I stared out of the window of my office deflated. I felt powerless because I couldn’t help her. I couldn’t help Celeste. It has been almost a week and Celeste has been unable to change back into her human form. No matter how much we try to explain the process after countless tests from our and other doctors, we couldn’t figure out why she was unable to shift. It had to be psychological.
Celeste was becoming more and more withdrawn and isolated from me and the others. She spent her time by the lake just staring into the water or just wandering around the woods on the property. She has refused to come anywhere near the pack house and avoided crowds.
The only time we seemed to connect was when I was in wolf form and although we still couldn’t communicate, we connected on a more spiritual level. I was more attune to her feelings and we have concocted our own language. It took her about two days after her shift to get use to her wolf form and be comfortable with her new body. Her wolf was slightly bigger than the average she-wolf and she was fast. I know it has something to do with her bloodline and maybe that’s why she was immune to my alpha command.
“Son? Colin!” my mother’s voice broke through my train of thoughts and I turned as she was shutting the door.
“Any luck?”
“I’m sorry, no. She really tried but wasn’t able to shift or communicate.” My mom arrived two days ago, in hopes that she could help since she was also a Luna. My mom made a last attempt to help Celeste before she return home to my older brother, James, who was expecting his first child any day now.
“I really appreciate you coming out. I know Celeste does too. Dylan is ready to take you to the airport.”
“I can stay longer if you need me too?”
“Thanks, go home. I know you want to be home when your first grandchild is born. Tell James and Nicole I said congratulations and give my nephew a kiss for me. I will call you if there is any change.” I gave her a hug and we started walking towards the door. I wanted to be with Celeste.
“Have patience, I’m sure you two will figure it out. She might just need more time to adjust. It isn’t everyday that a grown person shifts into a wolf for the first time; it can be taxing on the body and the mind. Once everything works out I want you two to come up and visit, everyone misses you.”
“I promise we will and I miss everyone too. Call me when you get home.” I walked her out to car and watch as Dylan drove off. I would’ve taken her myself but I couldn’t part from Celeste even for a few hours.
If we didn’t find something soon, I will have to take her to the council and let her see the doctors there. I wanted to avoid that all costs, because that would lead to a lot more problems. They would know either we lied about finding her ancestry or try to run a battery of test to find out more about her bloodline. I was not willing to risk that just yet. I have to protect her true identity from the council.
I shifted into my wolf sniffing out Celeste’s scent. Her addictive scent called out to me and I followed passing the lake to the secluded house where we spent our honeymoon. The cabin has become like her second home and she gravitated towards soon after she learned to run.
I spotted her curled up on the porch and as I approach I watched as she raised her nose to the air catching my scent. She leaped up jumping off the porch charging straight for me. I surprised by her excitement at seeing me, I thought she would be wallowing in her bout of failure with my mom.
My blood boil with lust as she rubbed her body against mine nuzzling her nose in my neck. I didn’t complain but return her affection. God I miss holding her and making love to her. I wanted to taste her so bad I started lapping her face and she immediately backed off. She nudges me with her head and looks towards the trees. I knew she wanted us to run.
She sprinted off and I chased her and we indulge in a game of cat and mouse as she toyed with me. Damn she was fast and I followed suit letting her get the lead and racing around the woods. We played for hours and for the first time she seemed different. Celeste seems to finally accept her wolf letting go of herself and letting instincts take over. She ran with a sense of freedom and abandonment as she teased me until I now had her pinned on the ground underneath me.
I couldn’t resist and starting licking her fur and showing how much I loved her.
“Dammit, Colin stop licking me in my face! That’s disgusting!” I stilled at the sound of her voice in my head. What the hell, did she just talk to me? I raised up on my paws looking down at her.
“Celeste?”
“What?” Oh shit she responded to me. I couldn’t believe it! I’m not imagining it!
“Colin! Stop freaking licking me!”
“Celeste you can hear me!” Celeste stopped twisting and stares at me.
“Colin? Colin! Colin! You can hear me!”
“Yes babe.”
“Ahhhh! I can hear you too! I’m not going crazy!”
“You are not crazy! You are beautiful, intelligent, and…” Celeste twisted under me and knocked me off of her as she started jumping around excitedly and running circles around me.
“You can hear me! I can hear you! We can talk! How is this happening? My head doesn’t hurt anymore! Oh my gosh, what the hell? Colin, I’m a freaking wolf and I’m gonna be stuck like this forever.”
“Celeste calm down. No you are not going to be stuck as a wolf. Let me help you shift back.”
“Shift back, oh my gosh, do you know how that sounds? Shift? I’m a wolf. I’m a wolf.”
“Baby, I need you to focus. Calm your mind, I don’t want you to shut me out again.”
“Calm down? Calm down! I turned into a freaking wolf! Which by the way you all said was impossible! If you were to turn into a giraffe right now lets see how calm you would be. I think for a second I’m allowed to freak out since this is the first you can actually hear me.”
“Fair enough. Continue.” I sat and watch as Celeste pace back and forth raving about changing into her wolf, how embarrassing it was for her to be treated like a baby in the beginning. I started to tune her out as she continue because at this moment I couldn’t care less what she was saying, I was just happy to hear voice. She was coming back to me and I couldn’t be any happier. “Colin, are you listening to me?”
“Huh?” Celeste was no longer pacing and sitting in front of me growling. Aw damn, I’ve been caught. “Of course, sweetheart, I was listening to every word you were saying.”
“Really, then what was the last thing I said?’
Think, think, what the last thing she said..”Umm, how embarrassed you were about me seeing you pee?” Yep, that was it.
“Wrong, I was talking about your mother. Since I seem to be boring you that you can’t even listen to me, I will find someone else to talk to you.”
“No! Look I’m sorry, I’m so happy to hear sound of your voice, I lost myself. You are right I should have paid more attention.”
“Alright, I will let you off the hook this time. So tell me how are you going to help me shift back. I ready to get my body back.”
“Let’s go into the cabin.” I followed close behind as we made our way back to the cabin. I got lost in her heavenly scent sniffing at her backside. Damn I needed her.
“Colin quit sniffing my butt.”
“Why it’s my butt, I can sniff it if I want too.”
“Eww, you are disgusting.” Celeste trotted away from me and of course I chased right after her jumping onto her back. “Get off me you horny wolf. There is no way that is going to happen.”
“What?” I laughed at her dirty mind.
“No wolf sex, that is just wrong.”
“Babe it’s nature.”
“Well that’s not happening.”
“Hey don’t knock it until you try it.”
Celeste growled at me running the last few yards into the cabin. I shifted back into my human form and enter the cabin. It was time to get serious and I went to grab pillows and blankets and place them in the middle of the living room floor.
“What are you doing?”
“Making a comfortable area for us.” I lay down on my side on the pile of blanket and patted the empty spot in front of me. “Come here.”
“But I’m filthy.” She whined.
“Come here Celeste.”
Celeste cautiously moved forward and lay down on her belly next to me. I gently position her so that she was lying on her side and I was spooning her backside. Her fur felt great against my skin and I started to slowly stroke her from her head down to her ass.
“Close your eyes and relax your mind. Empty it of all thoughts; I just want you to listen to my voice. First, I want to tell you that you are my everything, my world, the reason for me to breathe. I love you with all of my heart, body, and soul and I would be lost without you. No matter what happens I will always be by your side. I want you to picture yourself how I see you. I love when your scrunch your nose when you are irritated, the way you nibble on your lip when you are concentrating, and how your eyes sparkle when you are excited. I love the feel of her hair on my face, the sweet smell of your skin when you come out of the shower, the slight sway of your hips when you walk, and the curve of your butt in tight jeans.” I continually stroked Celeste as she whimpered as her body started the process of transformation back into her human form. “I am mesmerized by the movement of your slender fingers as the glide over the piano keys, Your sighs and giggles makes my heart race and the love you show to the kids swells my heart with pride. I love listening to you sing in the shower when you think I’m gone.”
“Colin.” Finally I hear her actual voice, it sounded hoarse and weak. Celeste was limp her nude body slightly shaking. I turned her over to me and wrapped her in my arms placing soft kisses on her tear stained face.
“I got you, babe.” I scooped her body up and precede to the bedroom.
“I love you.”
“I love you too, Celeste.” Nothing could tear me away from my beautiful mate. She was curled up into my chest vulnerable and exhausted. I knew she was in pain from the shifting and decided that we would have a hot bath to help soothe her body. I let the water run never letting her out of my arms and once full I lowered us both in the water. “I want you to relax, I’m going to take care of you.”
Celeste place a kiss against my throat, “I’m all yours.”
