VanderVall Academy- Thursday 12th April, 2018-
Justin's Office- 6.23am
Justin is sat in his office with his paperwork placed over his desk, pen in hand and a glass of blood at the left side that he has been sipping on as he daydreams of a memory from a few years back of him and Ophelia.
Flashback- Humble Road Park , December 6th,2003
Justin is sat in his car in the Park car park as he watches four year old Kathryn sat in the swing with Seth stood behind her pushing the swing. As Justin sits there he wishes more than anything that that could be him for just one day, to hear Kathryn call him "dad" and to see her smile at him or want to come to him when she is sad. The car door opens and Ophelia gets into the back seats.
"You can't be here, if they see you they will kill her"Ophelia reminds him of the consequences of if she is found
"I just wanted to see her" Justin replies keeping his eyes on his daughter from inside of the car
"I know but we can't chance it" She tells him knowing that even though they both just want to take her back to them it would be far to dangerous.
"Then why are you here? Surely the same rule for me should be applied to you too" Justin pipes up not liking the fact he is being told not to come around when she is always lurking in the shadows"
"It's her birthday where else would i be" Ophelia smiles while watching her daughter playing away
"Four years have come and gone and still no change. Will we ever get our daughter for ourselves?" Justin points out to her having found every moment of those four years excruciating
"One day we will get her to ourselves"Ophelia promised herself not willing to back down
"We are nowhere near further than what we were last year or the year before" Justin spits out thinking about how they are failing
" It's taking longer for me to work my way up the ranks, it's hard having a soul and killing innocent people" Ophelia reminds him of what she has to do
"It's our daughter, if it were me i would have done anything" Justin says to her.
Ophelia and Justin continue to stare out of the car window at Kathryn and smile.
"I'm going to sell my soul" Ophelia pipes up knowing it is the only way she can continue their plan
"You can't sell your soul to them, are you insane. You could turn on our daughter, they could make you turn on her and actually kill her" Justin yells in disapproval of the idea
"Not to them"Ophelia replies and looks at Justin "To you"
"Why would you do that?" Justin asks her not understanding
"So that if i ever lose sight on what i have to do you only have to say the words to remind me and me not having my soul will make me feel less guilty about killing them all" Ophelia explains to him
"You're a witch Ophelia not a vampire. Would it even work?" Justin reminds her that she is not like him and it wouldn't be as easy.
"I made a spell that will extract my soul from my body" Ophelia fills him in, Justin turns around and looks at her concerned "Now don't start worrying about me now"
"You know i always worried about you Ophelia, you were my best friend" Justin reminds her of how much he valued their friendship
" And you were mine" Ophelia agrees with him "send Sarah my love, you two really were meant for each other even if for a long time you didn't see yourself as worthy of love"
Justin looks at Ophelia and watches her get out the car and walk away, he looks back into the park at Kathryn. He thought about everything he lost when Ophelia gave birth, he lost his daughter, he lost his best friend Ophelia who had his back the whole time at the Academy and he lost the love of his life Sarah because he was so caught up on Kathryn.
Present- 7.28am
Jesse's Chambers-
A shimmering glow rushes through the mirror that contains Jesse's dad stuart along with a shimmering glow all around the school.
"Hello" Stewart calls out finding that something strange is going on
" Stuart" Melissa ( Jesse's mum) calls out to him in ghost form as she stands in front of the mirror
"Melissa, what is going on?" Stuart asks her confused
"I have no idea" Melissa replies looking at the love of her life.
Stuart reaches out his hand and touches the glass which disappears in front of him allowing his hand through to the other side. He climbs out of the mirror no longer being trapped in side and looks at Melissa confused.
"What just happened?" Stuart asks looking at Melissa who is no longer afraid of him
"It would appear you are no longer trapped" Melissa answers him not sure how it is possible.
"Jesse?" Stuart says wondering if Jesse let him free
"I don't believe so" Melissa shakes her head no "We should go"
"I need to find Kathryn" Stuart pipes up as he runs through the door and out into the hallway where other ghosts have appeared looking confused as they call out to their loved one.
"Stuart" Melissa calls out to him
"We have to tell her" Stuart tells her not willing to leave without speaking to Kathryn and pops his head in every door he sees to check which room is hers.
Justin's Office- 7.28am
Justin is working away at his desk when he a shimmering golden glow come down on the school and shine through the windows and mirrors in his office, he looks around confused and places his pen down on his folder and walks over to the window and takes a look outside of it, he doesn't see anything unusual so turns around to head back to his desk when he seems them both standing there, Alexandra ( his mother) has her hands up to her mouth looking at him in shock while Fletcher ( his father) stands with a smile on his face. Justin doesn't understand what is going on and shakes it off as if he is just sleep deprived and stressed. He closes his eyes and rubs them thinking when he re-opens them they will be gone but when he opens his eyes they are still stood there.
"Well aren't you going to say hello" Alexandra says to Justin with a smile
"What's going on?" Justin instantly gets straight to the point realises that it can't be good if they are stood in front of him
"We don't know, we were partying it up in the skies then all of a sudden we were stood here in front of you" fletcher explains what he remembers
"Kathryn" Justin gasps and runs out the room immediately thinking it is a ploy to kill her
As Justin approaches Kathryn's Chamber avoiding all the other ghosts he hears a scream from inside and bangs on the door, he takes the keys out of his pocket and unlocks it. When he enters he sees Kathryn at the top of her bed with a gripped hold of a lamp in her hand as Catherine and Seth are stood to the left of her bed while Stuart and Melissa are stood at the very end of the bed all trying to talk to her.
"dad" kathryn calls out to him needing answers.
Justin walks into the room and Alexandra and Fletcher follow him and the door closes behind them
"I have no idea what is going on"Justin reveals to her
"Kathryn you must know" Stuart rambles on "You must know"
"I woke up and they were standing over me like a dead corpse" Kathryn tells him feeling freaked out.
"You have to know, you have to" Stuart continues "we have to tell her"
"What must she know?" Alexandra asks him having actually listened to what he was saying
"Jesse, my son. Our son, he is working with evil. He sold his soul and is going to hurt you" Stuart attempts to warn them
"I know about him working with Ophelia to protect me" kathryn brushes it off
"He has lost sight of who he is" Stuart goes on to say
"Yes Jesse is working with her to protect you but he isn't in control. They are changing the way he thinks, they are brainwashing him" Melissa interveins
"We had a feeling this might happen"Justin reminds Kathryn of what she already knows
"Don't be fooled by him, always stay aware" Stuart advices her on what to do if she ever sees Jesse again.
"How do i know i can believe you, last i heard you beat him every day and you were too scared to stand up to your husband" Kathryn asks them wondering if she is being fooled or not
" That was a good eighteen years ago, we have changed since them" Melissa assures them that they mean no harm
"He had us locked in his room, me locked in a mirror for all existence for my crimes." Stuart shares what has happened to them
"How exactly did you get out then?" kathryn questions them feeling suspicious
"Kathryn wait a minute" Justin says having observed them. "If all of this is true how did you get out?"
"We don't know, one minute i was trapped and the next there was a glow and i got out" Stuart answers him
"When we left Jesse's room we saw all these other ghosts roaming the halls looking for their loved one" Melissa answers him
"We can agree with them on this, one minute we were with the rest of our family and the next we were in kathryn's room." Catherine agrees with what they are talking about
"I'm not trying to be rude but who the hell are you all?" Seth questions them confused looking around
"Seth i am Justin, Kathryn's Biological father" Justin introduces himself, Alexandra and Fletcher look at each other with a smile and hold hands.
" I should have figured, you both look so alike" Seth scoffs still angry over the factor that Kathryn isn't biologically his.
"And the rest of you?" Seth questions looking at the other ghosts.
"We are Kathryn's grandparents and Justin's Parents. I'm Fletcher and this is my wife Alexandra" Fletcher introduces them to Seth and Catherine.
Alexandra and Catherine gives each other friendly and warm smiles while Fletcher and Seth both give each other a distrustful stare
"And we are your daughters? Kathryn's ex boyfriend's parents" Melissa explains
"Well do you mind if we have a moment alone with Kathryn?" Seth asks in a bitter way wanting them all gone
"Unfortunately that won't be happening" Justin refuses them privacy to which Seth glares at him in anger
"And why is that?" Seth replies angry
"You all showed up out of nowhere and you expect me to leave you alone with my daughter, not a chance in hell "Justin continues to refuses shaking his head.
Melissa and Stuart hasty leave the room sensing the tension in the air.
"So you decided to finally show up in her life and now you think you call all the shots. No that's not how this is going to work" Seth spits at him
"Seth" Catherine shouts at her husband in disgust
"He is as much of my father as you are. You may have raised me but Justin is my father" Kathryn snaps in anger at the way they are all talking to each other
"How about we all calm down and talk to each other like respectful adults?" Alexandra suggests to them all to which Kathryn rubs her head.
"No offence to you all as it's great to see you but i think we need to find out who brought you back and why" Kathryn suggests looking at Justin not finding it a coincidence that all these ghosts suddenly appear on the same day at the same time.
"More like you are going to classes and i will figure it out" Justin rephrases her
"Seriously dad, Let me help you" Kathryn rolls his eyes only wanting to help
"I appreciate you trying to and wanting to help but i need to know you are safe" Justin refuses her help
"ugh, fine. But don't expect me to be happy about it" Kathryn replies to him
History Lesson-10.03am
Kathryn is sat at her desk with her earphones in her ears and phone in hand. She glances at the door and sees all the ghosts of students roaming the halls. Kathryn is wearing a grey above knee skirt that has a zip all the way down the front of the skirt with a belt around the waist, there is some silver studs that goes all down the side of the sip and belt. She has on a teal long sleeved jumper that comes up at the front showing off a bit of her stomach but not too much, she has grey ankle boxed heel boots on her feet and her hair is down in a slight wave and she is using a teal crossbody bag to hold her belonging inside. Zackery walks into the classroom with Danny and goes over and gives Kathryn a friendly hug from behind.
"Care to share where you were this morning?" Zackery asks her before sitting down at his chair.
"Dealing with a situation with my father" Kathryn answers him and sighs
" Pre Warning everyone appears to be on edge" Danny warns her of what to expect when the others come in.
"Okay" Kathryn replies waiting for a reason, She looks back over to the door and watches Dallas walk in. She instantly looks away from him as the pair are still frosty with each other since they argued about Kathryn's willingness to die for everyone.
"Your boy toy is looking for you" Dallas tells her before sitting down which makes Kathryn lift her head and look at him with a slight anger in her eyes over the words he used.
"First of all he isn't my boy toy and second of all thanks but i already gathered that by the six missed calls" Kathryn replies with a bitterness in her voice
"I was trying to do the nice thing by telling you but if you are just going to act like that then i won't bother doing it again" Dallas says the both of them getted heated with each other
"It's not that i don't appreciate you telling me because i do it's just the way you went about it" Kathryn snips at him getting defensive
" So you're telling me you actually have romantic feelings for him and if he asked you to be his girlfriend right this second you would say yes" Dallas mentions to her and watches her body movement.
"It's none of your goddamn business what happens between me and him"Kathryn snaps at him getting annoyed
"fine but perhaps you should actually tell people you aren't going to show up for breakfast so they don't think you are lying in some corridor dead" Dallas advices her trying to hide the fact that he still cares about her.
"Is this really what's going on? You're still pissed at me because i said i would rather die saving everyone than be selfish" Kathryn brings up an old argument
"No i didn't say that, all i said was it would be nice to know you haven't offed yourself yet" Dallas repeats his words dumbing them down for her to understand.
"Trust me you'll be the first to know" Kathryn assures him "I'll come back as a ghost and say i finally fucking did it" but part of Kathryn didn't actually feel that way, although she did want Dallas to be one of the first people to know of her death she wouldn't seem so relieved about it. During nights in her bed since their argument Kathryn wondered what she would say to him before she died or after and after a lot of thinking she realised she didn't need a speech it would be simple "I'm sorry, I love you, I love you all". Those would be the true words she would say even if she didn't know in which way she meant it. She loved Dallas more than anything as a friend, he saved her life more than one can count and gave up a lot for her which she will be eternally grateful for.
"You know what my words will be "Thank god"" Dallas reveals to her lying to both himself and her, trying to make it seem like he hates her but that is the last thing he wants. He wants her to live more than anything and this is why they aren't talking because he refuses to let her put her life on the line for her family and friends because her living is far more important but in her eyes saving her family and friends is far more important than living in a world where none of them will be there.
"You two seriously need to chill out" Danny suggests to them both trying to defuse the situation. Kathryn looks away from Dallas then looks back at him with a slight sorrow and guilt in her eyes and he does the same.
Ella and Alice walk into the classroom with Wilson by their side as they talk about Wilson's boyfriend. The three of them get to their chair and throw their bags on the table and sit down.
"Anyone else wake up to their dead parents stood over them?" Kathryn questions her friends wondering if it was only her
"No cause all of ours is a alive?" Danny answers her shrugging his shoulders having no idea what she is on about
"Actually mines are dead" Ella corrects him, as she pulls her notepad and pen out of her bag. She is wearing a black leather above knee skirt with a pink lace strappy crop top with a pair of pink strappy peep toe high heels on her feet, her hair is down and to the side while her black leather jacket rests on the back of her chair.
"What i thought they were alive?" Alice says in shock as she looks at Ella having had no idea while wearing black high waist jeans, a green criss cross strappy cropped top with black lace heels on her feet and she places her curly hair into a ponytail to get it out of the way with.
"Nope they died years ago,someone crashes into them then they got a Stake to the heart" Ella shrugs her shoulder having it not bother her much anymore as it was a long time ago and she doesn't really remember them that much anymore.
"So did you ?" Zackery asks her wanting details if so
"No but when i got out of my shower i did find them in my room" Ella answers him
"Seriously?" Kathryn replies with a slight giggle
"Yep, good job i remembered a towel and didn't come out of the room naked that would have been awkward" Ella screws up her face thinking about it happening.
"Why exactly did our dead parents come back to life?" Wilson asks Kathryn thinking she might know why
"I have no idea but my father refused to let me help" Kathryn rolls her eyes
"He probably had a good reason" Dallas pipes up having been listening to the conversations
"Yeah like what?" Kathryn asks wanting a decent answer
"Perhaps he thought you might offer yourself up again" Dallas answers her with a shrug of the shoulders having expected it from her if things went wrong. Kathryn bites her lips knowing what he is saying is most likely right.
"What ever" Kathryn replies and turns to listen to what Danny and Ella are talking about.
"Doesn't look like the Professor is showing up?" Wilson suggests to them as he hasn't turned up yet
"Guess not" Ella replies finding it strange as the professor is normally in the class early.
"See you later then" Danny pipes up standing up off his seat to leave
"I think not, Sit down" Camila Aiken ( Ella's Mum) instructs him as she stands behind him, the group look round at her confused
"And who are you?" Danny asks her with a slight attitude in his voice
"mum, really?" Ella pipes up feeling embarrassed that she just popped up out of nowhere
"What i was having fun" Camila shrugs her shoulders not understanding the big problem.
"This is your mum" Zackery says with a smile on his face seeing the resemblance on them
"Yes and i know all about you Zackery and your ways" Camila replies with a raised eyebrow in disapproval
"Why do i feel like i'm about to get a lecture from my mum" Zackery pipes up while sinking down in his chair
"Feel free to give him one, I got one this morning" Ella encourages her mum to give it to Zackery
"I'll just let your mother do that for me" Camila smirks his way.
"What?" Zackery blurts out in fear that his mother could be around which makes Camila laugh
"Don't worry she isn't actually here" Camila shakes her head with a slight chuckle in her voice.
"Ella i love your mum" Kathryn smirks liking Camila teasing Zackery.
"I think you all need a good talking too i must admit" Camila shares with them all which makes them all look at each other concerned
"Is that so why?" Alice asks her confused
"You all appear to be missing a mother's touch" Camila answers her and looks around at the group
"I have a loving mother whom i should go see" Danny pipes up trying to find a reason to sneak away
"Not so fast" Camila shakes her head and puts her hand on his shoulder and pushes him back down on the chair.
Kathryn spots the classroom is empty apart from them and spots Catherine and Seth walk into the room followed by Ella's dad Lenard. Danny's mum and dad was walking in from behind and Wilson's mum Layla Hartell.
"What is this an intervention?" Zackery says looking at the parents stood around them
"Since mine aren't here and don't care about me, i'm leaving"Dallas pipes up looking around at all the parents and stands up.
Layla slams the door shut and locks it not allowing any of them to leave.
"Just because your mother or father isn't here doesn't mean you don't need a good talking too" Carrie tells him and pulls a seat over to the table making the children all squeeze their chairs beside each other and the parents on looking them.
"This is awkward" Kathryn pipes up feeling uncomfortable.
"You all need to hear some words and we won't tell you a thing about who brought us here until we get to say what needs to be said" Lenard shares with them not willing to negotiate.
"Get it over and done with then" Dallas tells them having seen it is clear they aren't leaving the room until the ghosts and Carrie and Jeffrey say so.
"Where to start?" Camila smirks then looks at Zackery "Him"
"Obviously you're parents are still alive but they can't be here so we will have a talk with you" Carrie pipes up to him giving a long hard stare.
"Zackery, You are such a lovely boy. you stick up for your friends in fact you would do anything for them but do you seriously need to go around and sleep with the whole school? It's really degrading and it isn't going to get you self respect from people" Camila chimes in on her opinion
"I did not and am not going to sleep with the whole school" Zackery sticks up for himself
"He's right, he hasn't slept with me or Alice" Kathryn pipes up agreeing with Zackery, Catherine gives Kathryn a glare to not get involved which makes Kathryn back off.
" I don't have too but it's fun" Zackery tells them shrugging it off
"Are you sure you're not just feeling alone and that is why you are doing it. Don't you just want to feel love from someone and have someone love you?" Carrie suggests to him what she thinks
"No because if you fall in love you only end up getting hurt" Zackery shakes his head
"Here here" Ella agrees with him having always kept herself closed off to the idea of dating.
" There is nothing wrong with sleeping around" Dallas replies rolling his eyes at them
"No it just makes you look like a man whore who ends up having a reputation" Jeffrey reminds them of how it looks from an outsiders view which makes Alice scoff as she has always believed it.
"Is this really what i am getting a lecture on because i like to have sex" Zackery says not seeing anything wrong with it.
"Clearly you don't see a problem" Layla says shaking her head at him but Zackery did see the problem, he knew he was using sex so that he didn't feel so alone but when all was said and done and he was alone in his bed he felt it. When he was alone in his room all the feelings came back and he didn't like it but as soon as he left the room he pretended like none of those feelings existed.
"And that is the problem, none of you can see your problems. You all think everything is okay, that sleeping around, pushing people out of your life, willing to die for everyone isn't a problem but it is. Everyone here apart from Ella has a living parent or parents and none of you seem to care meanwhile there is an eleven year old girl who just brought back everyone in this schools parents because she misses her dad. She wishes she could have a chance to spend time with her dad and she can't get it while you lot are swandering every chance you get. Zackery your parents want you to come home and spend time with them like you used to, they want you around but you never call or text them" Carrie shouts at them which makes Zackery scoff at the sound of her words
"You don't know what our relationships with our parents are like so don't pretend like you do" Dallas snaps at them all
"Dallas i know you, I watched you grow into this person. You hate your mum feeling betrayed by her but you don't know how much pain she felt after you died" Carrie mentions to him
"She didn't care, she moved away five days after my funeral" Dallas shouts at her
"Because the heartbreak was killing her, she couldn't bare to hear the stories in the streets or the looks as she walked down the street and she couldn't live in a house that reminded her of you. She loved you more than anything and it broke her heart when you died. We would watch her pray to have you back in her life every night before bed then she would cry herself to sleep" Carrie confesses to him which shocks Dallas. If it was anyone else he wouldn't believe what he was hearing but he trusts Carrie and Jeffrey.
"I'm dead to her now, none of that matters" Dallas replies not willing to make it seem like everything is okay now that he knows she did love him.
"Stop pushing people you love out of your life, you have to trust people. These guys are your family and ask yourself how many of them actually know about your past" Jeffrey joins the conversation which makes Kathryn look at Dallas knowing she is the only one he talks to about it or the only one he used to talk to about it.
Dallas keeps his eyes stern on Carrie and Jeffrey not giving anything away.
"Aren't people entitled to secrets?" kathryn asks them knowing this is uncomfortable for him
"Yes but can any of you truly say you know who Dallas Bradshaw is?" Carrie asks them which gets them all thinking, the others stay silent knowing that even through they have known Dallas for a good few years now they don't know much about him
"Yes i do, I believe i truly know who Dallas is. He is a kind person who has a loving and protective heart. He may come across as cold but you know he is anything but that and if he trust you and loves you then he would do anything for you. He can be dark and he has probably killed more people than the amount of students in this school. People might think he is a dick who sleeps around but there is more to him than that but you already know that so why mention it?" Kathryn answers her truthfully speaking from the heart which shocks Dallas.
"Isn't it obvious?" Carrie replies with a smirk to which Kathryn clicks on thinking about everything they have said.
"Kathryn you care too much about these people, you know it is going to get you killed" Catherine pipes up to her to which Kathryn nods her head
"Yes" Kathryn replies, Alice looks over to Kathryn "I know"
"Your whole life you cared too much about people and you would do anything for them. You used to give up your school lunches to give to the kid who didn't have anything to eat. You used to fight anyone who was being a bully to someone who was smaller or younger than them" Catherine begins to say
"It's the right thing to do" Kathryn shrugs her shoulders at it
"You tried to convince Renee and Amy to go to the police, to tell your parents about what happened at the party. You used to go to Renee's grave every week and give her fresh flowers then drink away your sorrows. You used to take the bottle of drink away from the homeless man at the park every time you hung out with him when he was getting too drunk not because you wanted it for yourself but because you didn't want him getting hurt and having too much. You woke up and gave Amy cpr trying to wake her up after realising she was dead and gave her mouth to mouth. You begged god to kill you and bring back her every night, you then joined groups and tried to get people off of drugs and alcohol to stop them going through what you did." Layla begins to say and every word is like a dagger in Kathryn's heart " You continue to tell people to kill you and to hurt you instead of hurting your family and friends because you don't want them to get hurt so you would rather it would be you. Isn't that the whole reason you and Dallas are fighting because he asked you for once in your life to be selfish and not offer up your life for everyone and you said no because you didn't want to sit on by and watch the people you love die... You walked into enemies territory because they attacked my son and it almost got you killed... again. You are so afraid to let your father in and love him or let him love you because you don't want him to end up like your other parents " Layla points out her selflessness.
"What are you trying to do?" Kathryn asks thinking about everything that has happened over the few years
"Trying to show you that one of these days you trying to be selfless and loving will get you killed and that one day they could use your friends as a trap to get to you"Seth points out to her
"I would rather die then all of them"Kathryn admits to them
"You would rather your dad lose you again, for your friends to lose you. If Amy and Renee was here what would they say too you?" Camila questions her which makes Kathryn feel awkward
"Well they aren't here are they" Kathryn snaps at them angry
"Do you think they would be disgusted in you that you are just giving up" Camila goes on to say
"Enough, you back off her now" Dallas yells at them and gets up off his chair looking at them angry which makes the parents smirk.
"The hell are you doing?" Zackery shouts at the parents angry at how low they are getting.
"Stop putting your life on the line every time they screw up because this will keep happening" Catherine advices her daughter.
Ella stands up and looks at her parents "I'm guessing you are all here to point out what is wrong with us" The parents give each other quick glances"Let me guess you are disappointed at how i sleep around. Disappointed that i never let anyone into my heart and that i need to stop being such a screw up. I already know so don't even try and play the parent card on me" She carries on with a bitterness not wanting to hear how much she has been a disappointment by the two people she loves and hasn't seen in years.
"Don't settle for someone you don't love or doesn't love you" Camila replies to her shrugging her shoulders not having anything else to say.
"Yeah because i have great experience when it comes to love, i practically grew up with no love" Ella replies with a glare to her mum "The only love i remember growing up is from these guys and that is one messed up love that i don't understand"
"So your advice to Zackery was to stop being a fuck boy and that he needs to actually go home and visit his family because they do miss him yet they don't bother to come see him or call him. Your advice to Dallas was too stop pushing people he loves away and to actually let people into his life because only one of his friends believes they really know him and that his mum does actually loves him and is heart broken and that he needs to get back in touch with her again even though she thinks he is dead. Your advice to Kathryn was that she should stop caring about everyone because we will get her killed and that she needs to be open and honest with Justin and let him into her heart instead of pushing him away because she is afraid he will die like her other parents. Your advice to Ella was don't settle for someone you don't love or doesn't love you which implies that either she doesn't love Jai or Jai doesn't love her which isn't exactly her fault when she doesn't actually know what love is. So what is your lovely advice for me and Danny?" Alice questions them as she summarises what has been said
"Oh Alice, some things aren't made out as what they look like, you have to look beyond what you see. As for your family they miss you more than anything in the world and they just want to see you, to hear your voice, to have one more talk with you. Your sister Montana misses you like crazy to the point where some days she rambles on that you are still alive" Layla shares with her
"So you want me to put them in danger by visiting them? that's a great plan" Alice rolls her eyes at the parents
"I think they are just saying your family misses you and they would love to see you because let's face it they probably do. Everyone's family probably misses them" Danny suggests to the others
"Let's just wait and see what they say to you" Alice glares at him annoyed
"Fine" Danny shrugs his shoulders
"Danny you have to remember you have family and that you aren't as alone as you think you are. Yes we weren't in your life for most of it but that wasn't our fault and you should be grateful that your two friends came and got us" Jeffrey advices him having seen how Danny is a bit angry towards them
"I can't help the fact i'm angry that you guys left me by myself and i got shipped off her when i died thinking that you both and Alisha were dead. You couldn't even send a letter or call so yes i apologise for being so angry for you not being around" Danny replies to him with his opinion
"Yeah we left but we didn't exactly have a choice and we tried getting back so many times but we couldn't and it's not like we didn't want too" Carrie snaps at him
" Everyone needs to calm down" Wilson pipes up to them
" What is your intentions here?" Ella questions them annoyed at how they have all been insulted even if it wasn't meant.
" We are trying to work out your weaknesses, your strengths. You are all each other's weaknesses, you all love each other too much. How do you expect to win a war when as soon as someone says something harsh against each other you automatically go defensive and go to attack them." Carrie reveals to them as she looks at them
"If one of my friends were hurting of course i'd automatically help them" Kathryn replies shaking her head at them
"Let's look at it this way, if Angelica wanted to hurt Kathryn they would take Dallas and torture him, if they wanted to hurt Dallas they would take Kathryn. If Angelica or someone else wanted to hurt Ella the first person at her side is Zackery and if someone wanted to hurt Zackery they would go after Ella and the same goes for Danny and Alice. It is so obvious how much you all care for each other that it makes you that more vulnerable. They won't stop until they get what they want and if that means they pick away at your weaknesses that is what they will do. They have been watching you for years do you think they haven't got a game going on, you are all in the centre of it" Seth points out to them.
Corridor-
Kathryn races down the corridor with Ella by her side trying to find her father after finding out An eleven year old girl Maria brought back all the parents. The pair left their bags in the classroom after finally being let out after an hour of being stuck in there. As they are running they spot Justin.
"dad" Kathryn shouts out to him as she avoids the ghosts in the corridor
"Master VanderVall" Ella shoutsa the exact same time which grabs his attention.
Justin hears his name being called and turns around and sees the two girls running towards him.
"What's wrong?" Justin asks instantly stopping in his tracks
"We found out who did it" Ella blurts out to him as Kathryn catches her breath
"I told you to go to class and stay out of it"Justin reminds Kathryn angry
"I went to class, the professor didn't show up instead it was an intervention from the ghost parents about how Angelica is going to exploit our weaknesses etc and they knew all along" Kathryn explains to him what happened
"What do you mean they knew all along?" Justin asks her confused
" Eleven year old Maria Karakova , her dad died and she wanted to bring him back but obviously she is extremely powerful and didn't know what was going to happen" Ella explains what they know
"Do you know where she is ?" Justin asks them as ghosts continue to pass them by
"The basement" kathryn replies to which Justin promptly makes his way there to which the two girls follow him
The three of the run through the corridors avoiding ghosts, vampires, werewolves and witches as they make their way to the basement. As they get into the basement they run straight past the underground fight club that is currently taking place and over to the furthest part of the basement where they find Maria hunched in a corner with the ghost of her father.
"Maria Karakova?" Justin asks as they approach now walking to not scare her
"Yes" Maria answers nodding her head
"I'm Master VanderVall and this is my daughter Kathryn VanderVall and one of her friends Ella Aiken, we would like a word with you" Justin introduces himself to her and her father
"Okay"Maria nods her head sheepish knowing what is coming.
Kathryn kneels down in front of her to make it known it is safe and not to feel threatened.
"Did you bring back your dad in the form of a ghost?" Kathryn questions her with a friendly smile on her face
"Yes" Maria answers her gently "Am i in trouble?"
"It's okay Maria, we just want to have a word with you about it" Justin assures her
"Why?" Maria asks confused
" You see when you brought your dad back into ghost form you also brought back every student and professors parents who are dead which isn't a good thing" Justin begins to explain
"I never meant to" Maria tells him shaking her head in shock "I really never meant to"
"It's okay" Ella says as she too kneels down beside her
"We need to know the spell you used so that we can reverse it and put everyone back in their rightful place" Justin reveals to her
"But i don't want my dad to leave" Maria tells them shaking her head
"Maria, when someone dies they are given the choice if they want to become a ghost and stick around on earth or if they want to go to heaven. Your father choose to go to heaven, he may have thought he had all the peace and love he needed but he knew that if he left you that you would be okay and because he chose to go to heaven it means he doesn't belong here. Yes he loves you and he would want to be with you but he doesn't belong here, he belongs with his mum and dad and his grandparents" Kathryn explains to her in the best way she knows how
"I just wanted to see him again, I missed him so much" Maria starts crying in pain from the loss.
Kathryn sits beside Maria and wraps her arm around her and pulls her into her side hugging her while using her hand to rub up and down Maria's arm to comfort her.
"It's okay baby, I love you but they are right" Palmer Vance agrees with what they are saying knowing that as much as he loves his daughter he no longer belongs on the earth
"I'm so sorry, i never meant any of this" Maria apologises in guilty not having realised what she had done
"It's okay" Kathryn assures her while keeping a hold of Maria comforting her.
"I love you so much dad" Maria looks at her father and smiles at him. She closes her eyes and lifts the spell. Maria opens her eyes and they watch Palmer fade away into a shimmer glow and rise through the roof up to the sky back where he belongs.
Fletcher and Alexandra pop up by Justin's side and put their hands on his shoulder. He turns around and looks at them knowing as much as he hates it they have to say goodbye.
"We are so proud of everything you have done, You have come along way and i am proud of you son" Fletcher tells him and gives him a hug
"It is all going to work out, we love you more than anything. Take care of her" Alexandra tells him before giving him a hug and a kiss on the forehead.
Justin watches his parents fade away and travel back to heaven and then looks at Kathryn and Ella who are comforting Maria who is in floods of tears having had to say goodbye to her father yet again.
Back in the History Class room Dallas, Zackery, Danny, Alice,, Wilson, Carrie and Jeffrey watch as the ghosts Catherine, Seth , Layla, Camila and Lenard begin to disappear.
"Wilson baby, i love you so much, never forget it" Layla tells him before she disappears into a shimmer glow and rises through the roof of the school.
"Tell our baby girl we love her" Seth says to them knowing he won't be able to say the words himself to which Dallas gives him a head nod making it his mission to make sure she knows.
"Tell Ella we are sorry for not being around and we love her" Camila asks of them before taking a hold of her husband's hand and they disappear along with all the other ghosts.
As much as it was a relief that they managed to reverse the spell it was also an ache in their hearts because it meant they had to say goodbye to the people they love, they had to say goodbye to their mums and dads and this time was so much harder because they know there is a way that they can have them around again but it would be wrong to force them to stay in a world they no longer belong in. Saying goodbye broke their hearts all over again.
