It had been a few weeks since the last time Delsin had been in Nighteye agency or even heard from the agency all together since the altercation with Chisaki and he was beginning to wonder what was going on and what Nighteye was up to. He would have contacted him but Togata had informed them that until further notice, the boss will contact them and they mustn't contact him which only field Rowe's suspicions. Was he tracking down Overhaul and Shei Hassaikai himself now? What was going on?
But more issues had been pressing in his life as of now as Izuku was being all silent and sad lately, always in his head more than usual and it was kinda pissing him off. He was beginning to know how the others felt when he went through that troublesome phase himself and it wasn't fun. He remembered having asked if he was alright but the boy walked by him while wiping tears in his eyes, not saying a word to him so he decided to leave the issue alone for now, believing it was the boy's passing emotions so it would be alright and if it continues, he'll step in and deal with it, as a true friend would.
Another thing that was truly taxing was that his problem with Sebastian and this Blast shard. After doing his research and learning more on Chisaki, Sebastian had given him the run down of what was going on in terms of the Shie Hassaikai that Nighteye failed to elaborate on. From the word of a local spy in the dark dealings in Yakuza gangs who had a dealing with the Shie Hassaikai group, Apparently, the gang was selling these unique weapons to the customers that could be quite deadly when faced for the heroes.
It wasn't something that really shocked Delsin all that much, given that Zeke, when he was still alive, was attempting to work on the same type of thing using the RFI but it was a nightmare turned reality. Overhaul meant to put heroes out of work for good and make the Yakuza back on top again if he were to succeed. But another problem waged on his mind but this problem was something he feared the answer for. He asked Sebastian if he can dig up more information on a little girl named Eri and explained her situation.
He didn't care what Nighteye said. He was right to say that rushing would expenetionally make things worse but he can't, in good conscious, let her be in the hands of this villain. He couldn't. He would save that girl if it was the last thing he'd do. But another problem was brewing. Sebastian dug a little more on the activity on Shie Hassaikai with Zeke's spy group and he found some strange reports of two men wearing cult robes, leaving the Shie Hassaikai'supposed hang out spot.
One of the spys, which happened to be a homeless man that goes from street to street to get the ear out for info, had saw them leave himself. One had a wolf mask and another a dragon one. When Sebastian relayed that to Delsin, he knew exactly what he was dealing with. It was him. Reggie Rowe, his older brother. Wolfe knew what this meant when he told Rowe of his elder brother's envolvement in the Shie Hassaikai but instead of a fit of rage, he got a small smile.
"This time, I'll fight him on equal footing! I won't flinch nor will I waver. I will stop you" was what he said before he bagan to train his body for the day which led to right now, Delsin working on his Ray Field Blast. He had just started his training on this power move back when he used it on All For One and earlier on that Nomu creature. Those times he just used it on full blast but he wanted to see if he can concentrate the energy instead of blow up an entire area. By mixing his Conduit quirk power, which was 20% total, with John's quirk, which is still at 30%, he now reaches 50% of his power which to where he should be at when at full power, he's technically halfway of his true strength.
But right now, he was concentrating on lowering his energy to get a more precise attack like Bakugo’s AP Shot, as inspiration. When he released his blasts, it was way too destructive and when he fired those off, he was insanely lucky he didn't kill anyone at those times but he was tired of being lucky. He needed to master this power before he can officially use this in battle without worrying about everyone's safety. Staring at a lifeless mannequin, Delsin began to power his blast in his hand.
Sebastian was on the side of his training area which happened to be a secluded part of town, a forest that no one really goes to anymore. "Focus it, Delsin. You must focus that power in your hand but don't let it explode, filter it". Delsin concentrated on his target, raised his hand and began to channel his energy at the mannequin. 'Concentrate! CONCENTRATE! Delsin you can do this! Think of Tony Star's repulsor beams, think like that... Yeah that'll do it' he thought before he began to shoot a very strong blast that took off the mannequin's head before flying back into a wall.
The shot was short but it was small and concentrated, it looked like Delsin's Neon power but it was white and the energy was powerful, it made your hair stand up. That was concentrated Ray Field energy. Wolfe clapped his hands together. "Not bad, Rowe! Not bad at all! Although it's not what we wanted, it's a start. You have an idea of what you want right?". Delsin got up from the ground and patted himself from the dirt. "Yeah! I know what I want. It's gonna be the same thing as a regular blast but smaller. I realized that during those times I used this power move things change each time".
"Oh? How so?". "The shape in the power of Ray Field Blast. When I first used the move, it was on Nomu, it wasn't even concentrated, I just punched him and let all the energy do its work but it caused a lot of damage and I nearly killed my friends when I did that. The other time was with All For One but what was different about that time was that I had more control but my power still went overboard but it was concentrated enough to only attack him and not all around me like Nomu.....".
"So what was the situation there?". Delsin looked at him curiously. "I... Was only thinking of beating All For One and.... Protecting my friends". Sebastian smiled. "And when you were dealing with Nomu? Did you feel the same then too?". Delsin thought for a while recalling the moment then and remembered the feeling of taking on Nomu"Then think of those moments when you were in danger, when your friends were in danger. What were you feeling then and try and feel it now". Delsin nodded his head and stared at the headless mannequin again, raising his hand to the mannequin and searched deep within himself.
He found himself fearing the deaths of his friends and girlfriends. His aunt and little sister, his teachers. The people he grew to love so much, dying at the hands of evil, at the hands of his brother. Seeing his brother harm the ones closest to him built a fire in him that sent him wild. Seeing Reggie turn to face him with that sadistic grin on his face while he butchered them, saying a sentence that brought him pure rage and despair. 'Now it's just me and you, like it should've been....don't let your feelings of love blind you, little brother'. He opened his eyes and fired of a small concentrated beam of energy that lasted 3 seconds before it stopped.
Sebastian put a hand on his shoulder. "Now that's progress!" he smiled. Delsin smirked. It was a break through but he still had a long way to go before mastering this technique. Suddenly, Delsin's phone began to ring. He ran to his book bag that he brought with him and answered. "Hello?". "Rowe-san, it's me, Nighteye. I hope I'm not interrupting anything important?". Delsin widen his eyes, surprised to hear from him so suddenly. "No... No no, I was just training but I finished just now actually. What do you need? Are you calling us in now?". "Not now. Tomorrow, at my office building. Don't be late!". With that, the call ended nearly as quick as it started. Delsin checked the time to see that it was already 12 at night.
He had been training with Wolfe for the entire two weeks he was waiting for Nighteye and he can safely say he was better than he once was before. He was back in shape and better than when he left off thanks to Augustine's quirk to boot. He began to pick up his belongings before turning to Sebastian. "I have to go, my agency needs me to be there bright and early tomorrow so best get some sleep. Do you need and help cleaning up, old man?". Sebastian glared at Delsin's smirking face. "OLD MAN?! Well?!! I'll have you know that I'm only-".
"195 years old, you geezer!" Rowe interrupted before having to duck from the mannequin attack. "Please?! Keep it down! In public, I'm at least 80 years old!" Delsin widen his eyes. "Okay old man!" he said before he used his Light Speed to head back to the dorms for rest leaving Sebastian to himself to clean up the mess.
The next morning, Delsin woke up beside his hot rich girlfriend before getting out of bed to get ready and was seen walking out of the dormitories at 8 am, accompanied by Izuku who walked silently behind him. They walked out the compound before heading to the station in nothing but silence which Delsin had enough of. "Okay, what's your deal? Why are you so upset all of a sudden?". Izuku remained silent. "Is it about Eri? We're going to save her Izuku". Midoriya smiled slightly. "I know that. I wasn't thinking about that but... Can I ask you something?". The Conduit Mode user turned to Izuku curiously.
"Did um... John... You know the Beast... Um... Did he ever have any other...candidates for h-his quirk?". Delsin thought of the question before stopping completely, making Midoriya stop as well. "Well I have to say yeah, I mean, All For One was also a wielder of John's quirk before me and so was my brother. Though, John had no idea that Reggie was given his power at that moment but it is what it is. Why? What makes you ask?". Midoriya frowned a bit before he turned to Delsin. "All Might... He.. He told me that he was considering choosing Togata-san as his successor before he chose me and didn't tell me". "Oh I see where this is going. So you're wondering if it's the right choice for you to be the successor when Mirio should've been chosen?".
Midoriya nodded, leaving Rowe to walk past him. "Well, I believe All Might was right not to tell you". Izuku jumped back in shock. "How could you say that?! Do you have any idea how I feel?!". Delsin turned to Midoriya and glared slightly, having Midoriya flinch a little. "Yeah, I do know how you feel and honestly, it's pointless. You should trust All Might’s judgement. Do you think he would still give you One For All when he still had Mirio in his mind? He chose you because you surpassed his own expectations, you showed him that there was more to you than just a quirkless kid, you showed him that you were more worthy to accept One For All!".
Midoriya watched as his friend in awe. "But N-N-Nighteye-". "Oh please, Nighteye is just upset that his beliefs weren't valued by All Might and is taking his anger out on you since you're All Might’s chosen one. I don't know why you heed the words of the sidekick rather than the actual hero himself who believes in YOU. It's All Mights quirk at the end of the day, he chose who HE thought was worthy, it wasn't nor will it ever be up to Nighteye who was worthy or not. Let him have his opinions, it doesn't matter unless its what All Might thinks". "Besides, if All Might gave his quirk to Mirio, he'd be too op. No one would be able to stop him which means he might beat me from becoming the number one hero and that'll be a problem I won't be able to live with. So technically, All Might secured my spot".
Izuku playfully frowned. "Hey! Are you saying that I can't beat you?". Delsin looked at him smugly. "Maybe one day, Deku but right now, I'm outta your league!" Delsin said before running to the station with Midoriya chasing him with a OFA infused fist. 'But you're right though, Delsin-san. I must believe in All Might’s judgment, trust in his belief in me and make him proud' Izuku thought before continuing to chase the Conduit Mode user.
After horsing around for a while, the two board the train before he was tackled by a blue flash. "Hey future husband!" Nejire yelled as she piggy backs him, kissing his cheek heavily. "Nejire... I missed you" He smiled wholeheartedly, before turning around and kissing her on her lips, getting a cute moan from her. "I miss you too, Delsin-kun" She said with a blush. Izuku blushed at the sight but was soon interrupted by Togata slapping him on the back. "Hey it's my co-worker! Hey! How ya been?!". Izuku rubbed his back from the firm slap. "C-C-Could be better without the assault, thanks".
Togata laughed while Amajiki, who was behind Mirio, sighed as no one was looking at him. "I never attain any attention.... This blows..." he said to himself while brooding in the corner of the train. One one of the train stops though, Kirishima, Uraraka and Asui were seen running on it panting. "Oh thank God..... we made it....good call.... Running to the next stop Asui-san" Kirishima said. "Ribbit!" was her response. Uraraka looked on the train for a seat but saw Delsin and Izuku talking to the Big 3 and rushed over. "Deku-kun! Rowe-san, Hado-san!". She rushed over to them followed by the other two. "Hey guys! What's up! What're you guys doing here?" Delsin asked while cuddling his bubbly blue haired girlfriend.
"Well, we're supposed to meet up at this guy's office for a conference. A dude named Nighteye or something". The three students under said agency were confused. "There was a conference today? Funny, I didn't know?". Nejire chimed in. "Yep, that's where we're headed to. Ryukyu-sama wants us there as well". "And Fat Gum wants us there too, Kirishima-san" Amajiki said from the corner. "Why are you standing there" Delsin asked. "...... Because no one is talking to me...." he said before everyone reached their designated spot where the ones who work with Nighteye themselves lead the way to his office. Once they got there, they noticed multiple heroes were gathered around the area, discussing somethings. Delsin spotted Aizawa and moved to ask.
"Mr. Aizawa! What's going on? What's the meeting for?". Before the man can answer, the person Aizawa was talking to interrupted. "Why is he here? Who let a bunch of kids in here? I thought it was supposed to be" 'Heroes Only' type meeting?" the man said. He was a black man who is below average height, and has dark, curly hair. He has pierced ears with padlocks in them. Notably, his fingertips have protrusions that resemble key teeth. his hero costume is a small white mask that covers his eyes. He wears a necklace around his neck with five keys dangling from it. The man wears a two-colored, short-sleeved shirt with a black section and a white print on it, resembling a keyhole. He wears two light-colored shoulder pads with a dark keyhole shape on both of them.
Delsin watched the person in analyzation before turning back to Aizawa, ignoring the court jester looking man. "Well what's up?". "I believe it's about to start soon so you'll know then" Aizawa said getting Rowe to nod in understanding. Soon enough, Nighteye enters the room and stats speaking, getting everyone's attention. "I want to thank all of you for coming here on such a short notice given some of you here have very taxing duties to uphold so I will try to make this quick. I've invited you all here to discuss and share the plans of Shie Hassaikai and its associates". That got Delsin, Izuku, Ochako, Eijiro and Tsuyu's attention.
After everyone was seated, the meeting began. "So everyone, as I said the reason for this meeting is to discuss the villain association, Shie Hassaikai. They have been moving very strangely during these past few months and my agency have been tracking their suspicious movements" Nighteye started. "They have been meeting around town underground, meeting with various other villains, teaming up with them in order to increase their numbers and finances. It was also good to reveal that Shie Hassaikai has had contact with the Leauge of Villains as well but I wouldn't know there motives for joining them" a centipede looking guy said.
"I can take a guess" Delsin said, raising his hand, getting the other heroes attention. The one beside him just scoffed. "Yeah right! He's just a kid. What would you know about this?". Delsin glared at the same man who pressed him before the meeting. "Rock Lock" Fat Gum said in a disapproval tone. "Well for your information, Rock Lock, I would have an opinion since me and my class not only encountered the League of Villains but also their boss, All For One, which I know for a fact that you haven't because you wouldn't be here today to be such an annoyance so can I talk now?" he said glaring at the man on his right while Nejire, who was on his left tried to soothe him from being so annoyed.
Rock Lock glared heatedly at him before being quiet. The others chuckled at the remark at Lock's lack of ability since it was a kid who delivered it. "Any way, I believe the League of Villains is working with Shie Hassaikai for a deal of some sort. it has to be. The two groups are just too opposite to believe they would do it for nothing. Tomura isn't one to play nice with others he cannot control. Shie Hassaikai is a more organized bunch, they have a purpose for their crazy while The League is just doing this for shits and kicks of evil, they have no other purpose. What do both gangs have in common?".
One of the heroes answers." That their both evil!... Right?" Delsin chuckled. "Close but not quite it. It's the fact that two groups hate All Might". That got the group stirring, Nighteye then questioned him, going along with the theory. "So why did they join up then? What was their cause?". "It's either that they joined up because they balance each other out or Chisaki threatened them all together". Fat Gum turned to the boy. "What do you mean they balance each other out?". Delsin smiled.
"Think about it. The League is a pathetic group that has no sense of good direction. The only reason they lasted this long was because of dumb luck and that warp dude they have to get them out of tight jams. All of them are heavy hitters but none of them since All For One's capture and death has been smart enough for a decent plan, not even Tomura. Shie Hassaikai is all about brains, their plans to move underground for quite awhile without drawing suspicion for so long until now thanks to Nighteye. They have a plan but barely any note worthy pawns or the financial needs to execute them all, unlike the League which they have both.
Shie Hassaikai was betting that the League would join them, their survival and relevance depends on it".
Nighteye eye analyzed it in his head and it did make sense to say that's what they would join up for. Shie Hassaikai probably promised them the world to which the League, despite their high egotistical view, agreed to work with them. Bubble Girl, though kinda proud that her Co-worker was able to piece together a mystery such as that, moved on. "Anyway, we asked around the HN to due the investigation revealing such information about them and here we are?". Ochako turned to Nejire. "What is HN?". "HN is the Hero Network. It is a network that only those with a professional hero license can access. With it, you can study up on other hero activities and even request aid on a mission yourself" the bluenette explained.
Rock Lock began again. "Ugggh! This meeting will take forever since these kids are here! They'll slow down the meeting even further". "Hey! Don't disrespect them. These kids especially Amejiki-san and Kirishima-san are hard working students and are very important to the meeting itself!". Nighteye spoke, looking at Amejiki. "I heard that you were shot with a quirk disabling bullet, were you not, Amejiki-san?". "Whoa, are you okay?!" Togata asked along with Nejire looking worriedly at her friend".
Amejiki sighed. "Don't worry, I'm fine, I can still use my quirk. I guess it was just temporary". "Or it could've been just one of the prototypes that were sold to the lower villains to keep them coming back. This power is a lot like yours, Aizawa-san". Said man spoke up. "No, my quirk doesn't attack the quirk doesn't damage the quirk factor made in a person at birth but merely halts it for the certain amount of time".
"I made sure that Amejiki-san checked into the hospital where he was treated and recovered from the incident but the hospital did report that his quirk factor was damaged. We obtained a sample thanks to Kirishima-san's quick thinking and heroic actions. The weapon was destroyed but we got the bullets". The students looked at Kirishima with praise. "Way to go, dude! That shit's hardcore!" Delsin said. "Really amazing!" Ochako said, getting the redhead to blush from all the praise.
"Anyway, we took the bullets for further analyzation and it came back saying that the inside the bullet contained human blood cells". This made the U.A students quite disturbed at the thought of that. What kind of inhumane things were Shie Hassaikai really doing?
Ryukyu spoke. "I believe that the bullet was created by someone with the quirk of destroying quirks". Delsin's mind went into overdrive, already connecting the pieces of the puzzle, a puzzle which boiled his blood to the point where smoke was leaving his fists and his eyes immediately changed into Laser Focus. "HOW DARE THAT BASTARD?!" he yelled in rage. He was gonna kill him when he crossed paths with him next. How could you do that to the poor girl? Nighteye sighed as he realized that his too smart for his own good intern had figured it out and sighed. "Students of U.A, can you escort Rowe-san out the room for a while, I'll be there shortly after this meeting is over".
The group nodded as Nejire held a shaking Delsin and led him out the room of confused adults. Once the students brought Delsin to an empty hallway, Nejire spoke. "What the hell was that back there?! What's wrong?". "Yeah, what gives, Rowe-san? You're making us look like brats!" Kirishima said. Delsin looked down shaking in anger. ".... It's Eri....". Togata and Midoriya lifted their heads at the name. "What? What's Eri?". "The person they're using to create the quirk destroying bullets! Its Eri....the bandages, the fear in her eyes as she ran from Overhaul, the very same reason she was with him. He's using her....". "To create the bullets.... Eri's quirk was unidentified as well as her background. It could be a possibility" Midoriya finished.
"I remember Nighteye saying that Chisaki's quirk was called.... Well Overhaul. It gives him the ability to break down something with only a single touch of a finger and he can either leave it destroyed, rebuild it or turn it into something new... So in other words....". "Chisaki is turning Eri's blood into weapons. Eri's quirk itself is probably along the lines of quirk destroying or quirk aiding..." Delsin interrupted Togata. The group remained silent as they all listened to Delsin's theory and it shook them. "I'm gonna save her...if its the last thing I'm gonna do, I'M GONNA SAVE HER!" Midoriya yelled, getting Uraraka to blush at him.
"Yeah, me too, I can't call myself a hero if I didn't try to save her as well! I won't be able to call myself 'Lemillion'" Togata yelled. "I think we should all aspire to save this girl, ribbit" Asui said getting the Uraraka and Kirishima to nod as well, agreeing. Amejiki watched from the while in silence but he too agreed and showed it through an awkward smirk he always did. Nejire turned to Delsin, his face was hidden by his hair as his head was looking down. "Delsin-kun?" she asked, worried about him. "Oh I'm gonna do my very best to save her, alright. C could use a friend and Chisaki could use an ass beating!".
The student cheered from his response, eager to stop this guy and save Eri. With the group discussing what was to take place when they encountered the Overhaul villain, the meeting was over in an instant with the students none the wiser until Aizawa and Nighteye came to them. "Well that was impressive, Rowe-san, I didn't expect you to figure it out so quickly. You got a smart head" Nighteye interrupted the groups conversation. "S-S-Sir Nighteye?! The meeting is already over?". "Yes, a 2 hour long meeting is quite enough to talk about various things about Overhaul and Shie Hassaikai" he said fixing his glasses.
Aizawa began. "However, I've been thinking, I might just suspend your work studies since the Leauge is involved. You three have yet to prove your trust to me" Aizawa said, pointing to Rowe, Kirishima and Midoriya. "Although, if I don't allow you to go, I have a feeling you might sneak out and get involved again so I'll allow you to continue. And you two?". Delsin and Izuku turn to look at Aizawa. "Take care of each other and don't do anything stupid". The two nodded before Rowe turned to Nighteye who was beginning to leave. "Sir!" he called out before running to him. "I have some intell I wanted to let you know in case of it occurring in the future on our rescue mission". Nighteye raised his eyebrow in a mockery curious look. "Oh? And how do you know we're doing a rescue mission? Furthermore, how do you know you're going to be on said rescue mission?".
Delsin smirked. "Call it a a hunch but anyway, there is something I have to tell you that may also be in the mission. I would have told you earlier during the meeting but then that all happened". Nighteye sighed. "One must remain calm when facing such issues, Rowe-san. Your calculations on the subject surprised me but your reaction to them did not. Like Midoriya-san, you are quick to rile up, easy to manipulate with your emotions. You must control yourself in the face of an enemy or you'll never truly succeed".
Delsin looked down. The man was right, he was quick to anger and that would be his end if he didn't chill out. Nighteye looked down at his intern. "So, what must you tell me?". Delsin frowned. "It's about my brother and his involvement with the Shie Hassaikai....".
Meanwhile, in a room in the hidden base of the Shie Hassaikai, Alex, Nix and Reggie sat in utter silence for a while till Alex spoke. "You know they found this place right?". Reggie didn't even look up from his hands, playing with a figure made of blood in his hands, making the small figurine dance a bit. "Yep" was all he said. Alex frowned. "Then you know they're coming soon, right?". "Yep". Nix then chimed in, glaring at her leader. "So we just sit here and do nothing?! They can come at anytime and we'll be defenseless!". "Nix shut up!" Alex said, glaring at her but the girl kept going.
"We lost Brooke! We need to be careful!". "You act as if Brooke was the power behind us! She was a pawn and nothing more!". "Alex...." Reggie scolded, still not looking up from his figurine. Alex remained silent as well as Nix since the boss spoke up. "Brooke is a comrade, you shouldn't talk about her like that. She sacrificed herself in the group's name. It just so happens that my little brother was stronger than we thought". "Did you send her to test him?" Nix asked. Reggie scoffed. "I sent her to spread the word, I didn't think my idiot brother would try and fight her... AND ACTUALLY WIN, MINE YOU".
Mercer looked at the elder Rowe in a curious look. "So you probably know that they might even send Little D to come here for us right?". Reggie stopped the figure from dancing and looked up. "I expect him to come, it wouldn't make sense in character to not be here, whether that stupid school tried to stop him or let him go, he'll be here. And when that time comes..... You'll fight him, Alex. He's not ready to face me yet...". "Or you're not ready?" Alex suggested. Reggie scoffed. "I have more than enough power to crush him at the palm of my hand along with the rest of this city! He's but an ant to me". "I mean, emotionally. You're not going to kill him. You still care about him....if you're not going to do it for any sentimental reason, just say the word, I'll kill him myself so you won't have to deal with it!".
Reggie sighed. "It will do you well to stop talking, Alex, lest you wanna start something you can't finish" he said in a calm voice but his aura changed. "No one is to kill Delsin other than me. Fail to comply and I'll kill you". Alex and Nix nodded their heads though Mercer wasn't complying in the slightest. He was tired of being told that Delsin was off limits, he was tired of being held back. He was tired of Reggie. He knew what he was going to do when the time came. He would kill Delsin and when Reggie found out and faced him, he'll kill him as well. "Now leave. I have some planning to do. I'll be in touch with you". The two followed his command, leaving the room, walking along the halls if the Shie Hassaikai hideout.
'You don't even know, Reggie. You think you can keep me bound to you forever? Like some sort of loyal lap dog? Sorry, my loyalty has run thin and its only enough to keep loyalty to myself. Everyone else is a threat....starting with you Little D'.
