Jungkook was rushing to get his shoes on and struggled to get the shoelaces tied, his parents asked him why he was in such a rush but Jungkook just ignored them due to only having Jimin on his mind.
He opened the door and jogged the short distance to the car to then hop inside and inserted the key to give life to the car, his parents went out the house yelling "Jungkook where are you going?' to back up the small driveway and drove crazily to the hospital.
Jungkook arrived to the hospital without being stopped by any police and without any injuries, he parked the car in front of the hospital and quickly took the key out to open the door and slamming it shut. He ran inside going up a couple stairs to then met a young woman at the reception table, as his shoes squeaked from the sudden halt causing the nurse to look up with a smile.
"I'm here in regards of Park Jimin. Any news?" Jungkook asked inbetween breaths as he tried to regain his breathing from the amount of running he did.
The nurse looked down at the computer and she began typing, she finally spoke after a long pause which to Jungkook was the most longest wait ever. "Park Jimin is still undergoing surgery, his injuries seem to be severe." The nurse looked up at Jungkook with a sad smile.
"Do you know what exactly happened to him?" Jungkook asked. The nurse looked at the computer once again and scrolled her mouse down.
"From what paramedics examined, he suffered some trauma to the head and some broken ribs overall his head-trauma is causing him to be in severe condition." Jungkook was shocked to hear the news, he felt a knot form in his throat but he felt the need to ask him where they found him so he gained the courage and asked.
"Where did they find him?"
"Park Jimin was found near a hill, the drop was very deep. I think it was near Guapcheong the area was filled with so many flowers. Do you recognize the area by any chance?" The nurse asked Jungkook.
It was where Jungkook and Jimin had first met, Jungkook was 8 by the time and Jimin was 10 years old. Jungkook lived near the area so he would always wander and get lost in the forest, until one day Jungkook was laying down on the flowers as he closed his eyes he heard leaves being crushed underneath which caused Jungkook to snap his eyelids open. He got up and immediately put his fists up as if they were going to do something, he looked around the area and saw eyes in the bushes.
'Who are you? What's your name?" Jungkook asked loudly.
As Jungkook spoke the eyes began to move to then introduce a kid he seemed to have really puffy eyes from what he guessed was from too much crying. He seemed to be older than Jungkook showing from his features, although Jungkook was a bit taller then the older one. After the two had began introducing each other they seem to hit it off, they agreed to meet each other at that exact spot at a specific time and the two would be there on time as agreed. It went on until they became young adults never wanting to end the tradition but it seemed that that tradition would be cut short.
Jungkook's legs began to tremble and felt as if he were to move they would give in, the nurse seemed to notice what was happening to him so she got out of her seat and went to his side and guided him to a chair nearby.
"I understand that to you the world seems to be ending...but you must have faith in order for your friend to survive this. I'll be back with some water. I'll keep you informed if there are any updates on his condition, alright?" The nurse looked at Jungkook waiting for a response and Jungkook could only answer with a nod.
With that the nurse went to bring a cup of water for Jungkook, once she was no longer in sight he burst into tears letting every emotion pour out, every emotion was letting itself known; anger, sadness, desperation, regret.
He began to fear the worst, he began to think of the many possibilities of how Jimin would die, he would never had imagined that those cliche kdramas would become real, he'd make fun of how unrealistic the blood looked but he'd never imagine for something to occur to his beloved Jimin.
Jungkook wiped his tears away and decided to close his eyes for a bit, he laid his head against the wall and closed his eyes while intertwining his fingers together. As he closed his eyes he heard commotion happening causing him to snap his eyelids open, he looked around and saw many nurses running into the emergency room and as Jungkook watched that happen he hoped that it wasn't Jimin who was in need of that many nurses.
Jungkook saw the nurse walking towards him with a cup of water and a clear container that contained two slices of sandwiches. "I bought you a sandwich just in case you were hungry."
Jungkook thanked the nurse and retrieved the sandwich and water from her hands, she walked back to her station on the reception desk and began doing her desk work. He opened the container and took one of the slices to then take a small bite from it, he didn't have the will to eat but his stomach was growling since he didn't eat dinner.
Jungkook sat in the waiting alone until he heard a familiar voice, "How is he? Will he be okay? Tell me something!"
Jungkook looked up and looked at the nurse noticing Jimin's parents had finally arrive to the hospital, he stood up placing the sandwich onto a chair next to him.
The nurse looked at Jungkook causing for Mrs.Park to turn around, she didn't seem so happy to seem me all I could see in her eyes were hate and anger, she began to walk towards him until a doctor stopped her from doing anything else.
"Are you related to Jimin?" The doctor asked.
They all nodded and kept looking at the doctor hopping for some good news to come from him.
"He's now out of surgery so we're taking him to a room but they're unsure if he'll wake up since...he's stuck in a coma.." The doctor gave a sympathetic look and excused himself, Jungkook's heart broke even more realizing that Jimin would be stuck in a sleeping state for who knows how long.
"Is there a chance I could see him?" Jungkook heard how quiet his voice unsure if the nurse had heard him.
Mrs.Park turned to Jungkook and finally spoke, "You are no longer welcome to Jimin's life anymore! How dare you ask if you can see him! Are you aware of what you have caused?"
Jungkook widened his eyes surprised by her remark and how she knew that Jungkook was the cause of all this.
Mrs.Park once again spoke, "You only came to intoxicate my poor son's mind into thinking of liking men. You only came to his life to bring negativity..."
Jungkook was taken aback by how Jimin's mother viewed things, she had been nice to him even after Jimin had come out but he didn't expect for her to feel such a way.
Mr.Park intervened before his wife could hurt Jungkook even more. "Honey, please its not the time to go off at him. He's also hurting..come on. Let me get you a coffee"
With that they walked off to the hospital's cafeteria leaving Jungkook alone, he still wanted to see Jimin so he walked to the desk.
"Is it possible that I can see him?" Jungkook asked the nurse.
The nurse nodded and guided him to Jimin's room, she slid the door open and waited for Jungkook to walk in so she could check on Jimin's vitals.
Once Jungkook walked in he was shocked to see bruises covering most of Jimin's once beautiful face, his plump lips looked as if a vibrant red.
Jungkook never imagined to see Jimin this bruised up, he thought that he would be the first one to get the bruises from some fight he would somehow get involved with just not his beloved Jimin.
The nurse looked at Jimin's monitor and wrote down some notes on the clipboard which had clipped on his injuries and many other medical information.
Jungkook scooted a chair next to Jimin's bed, he looked at Jimin's slim and tiny fingers and grabbed it to hold it between his hands. He moved Jimin's hand close to his face and rubbed his thumb on the back of it in such a soothing way and he held his hand in a scared way due to not wanting to loose Jimin.
Jungkook spent the night by Jimin's side, he would just sit there staring at him and he'd have flashbacks of the memorable times the two of them had shared. He mostly enjoyed remembering the time Jungkook had admitted his feelings towards Jimin.
*Flashback*
Jimin and Jungkook were just laying down on their usual spot in the forest surrounded by daisies, Jungkook was rambling about something that he no longer recalls but the conversation lead to him making a random scenario of a friend although the friend was Jimin but the other boy was oblivious of who the younger one was talking about.
Jungkook was talking until he somehow described the features of the person without realizing it and it shocked Jimin to know that it was him, the older one was Jungkook's crush. As soon as Jungkook listened to what he was saying his eyes widened and the younger's face began to turn red, Jimin just let out a chuckle.
"So you have a crush on me, Jungkook?" Jimin felt his heart flutter knowing that the guy he fell in love loved him back.
Jungkook nodded his head slowly avoiding eye contact with the older one, Jungkook suddenly was pinned down onto the grass and embraced in a hug.
*End of Flashback*
Jungkook smiled remembering how he had admitted his feelings towards the older one, he laid his head on the bed where Jimin was on and took in a deep breathe in as he shut his eyes closed to fall into a deep slumber.
*Days Later*
As each day passed, Jungkook would visit Jimin even though Mrs.Park no longer wanted him there.
The younger one would wash him up with a towel soaked in soap and water and clean Jimin up. He would try to be careful when it came to cleaning his healing bruises because he didn't want to put pressure on them as he knew that they would be hurting Jimin.
Jungkook would also talk to Jimin about his day and what he spent doing, which would end up with him breaking down and feeling awful about the fact they had fight leading into Jimin laying in the hospital.
Every time the younger one would visit Jimin he would ask the nurse if anything had happened with the older one, which he would hope for Jimin to wake up but the nurse would shake her head making Jungkook sigh.
*One Year Later*
It was now a year since the accident had happened but Jimin didn't wake up which made Jungkook slowly lose hope of the older one waking up, but he never stopped believing that Jimin would one day wake up cause he knew deep down in his heart that Jimin would wake up eventually.
One day Jungkook came in and saw Jimin's parents dressed in all black, he walked in and looked at the nurse and doctor standing near Jimin's bedside. His relationship with Jimin's mother had gotten better due to her feelings changing towards the boy but something felt off about her...
The younger one was unsure of what was happening but deep down he knew what Jimin's parents were getting ready to do and Jungkook wasn't going to let that happen.
"W-what's happening..?" Jungkook asked.
Jimin's parents shot their heads towards Jungkook and afterwards the doctor and nurse.
"Jungkook...my sweet boy... " Jimin's mother said as she walked towards Jungkook to cup his face.
"Jungkook...there is a time in which we need to let go of people we love the most... Jimin needs to rest... rest in peace.." Jimin's mother said as tears formed in her eyes.
Jungkook shook his head and backed away from Jimin's mother's touch, he couldn't believe that Jimin's own parents would let Jimin die.
"No! N-no! You can't do this to Jimin! I-I know he's going to wake up ev-eventually! I know he is!" Jungkook yelled out.
"Mr. Jeon Jungkook, Mr. Park Jimin is dead. He has had no activity when it involves to his brain and well... his parents can no longer pay for keeping him alive." The doctor spoke looking at Jungkook.
Jungkook passed his hands through his hair in desperation, he wouldn't let Jimin just die like that, Jungkook had to do something.
'I-I'll pay the bills but I won't let him die just like that! I-I'll work two shifts to pay the bills even BUT I'M NOT LETTING HIM DIE!" Jungkook yelled causing everyone the room to look down.
"Mr. Jeon Jungkook, I'm afraid that you have no say in this... Mr. Park's parents are the only ones who are able to decide with what is best for their son. " The doctor said after a long pause.
Jungkook couldn't think of any form of convincing Jimin's parents to keep Jimin alive although.. The younger one walked towards Jimin's parents and fell onto his knees and begged his parents. He begged and begged with tears now falling down his eyes, he felt that he was putting a lot of energy onto begging.
Jimin's father pulled him up and cleaned the tear that was slowly falling down Jungkook's cheek, his father shook his head with tears in his eyes.
"Please disconnect him... Jimin doesn't deserve to live in this state..." Jimin's father said.
The doctor nodded and asked the nurse to turn the monitor off, Jungkook began yelling, he ran towards the nurse who had become his friend during the time Jimin was hospitalised.
Jungkook was restrained by Jimin's father but the younger one thrashed in his arms yelling for the nurse to stop. The nurse looked at Jungkook with pity eyes and finally did what was asked.
Jungkook let out a scream before seeing anything happen, he was removed from the room only to hear the monitor that kept the older boy's heart going dead.
Jungkook felt sick to his stomach, this couldn't be happening to him, his loved one can't be dead. He can't...
