arm as you looked at Maul with fear. Ahsoka pulled you behind her and planted herself in front of you to protect you from the Inquisitor.
"So, the rumors are true," Barriss said. "Darth Maul lives."
"Formerly Darth," Maul said, his voice making you feel cold everywhere. "Now just Maul."
"Ezra, step away from him!" Kanan warned.
"Kanan, I swear he's on our side!" Ezra said.
"Perhaps my actions will speak louder than my words," Maul said taking out his lightsaber and igniting it.
Maul jumped forward and began to fight the Inquisitors, pushing them back with his lightsaber.
"What are we waiting for?" Ezra asked raising his lightsaber.
Ahsoka and Kanan raised their blades as you stood there still in shock.
"(Y/n)," Ahsoka said. "Are you okay?"
You looked at her, feeling everything but okay, still you nodded and raised your lightsaber.
Maul got locked in with Barriss as she spoke.
"Why would you come here?" She asked Maul.
"He knows of the artifact!" the male Inquisitor said running at Maul.
Kanan met him halfway with his lightsaber and they pushed against each other.
Ahsoka clashed with the other Inquisitor and you stood behind her, carefully avoiding Maul.
"The holocron, do you have it?" The Inquisitor asked Ahsoka.
"You will find out soon enough," Maul said.
"Fall back," Barriss said pulling away from Maul and flying away, followed by the other two.
You watched them fly away as Ahsoka approached Maul. You stood next to her and tried to look calm, but nothing could stop you from shaking.
"Maul, what game are you playing?" Ahsoka asked.
"The end game, Lady Tano," Maul said looking at her. "The end game."
You raised your lightsaber a little, but Ahsoka shot you a look that made you lower it.
"I am the enemy of your enemy now," Maul said. "And I have my own reasons for wanting the Empire to fall. But we have little time, the one they call Vader will be here soon."
When Maul mentioned Vader, you noticed Ahsoka tense up and you could feel a small amount of sadness in her. You still hadn't forgotten the conversation you had about Anakin being Vader.
"How do you know this?" Kanan asked.
"His dogs will tell him where we are," Maul answered. "Three Jedi and a 'part timer'."
That was the last straw for you. This man could do anything to you, but he wasn't going to insult your girlfriend. You felt the anger rise up in you, and for the first time, you welcomed it.
You raised your lightsaber and held it to his face in a blink of light.
"(Y/n) stop!" Ezra said. "He's on our side!"
"Shut up Ezra!" You growled, pushing Maul to his knees. "He clearly wasn't on our side when he killed my father, or when he took over my home!"
"Hello (y/n) Vizsla, you look well," Maul said. "I can't believe you're still going on about that, can't we just move on?"
"I'll move on when you're dead!" You growled punching him in the face.
"You do have your father's spirit," Maul said calmly. "Too bad it was gone after I chopped off his head."
"You're going to die!" You said bringing your lightsaber above his head.
"(Y/n)!" A voice said as someone used the force to grab your lightsaber out of your hand.
You turned around shooting a menacing look at the girl in front of you.
"Stop," she said looking at you with shock.
"No, let the young Jedi continue," Maul said. "Use your anger, kill me!"
"Piece of dirt," you muttered kicking him in the ribs. "I don't need a lightsaber to kill you!"
You used the force to lift him up and began to choke Maul.
"(Y/n), please stop," the girl begged, but you didn't.
"Why are (y/n)'s eyes turning yellow?" Ezra asked worried.
"No!" The girl said as you used the force to call your lightsaber back to you.
You swung with all your might, the anger swirling through your veins, but a pure white lightsaber stopped you.
The girl looked at you with pleading eyes.
"Please stop!" She pleaded. "I don't want to do this!"
"Funny," you said giving her an evil grin. "Cause I do."
You clashed blades with Ahsoka and you growled with pure hatred. Everything the Jedi Order taught you to resist was pouring out now. You didn't care who the girl in front of you was, all you cared about was to kill anyone who got in your way of destroying the man who took everything from you.
"(Y/n) please," the girl begged. "It's me, Ahsoka."
"I don't care!" you yelled. "You will die!"
"I love you, don't make me do this!" Ahsoka said crying.
"I hate you!" You yelled slashing at her legs, but Ahsoka blocked it. "You mean nothing to me!"
"You don't mean that," Ahsoka said. "I'm your girlfriend!"
"Why should I care?" You said. "I'm going to kill you anyway."
You noticed Ahsoka look over at Maul, and you saw what she saw, he was concentrating on nothing but you.
"He's doing this," Ahsoka said shocked.
You took a swing at Ahsoka's arm and she noticed just in time before she pushed you back with the force and turned to Maul.
Ahsoka ran up to him and punched him right in the face. You used her distraction to charge her, as you aimed for her head. You leaped, preparing to stab her with your blade, when everything went fuzzy.
That's Ahsoka! You said to yourself as you were falling into her, lightsaber still ready to kill her. You quickly deactivated your lightsaber just before you fell on top of her. You and Ahsoka rolled off of each other groaning. You gave her a smile, but it faded when she flipped you over, landing you on your back yet again and sitting on you, putting her knees on your chest.
"What the hell?" You asked confused and groaning in pain.
"Who am I?" Ahsoka asked bringing a lightsaber to your throat.
"What do you mean?" You asked.
"Answer me!" Ahsoka yelled, tears streaming down her face.
"You're Ahsoka Tano, the girl I love?" You answered confused. "What happened, and why was I falling from the sky?"
"Oh my god," Ahsoka said deactivating her lightsabers and putting her head in her hands. "Maul what were you doing?"
"Sorry, I wanted to have some fun," Maul said.
"What happened?" You asked.
"You tried to kill Ahsoka," Ezra said. "And Maul, your eyes turned yellow."
"Maul was making you angry," Ahsoka said.
"I tried to kill you?" You asked. "I'm sorry."
"I forgive you," Ahsoka said.
"Now um, can you get off me?" You looked up at her.
"Oh yeah, sorry," Ahsoka got up and helped you up.
"Thanks," you said.
You looked at her for a second before kissing her. Ahsoka kissed you back and you pulled her into a hug after.
"Hey, excuse me, love birds," Kanan said. "Let's get back to the Vader topic, Maul, you said he would come?"
"Oh yes, he will not be able to resist us," Maul said eyeing Ahsoka, who was wrapped in your arms, kissing your cheek softly. "And now I understand what happened on Mandalore with you two."
"Okay, hold on, there is no 'us'," Kanan said. "Dealing with Inquisitors is one thing, Vader is another. And I'm not convinced we're all on the same side anyway."
Kanan looked at you, as if proving his point.
"Kanan, we should trust him," Ezra said and pulled something out. "Look! He and I took this from the temple together."
Ezra held up a red and gold holocron. It was triangular and you knew that it was a Sith holocron.
"This is why we came here, right?" Ezra continued. "To find out about the Sith. To find a way to beat them."
He looked at Kanan with pleading eyes and turned to Ahsoka.
"Ahsoka, you said we came here for knowledge," he said.
"Ezra there is no way a Jedi can unlock that holocron," Ahsoka said.
"But you may unlock the Temple itself," Maul stepped forward and you took a step back.
"How? Tell me how," Ezra said.
"At the top of the temple is a chamber," Maul explained. "Connect the holocron to the obelisk within and you can unlock the ancient knowledge of the Sith."
Ahsoka looked at Maul with suspicion as he walked towards the temple.
"Why are you working so hard to keep up here?" She asked.
"I cannot defeat Vader alone," Maul said.
"I say we stay with him," Ezra said.
"Yeah? Well, I say we go, so that settles it," Kanan said.
"I'm gonna have to agree with Kanan on this one," you added.
"Are you such cowards that you would run from this chance to defeat your enemies?" Maul scoffed. "Who slaughter your friends?"
"My only enemy is you," you said walking out from behind Ahsoka.
"Nope, calm down (y/n)," Ahsoka grabbed your arm and held you back.
You saw Ezra look at Kanan.
"Kanan?" He asked.
Kanan looked from Ezra, to you and Ahsoka. He was looking to see if you and Ahsoka approved of this. You shoot your head quickly, but Ahsoka gave a small nod.
Kanan sighed and took out his comlink.
"Chopper, we're staying for a while," he said.
You heard Chopper grunt a few times before Kanan responded.
"Yeah, I know it's a bad idea," Kanan groaned. "Just scan for incoming ships, and keep the Phantom out of sight."
When Kanan put away his comlink, Maul walked over to him.
"Oh, how exciting. We're all on the same side," he said.
"I'm not sure if we are," you muttered quietly so only Ahsoka could hear.
(Y/n), you have to calm down. Ahsoka said in your mind. Think of something that makes you happy when you feel yourself getting angry.
You looked at her. Like you?
Ahsoka gave you a small smile and kissed you quickly before you both turned your attention back to Kanan.
"Just show us how to get to the top, and hurry," Kanan snapped.
"This way," Maul said walking towards the temple.
You all followed him as he walked along the path. Some people, such as you were more reluctant. You would rather relive the night you left your father than team up with Maul.
Finally, Maul stopped at the corner of the temple where two walls met.
"Now what?" Kanan asked.
Maul didn't answer, all he did was reach out and place his hand on the wall. It glowed red where he touched it and the wall began to shift, you realized that it was a lift. The lift stopped once it reached the ground and waited patiently.
"Wow!" Ezra exclaimed.
He and Maul both stepped on and Kanan began to follow them, but Maul stopped him.
"Only two," Maul said holding up two fingers. "No more, no less."
"Yeah? Well, these two come as a set," Kanan said pushing Maul aside and off the lift. He stood next to Ezra and turned to you and Ahsoka.
"You okay riding with Grandpa?" He asked.
"No, I'm not very comfortable with the idea of that," you said but Ahsoka pushed you aside.
"We'll be fine," Ahsoka said. "(Y/n) can fly up to the top, next to the lift."
Maul touched the wall again and the lift rose off the ground, up the side of the temple.
When the lift came back down, Maul and Ahsoka stepped on and you activated your jet pack. You really hated the Sith rule of two.
Ahsoka turned to you, still keeping a close eye on Maul.
"You need to move on," she said.
"What do you mean?" You asked.
"You have to move on from Maul's actions," Ahsoka answered. "I know it's hard."
"I don't think I can do that," you shook your head. "I'm really regretting not coming with you when you were taking Maul to Coruscant, maybe he wouldn't have gotten away."
Ahsoka smirked and kissed you softly as the lift got closer to the top of the temple.
You both pulled apart in shock when the silence was interrupted by the sound of lightsabers.
"Ah shit," you muttered flying up to the top. "Let's go fight some Inquisitors."
