NEVER MIND
ʚ chapter seven ɞ
———————————

Annie hadn't left Elijah's side at all that night. Their atmosphere was filled with laughters Asher couldn't get out of Annie for a little over two months. He was jealous, jealous of the way she leaned on him when he made her laugh, jealous of the way he managed to get her out of her shell ever since he made her get in it.

He decided to sit with his friends to get rid of his jealousy a few minutes ago but it only made it stronger. A brunette girl made her way over to him and sat dangerously close to him.

Since Asher turned his camera off, the strippers came and joined them in the living room while some of them left. Every time one of the boys joked around the room was filled with high pitched laughters from the girls. Asher didn't want to be the one to ruin the mood so he laughed along with the rest.

Asher felt a cold hand creep its way up the side of his leg, resting itself on his thigh when she reached the top. The urge to stand up and walk away was getting bigger by the second. The only reason to stay is to get Annie just as jealous as he was, even though she was in a completely different room.

She tracked circles around his upper thigh, purposely letting her hand slip down every now and then. No matter how badly Asher wanted her hand to leave, he didn't budge. Maybe it will do him good for once, maybe it will get his mind off Annie.

He moved his hand from his lap behind her, holding himself up by leaning on the couch. He still didn't pay any attention to her as he focused on the jokes Jack was telling.

He was rubbing his thumb up and down at the hem his her almost nonexistent shirt. He felt goosebumps originate under his thumb. The boys were too busy laughing to even notice Asher's hand sliding up her shirt more and more.

Her shiny brown eyes reminded him of Annie. The way she used to look in his eyes before they kissed drive him insane. He was debating whether or not he should go any further.

He took her hand and let her through the boys to the hallway, oohing sounds echoing behind them as they walked around the corner. His body took over his actions. He was blinded by her brown eyes to notice this wasn't Annie. He melted away in her eyes as he came closer with every breath.

The brown eyed girl brushed her hands up his chest and tried to push him away. Asher grabbed her hands and pulled them next to her head like he used to do with Annie. He was too blinded by her eyes to remind himself to calm down. He knew the girl he was holding to the wall wasn't Annie but there was something in her eyes that reminded him of her.

The girl in his arms began to squirm in his arms and opened her mouth to speak but she was shushed by Asher locking his lips on hers. He thought that if he kissed the mysterious brown eyed girl, he could relive the experiences with Annie.

The girl didn't kiss him back. She kept her lips stiff and refused to move them. Asher was too desperate to have those brown eyes locked with his to care.

Meanwhile in the kitchen, Annie was loving her life talking to Elijah. She hadn't felt this good since two months ago. It was the moment he kissed her for the first time, that had changed her.

An intense amount of feelings ran through her head the second their lips touched. It was that moment she realized her feelings for him didn't go away one bit.

To clarify, Annie had feelings for Asher back in high school. She didn't tell him because she was scared, scared for the thing that happened either way. She let him too close and now she had ruined their bond she has always been terrified of losing.

She knew Asher wasn't ready for a relationship and Annie knew she wouldn't be able to resist him with just being friends with benefits, so she shut herself down. She only talked to him if necessary for work purposes.

"So like what's going on with you? Like relationship wise?" Elijah took another sip of his drink as he leaned a little closer to Annie.

"Me? I'm as single as I can be. Why are you getting nosy all of a sudden? Interrogating me." He had a blush on his cheeks and smiled at her.

He was getting nervous so he leaned up against the counter, letting their hands touch smoothly. Annie looked down at their now intertwined pinkies, the same shade of pink taking control of her cheeks.

"What are your plans for tomorrow?" He asked out of nowhere. The question kind of scared Annie.

"It depends."

"On?"

"What you're asking me next."

He smiled and turned around to face Annie. "I want to treat you on breakfast if I may."

Annie looked down to hide the even brighter blush on her face. She thought about it. Maybe if she will start to like Elijah, her mind will forget Asher. The thought of her and Asher being on normal terms again got rid of the hesitation.

"You may. Not too early I hope because then I might cancel last minute." He smiled and shook his head.

"Ten am?" The remaining strippers left the house and Elijah saw that as a cue to leave as well. "Sharp." He gave her a wink before leaving.

So many things were running through her head right now. Was she really losing her shot with Asher over a boy she just met? She knew her and Asher's bond hasn't been as strong as it has always been but she hoped time would heal.

Even though the strippers have left, all of their friends were still joking around in the living room. Annie needed to clear her head so she went to sit outside. Her mind drifted off into deep thoughts as she looked out on the busy streets of LA.

There were still shivers present in her body from touching Elijah. She hadn't felt anything like this since she touched Asher. She purposely made sure she didn't touch him because she knew it would send shivers throughout her body, not knowing if she could control herself.

Everything used to be so much easier until they kissed, it had spun her mind around. She used to be able to touch him without thinking more of it. They even slept together and she received a kiss on her head every now and then. She thought back at two months ago.

"Asher don't even." He held a bucket filled with glitter above her head ready to pour it all over Annie. He first just sprinkled some on her head, making Annie flip in anger. She threw her hands above her head to smack him, causing the bucket with glitter to fall on top of both of them.

Annies mouth was wide open while Asher tried his best to contain his laughter. Annie hit him softly on his chest multiple times. Asher laughed at how mad she got over glitter falling on her.

He grabbed both her hands and spun her around and held her close so her back was against his chest. "I'm sorry princess. Go shower, I'll clean this up." He kissed the top of her head and gave her a slight push towards her room.

The thought of how quickly they have changed in such a short amount of time scared her. Two months ago all she wanted to do is be close to him, now she won't even dare.

Annie walked inside and was met with a nice warm kitchen. She knew it was actually too cold to be outside but she really needed to be outside to be able to think about her situation.

She walked in the living room but Asher wasn't there. "Has any of you seen Asher?" She saw pity in almost everyone's eyes. "What?" She was getting annoyed with everyone looking at her like Asher ruined her life.

"He.. he uhm. You tell her Johnny." Annie had never seen Jack as shy as she just saw him. It was like he completely forgot how to talk.

"He.. he's in his bedroom." Annie looked at him with confusion written all over her face. "He took one of the girls with him."

Nobody even dared to look up at Annie but in reality Annie wasn't even that scary to see on the outside. But never judge a book by its cover; Annie was livid. She had been hesitating whether or not she should cancel her plans with Elijah out of respect towards Asher.

All the anger inside Annie was invisible on the outside. Her feet dragged herself to her bedroom like her body knew it was better if nobody saw her break down like she was about to do.

She walked around the corner and she was met with Asher, but he wasn't alone. Neither of them heard Annie so none of them broke apart. Asher had his hand on the girls cheek, blocking Annie from seeing who it was.

But nevertheless Annie recognized the girl within seconds. Annie was frozen in shock, not being able to move. She barely got the words out of her mouth. "What the-." Asher and the girl broke apart, confirming Annie was right. "Why the freak are you making out with my little sister?!"
