Muichiro was stunned by what he was witnessing. Yozora and Rabo were striking each other with their swords at an amazing pace. When one went for a spot they considered a weak point, the other would counter and launch there own strike. It was getting more difficult to keep up with the action when they exchange attacks.
"Breath of the Moon, Sixth Form:Perpetual Night, Lonely Moon - Incessant."
Yozora releases a wild storm of slashes in multiple directions, the crescent blades slicing parts of the valley into rubble. The attack almost reaches Rabo however.
"Shigure Soen Ryu, Second Form:Rolling Rain!"
Rabo creates multiple waves of water around him and crouches whilst holding his sword vertically before himself as a method of defense. The crescent blades tears through it, but ultimately didn't reach Rabo.
"I'm not done, Breath of the Moon, Ninth Form:Waning Moonswaths!!!"
Like he did with Chiyome, Yozora creates a seemingly endless stream of slashes, trying to cut down Rabo from a long distance.
"Shigure Soen Ryu, Fourth Form:May Wind, October Rain."
Rabo synchronizes with Yozora's breathing to dodge the onslaught of the crescent blades. Yozora charged to close the distance as he and Rabo unleash a flurry of strikes against each other.
Onui looked at Muichiro and carries the boy on her back. She knew Yozora couldn't protect them and fight Rabo. So she began to walk out the shrine before whispering something to Yozora.
"Please be sure to come back Yozora."
Rabo saw this happening and had an idea. He knew Yozora was the miracle his mother's family wanted. He knew he had Yaboku's instincts. He just needed to draw them out.
"Shigure Soen Ryu,Third Form: Last Minute Rain."
Rabo soon dropped his sword and kicked the base of the hilt with his foot sending it flying to Onui amd Muichiro. Yozora acted quickly and used his sword to knock the blade away as it landed near Rabo. However, Rabo could see the boy taking deep breaths every now and then.
"He hasn't fully rested after his fight earlier. It seems he may be pushing himself."
"Shigure Soen Ryu, First Form:Axle of Rain."
Rabo's sword got coated in water and he charged at Yozora. He thrusts his sword hoping to impale the boy. However Yozora jumped back and swung his blade against Rabo's to counter.
"Breath of the Moon, Fifth Form:Moon Spirit Calamitous Eddy!"
Without swinging his sword, Yozora makes multiple curved slashes layered over one another, resembling a rising vortex. Numerous chaotic blades originate from these slashes.
"Shigure Soen Ryu, Seventh Form:Splashing Rain."
Rabo holds his sword backwards and spins it to create a whirlwind-like shield. Yozora's attack was being repelled as a result.
"D-dammit......"
"Hahahahaha. Is this all you got? If you miss Sengo Muramasa i might as well let you join him. Shigure Soen Ryu, Fifth Form..........."
Rabo charged at Yozora. He swung his sword, but Yozora used his own sword ready to defend. However instead of an attack, Rabo dropped the sword from his left hand into his other hand and did a genuine slash when Yozora fell for the feint. The sword slashed Yozora's chest as his blood stains the ground.
"......Early Summer Rain. Yozora, do you truly think you can save anyone when you lack the power to save yourself. You are pathetic."
"It's not a matter of if i think i can save anyone, it's that i will."
Rabo walks closer as Yozora wasn't moving. He had a look of disappointment in his eyes. When the distance was shorten, Rabo could hear Yozora focusing his breathing.
"Total Concentration. Breath of the Moon,Fourteenth Form:Catasrophe - Tenman Crescent Moon!!!!"
Yozora swings his sword and creates a chaotic vortex of powerful omni-directional slashes that destroys whatever is caught up within its attack radius. Rabo could feel himself getting slashed in all directions. He could tell Yozora was close to reaching his breaking point and reveal his true nature.
"Yes Yozora!!!! There is no peace on the battlefield, it's CHAOS AND BLOODSHED! SHIGURE SOEN RYU,EIGHTH FORM:POURING RAIN!!!!"
Rabo charges and slashes at Yozora. The blade of his sword cuts around Rabo, performing a cross slash around him. He destroyed some of the crescent blades and cuts Yozora's shoulders and back. However, since he didn't destroy all the blades Rabo's body was covered in slash marks, but he ignores this pain so he can keep fighting with all his power and excitement.
"Dammit.....i was hoping that last attack would get him. Guess he wasn't called God of Calamity for nothing. His Shigure Soen Ryu is deadly."
"Yes!!!! Yozora has almost reached it. Those eyes will show soon, i know it!!! I just need to push him to the breaking point."
Yozora used his sword to help keep himself up. Rabo stood up and lifted his own sword. Both were waiting for the other to make a move.
"Shigure Soen Ryu,Ninth Form:Duplicate Rain."
Rabo slashes upward to create a wave of reflective water,acting as a mirror. Yozora charged and swung his sword only to find out he slashed Rabo's reflection on the water. When he was distracted from the reflection, Rabo striked Yozora from the opposing direction.
"So.....this is it............"
Yozora was falling to the ground. He felt his conciousness slipping. He fought his hardest yet that wasn't enough. He thought of Muramasa and Onui, he fought for them.....and he will keep fighting.
~Yozora's mind~
"Is this how it ends for me? Rabo has more experience and is stronger than me. I guess it was obvious i couldn't keep up."
Yozora felt himself falling and falling, it was as if he was drowning. However he felt one thing, an emotion they he always tried to ignore. Though no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't quite tell what this feeling was.
When he blinked, he was suddenly in a battlefield. He saw Akame, Ibaraki Douji, Okada Izou, Tomoe Gozen, and Mochizume Chiyome's defeated figures. One person stood there with a blade in hand and blood was soaking the blade.
"That person.......he's so calm, he shows no signs of anger or hatred. Nor does he swing his sword with the intent to kill. Who is this man?"
"No, it's not that you're weak. It's that you show mercy to a monster like him. Deep down you still believe there is hope for even Rabo to be saved, but there isn't. Not everyone is able to be saved. The way you are now you'll save no one, not even yourself. To save one means to turn your back on another, there is no such thing as salvation. If you enter this path you'll slowly see your ideal betray you and it will break your soul in half. Even after hearing all this, will you still grip that blade in your hand? Because right now a hero isn't needed. What is needed.....is a warrior."
"Soon that man turned around and all i saw........was my own face."
~Back to reality~
Rabo looked at the boy in curiosity. Soon he charged at Yozora, preparing to kill him where he stands.
"Shigure Soen Ryu,First Form:Axle of Rain."
Once more, Rabo charged at Yozora. He thrusts his sword hoping to impale the boy. However, what happened next caught Rabo off guard as what Yozora was going to use wasn't another form of his breath.
"Shigure Soen Ryu,Second Form:Rolling Rain."
With a calm voice, Yozora creates multiple waves of water around him and crouches whilst holding his sword vertically before himself as a method of defense. Rabo's attack hits this wall of defense as it failed to reach the boy.
"He used my own style against me. Those worthy of being the successor to it only need to see it once to perform it.......hehehehe. HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! You truly are spe-"
Suddenly Rabo felt pain in his chest. When he looked down he saw a deep slash mark on it as blood sprayed from the wound and stained Yozora's face. He looked at Yozora and what he saw brought him joy.
"Yes that's it. Those are the eyes i wanted to see. You've accepted maelstrom and depravity into your heart and soul. Your second personality has all of those attributes into it along with the skill and power to utilize Shigure Soen Ryu. Yes.....now the true battle can begin. Come!!!"
Yozora soon looked at Rabo. His eyes held no emotion in them as they gazed upon him. Yozora held his sword in his hand tightly. His tone was calm, yet chilling to the core.
"You come to me. I'll hack that shit eating grin right off your face."
