i looked up at the ceiling as i laid on Vernon bed, as he let me stay with him to get me away from Lucas my abusive ex-bf since i ran away from him, saying i moved to a different place and that we were done, because i couldn't handle the pain. my eyes were just wandering back and forth from the one side of the ceiling to the other side. "hey do you want MacDonalds" dk said coming in the room "yeah" i said blankly, he walked out, "didnt even ask what i wanted" i mumbled, i heard my phone go off for the 5 time today. i grabbed my phone and walked to the back window, to the garden, i made sure my arm was good "hey what are you doing" i turned to see vernon in the door with me holding my phone above my head "nothing" i said with eyes open, he came and grabbed my phone and doing something "there now he wont call you" he gave me my phone and i saw that he blocked him "cheers" i chucked my phone on vernon bed and walked to my bag getting cream out "what you doing now" i placed the cream on one of the dressers and took off my jumper "woah Y/N" it revealed scars and burns, i applyed cream to my burns "he did this to you didnt he" he said coming up to me "yeah" i said plainly and putting on cream to my arm burns, as im use to the pain.
I put my jumper on, and said he wanted to do something, i looked at my phone and went to my camera roll deleting a lot of things "hey you wanna go to the movies and have macdonalds when you get back" vernon said "yeah sure why not" i said placing my phone in my bag. we walked to the cinema, and waited in line "what should we watch" he said i looked at the movies and saw something i havent seen in ages "Lee Evans, he is a comedian and i loved him growing up and it should be English" i said "yeah lets go," we walked up to the till "hi how many people and what movie" the woman said "Lee Evans and two people please" she nodded "chose what seat" she said, "the top two row K and number 1 and 2" i said "okay that will be 20,456won please" she said, Vernon passed her the money "my treat as for getting you out the house" he said "thank you" i said placing my hand on his arm, we walked with our tickets to some seats in the hall "well we have 20 minutes to kill, lets just chil" we sat down in a booth, "im sorry that i came to you, its just that i didnt know where to go" i said to vernon "dont worry im happy that you ended it with him and that he cant hurt you anymore" he said taking my hand "thank you, im sorry ive been cutting you off, its just that in that house i felt trapped and felt like i had no one, but i did i had all you guys, but i couldnt" i said pouting, "i am glad that you are safe now and not with the psycho" he said squeezing my hand lightly.
I got up with Vernon ready to watch the movie, "i knew you would be here with him" we heard someone yell, i regonsised the voice and cringed, "Vernon, he is here" i said to him,, vernon immeditaly put his arms around my waist "just keep walking to the movie, pretend like we didnt hear or see him "YAH Y/N GET HERE NOW" he yelled, vernon grabbed my hand leading us to a fire exit whch was up the escalator, my hand was shaking, tears were coming out, i dragged vernon to hide behind a wall, i placed my hand over my mouth stopping me from making a noise, while vernon ran his fingers though my hair, we heard police sirens outside. i peak around the wall to see nothing "i think he is gone" i said to vernon quietly, i walked out and smiled, the sirens were still blaring outside "i think they arrested him" i said i felt a hand go over my mouth "let go" my screams were muffled vernon was in front of me, trying to get him off "let go of her" Vernon yelled, "LET HER GO" the police yelled i was being dragged, away from the escalator "LET HER GO, you are BEING ARRESTED FOR ASSAULT WHICH HAPPENED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS" vernon was now near the cops, did he call them this morning, my tears were falling "please let me go Lucas, you're hurting me" i said weakly, i smelled alcohol, "you are mine and ony mine" he said into my ear " if i was yours you wouldnt of hurted me the way you did,but you got to pay for what you done for me" i said into his hand, i felt him release his hand from my mouth, and let me go, i turned around and back away slowly facing him, "im sorry Y/N, inever realised how badly i have hurted you" i saw him looking at me, policemen ran past me arresting him, "Ma'am you will have to come to the staion and write a statement of everything that happened," i nodded "but i can also show you what happened as well" i said lifting jumper up a it to show some of my burns and cut, he nodded and made me follow, i walked downstairs to see vernon, i immeditaly ran to him and hugged him, his arm wrapped around me "Ma'am would you want him to come to the station" the police men said "yes please" vernon held my hand interwinding his fingers with mine, as we walked to the poice car, "im gonna tell the guys that we are heading to the police station and we will be there a while" i nodded as he got his phone out, to call one of the boys.
we arrived at the police statement, they made me get photos of scars and burns, from my arms to legs to my stomach. i sat down with vernon next to me rubbing his thumb on my back as i written things down, "would you like a drink of coffee, tea or water" the man asked "water please" i asked and smiled he nodded looking at vernon as well "water as well" he nodded and to pour us a glass of water, "ill pay you back when i can for the tickets" i said, still writing down "dont worry, no need to pay, and he done this much, you written 3 pages at least" he said now with his hand on my knee "thank you, and yep from when we began to date, to now" i said placing a full stop, the man gave us water "thank you" i took the glass and drank the water "i have finished my statement, three pages" i said passing the man the pen and paper "thank you, when you are done with drinking i will take you home" the man said "thank you" vernon said, i drank more and placed the cup down, "my hand gone numb" i said ming my fingers, i placed my head on vernon shoulder as he carried on drinking "just think when we get back we have macdonalds, unless the boys have eaten them" vernon said placing his hand on my head "i hope they havent" i said smiling "we are ready sir" vernn said.
we got back and bowed to the man "thank you" i said as he drove away, we walked inside, and saw the boys sat on the floor or the couch "hey is everything okay" i said as we walked in "its more like are you two okay" Joshua said "i think he is okay, me im still a bit i shock, but i am hungry so did you guys save me some MacDonalds or eat it" i said sitting on the floor with verno sitting next to me, DK got up and ran to the kitchen bring two massive bags of MacDonalds, and passed it to me and Vernon "thank you" we both said we began to eat, and explain what happened including me with showing some of my scars and cuts.
I walked into vernon room with him behind, i opened the window and grabbed his chair and moved it at the window, watching outside "why are you doing that" he came up behind me and placed a hand on my shoulder "i am just used to always doing this it calms me, i guess it was my escape" i said leaning back "well, you can do whatever you want here, you arent there anymore" he crouching next to me "i know but it does sometimes feel like a dream and that i will wake up any moment back there" i said looking at him, "you are safe, its not a dream, you are now okay" he said placing his hand on my cheek "i hope i am" i said looking into his eyes, he moved, forward placing his other hand in my hand, he came closer "i will protect you" he said touching his lips on mine, i shut my eyes kissing him back, this felt more right, this felt like love, i began to have hope.
