VanderVall Academy-Wednesday 28th February, 2018- 8.26am
Corridors-
Justin is walking through the corridors with three of his best friends from childhood Bobby Fisher, Rufus Harding and Lewis Bradshaws.
"God i haven't missed this place one bit" Bobby pipes up as he looks around the corridors that are a little updated and yet still the same.
"Oh the times we had here"Lewis smirks to the boys thinking back on the times they had together and all the mischief they all got up too.
" You mean all the girls you guys hooked up with" Rufus rephrases them
"Hold on a minute, I wasn't as bad as you guys" Justin pipes up shaking his head at them
"Nah you just got a girl pregnant and fell in love with someone who wasn't the girl who was pregnant" Lewis reminds him with a smile
"Fair point but you boys did have many one night stands along the way" Justin says not denying what he did.
"Tooshay"Bobby replies nodding his head at him
"How is that daughter of yours?" Lewis asks him talking about Kathryn having never met her apart from when she was a baby.
"She is well, She doesn't like doing what she is told and continues to put herself out on the line" Justin answers to his friends rolling his eyes at how alike she is too him
"Like father like daughter"Rufus lets out a laugh at the idea.
"Hey when you have a kid you hope they don't get your mischievousness and rebelness" Justin tells the boys having always being worried about what Kathryn could be up too
"Come on it can't be that bad" Bobby says to him in disbelief
"She doesn't find trouble, trouble finds her. Literally between getting shipped off and attacked every now and then to trying to drown herself to Ophelia trying to kill her where she really did nearly die to her boyfriend selling his soul, breaking her heart, killing a professor, drowning her every day. To Ophelia still trying to do god knows what then someone cast a spell on the school to forgot the person they loved, someone let a bunch on poisonous snakes loose, her going on a mission to save one of her friends parents along with making a deal with Alfonso and the other day Ophelia and her follows stole all our blood supply and Kathryn was willing to drain herself of blood and dish it out." Justin shares with them everything that has been going on
"It could be worse"Lewis pipes up trying to see light in it "She could just be dead" Lewis answers him with a shoulder shrug
"That's what i'm worried about. One of her friends Alice can sense death and she can sense Kathryn is going to die" Justin confesses to his friends not sure what to do anymore as they approach his office
"What if we just kill Ophelia and get it over and done with?"Rufus suggests to him not knowing all the details
" It's not that easy" Justin begins to say as he opens the office door "Let's talk".
The boys go into Justin's office and he tells him everything he has found out over the years and tells them he believes there is something bigger going on than what appears.
Great Hall- 9.48am
Kathryn is sat at the table with Dallas on her right side and Zackery on her left, Alice and Danny are sitting together in front of them with Ella at Danny's left side. Kathryn is wearing High waist tight red trousers that is flowy at the bottom and an off the shoulder white lace top, she wore white peep toe heels on her feet and her hair was down in a loose kind of curl with her hair to one side. Ella is wearing a leopard print boob tube top and a matching floaty skirt with brown strappy heels on her feet,her hair is in box braids and in a high ponytail. Alice is wearing a light brown above knee slightly tight skirt with a orange tartan tank cropped top that had 4 black buttons coming down the left side with light brown ankle boot on her feet and her hair in tight curls which was in a messy bun with some hair coming down from it. Kathryn's hand is on Dallas lap and he looks round to her with a small smile on his face to which she looks up and grins at him.
"Can you guys please take all your love and affection some place else"Zackery pipes up to them feeling jealous
"Oh come on Zackery you would do the same" Kathryn replies to his knowing what like he is by now
"Yeah yeah whatever" Zackery responds and takes a drink from his glance
"Why don't you go find Saddie, I'm sure she will be wanting some love and affection" Ella suggest to him as she looks around the hall to find her
"Me and her just didn't work together, I don't know what it was but it just wasn't happening" Zackery tells the group shaking his head having practically forgotten all about her
"That's a shame i really liked her" Alice tells him thinking that she would have been a good fit to the group even though she is a bit quiet and reserved.
Danny spots Kathryn looking down at the Teachers table looking confused.
"What you looking at?"Danny asks her
" My dad he's talking to some guys" Kathryn answers feeling confused as she doesn't know who they are.
"You could just go over and ask him" Dallas points out to her not seeing any harm in it
"Yeah i think i will" Kathryn nods her head, she picks up her folders which has her keys and phone safely stored inside and stands up. "I'll see you later" She tells Dallas and gives him a kiss on the lips.
"That you will"Dallas responds with a smirk and watches her walk over to her father.
Kathryn walks over to her father to which he looks at her with a smile and stands up too greet her.
"Hi darling"Justin says with a smile on his face
"Good morning dad" Kathryn replies to him
"Everything alright?" Justin asks her afraid that something might be wrong
"Yeah, i was just coming over to make sure you are still alright with me, Ella and Alice going away to Miami for spring break" Kathryn answers half lying to him, part of her did want to know if he was still okay with it before she started packing and the other part of her wanted to know who the three guys were.
"As long as you take the boys and bodyguards with you then yes i am still okay with it" Justin shares with her
"Thank you, thank you, thank you" Kathryn replies feeling grateful that he said yes and that she is actually getting to go.
"I want you to meet my childhood friends"Justin pipes up and looks over to the boys.
"Really?" Kathryn grins at him to which he shakes his head at her having known her intentions.
"Bobby, Rufus, Lewis, this is my daughter Kathryn" Justin introduces them
"Good morning boys, pleasure to meet you" Kathryn says holding out her hand for them to shake
"You are far more kinder than i expected" Rufus pipes up as he shakes her hand
"More beautiful than i remembered" Bobby tells her with a smile and shakes her hand
"You don't seem any bit like your father" Lewis says to her and shakes her hand with a smile
"Oh I'm just doing my duty as a VanderVall woman, being pleasant and welcoming" Kathryn smiles to them and puts her hand back down to her side "What exactly has my father told you about me?"
"That you are a little rebel" Lewis raises his eyebrow
"Only when i need to be" Kathryn smirks to them which makes them laugh.
"I think we are going to get along like a house on fire" Bobby smiles at her seeing a friend in her
"You have to tell me all about my father and the things you guys used to get up too" Kathryn pipes up trying to convince them to share stories about Justin
"done deal" Rufus nods his head in agreement liking the idea.
"Why don't we go talk someone more private" Lewis suggests to them
"You mean somewhere where i'm not" Justin corrects them with a raised eyebrow
"Exactly" Bobby nods his head and stands up off his chair.
Bobby, Rufus and Lewis walk through the great hall with Kathryn in between them and to the restricted rooms in the school allowing them complete privacy.
Restricted Room 309-
Kathryn is sat on one of the table desks with her arms and legs crossed as she looks at Bobby, Rufus and Lewis who are all sat at different points around the room.
"What was he like when he was young?" Kathryn asks them wanting to know more about her father from a different point of view
"Hasn't he told you?" Rufus asks her confused
"He's told me somethings about the fight club, mum, coming up to the academy, some of Ophelia being pregnant and Sarah"Kathryn answers them wanting to know more, wanting to talk to someone about her mum and dad without having a painful ache in their heart or pain on their face.
" We can tell you anything you want to know kiddo" Bobby agrees to tell her anything she wants to hear
"I don't know what i want to know" Kathryn tells them unsure where to start
"How about what you need to know" Lewis suggests to her thinking of a few memories
"Like what?" Kathryn asks them not knowing what she could possibly need to know about her father's past.
Flashback- Ophelia's First Baby scan 1998
Ophelia is laying on a hospital bed her jumper lifted to show her stomach and her jeans button opened. Justin is stood by her side when Dr Pete West comes walking into the room as he puts a pair of gloves on.
"Good evening" Dr P West says to the pair as he walks over.
"Hello Doctor" Justin greets him with a warm smile on his face
"How are you today Ophelia?" Dr P West asks her feeling concerned about her health
"I'm good doctor" Ophelia answers him with a head nod
"Let's see how your little one is doing shall we" Dr P West pipes up as he picks up the gel and rubs it on her stomach. "If you look at the screen in a moment you will see your little girl"
Justin and Ophelia both look at the screen and they soon hear the sound of the babies heart beat. Tears start to form on Justin's eyes as he looks at the screen knowing that the baby inside of Ophelia's body was his. All of his and he couldn't feel prouder.
"That's our baby" Justin says with a grin on his face
"That's our baby" Ophelia repeats also grinning at the screen
"Wow" Justin pipes up mesmerised by the scan
Dr P West wipes the gel off her belly and puts the towels in the bin "I'll give you both a moment". He walks out of the room giving the pair some privacy
"We are having a baby" Justin mentions in excitement at the idea of his child running around at his feet.
"I don't think i've ever felt happier" Ophelia confesses to him truthfully. For her it felt like she finally had someone other than her mother who was going to love her unconditionally.
Present-
"Your father went to every single baby scan and held Ophelia's hand, he sat with her holding her hair when she had morning sickness. He would go out of town to get her whatever food she craved" Lewis shares with her to which brings a smile on Kathryns' face.
"People said he changed after i went away, What was he like?" Kathryn questions them wanting to know
"He went a little loopy, he did everything he possibly could to get you back. Some days he would forget to eat and drink. He would disappear out of town to find you and then when he did find you. He would linger around the house and sneaking in at night to see you, to hold you in his arms. He soon realised there was a threat against your life and he had to back off and vowed to find who was trying to hurt you" Bobby explains to her
"Ophelia?" Kathryn adds in
"No, not to start with. You were different, you are different. You have vampire genes and witch's gene and people wanted to use you as a weapon. To start with they both went out looking for who was trying to harm you but something happened along the way, something we don't know what happened. It changed them" Rufus informs her of what he knows
"What else do i need to know?"Kathryn questions them wanting to know more
"We have more time for that but i think your father would kill us if we keep you away from your classes all day"Bobby pipes up to her thinking about her responsibilities.
"Ugh, Sometimes i really hate going to class" Kathryn rolls her eyes hating the idea when she could spend the day talking to her dads friends.
"After lunch come find us" Lewis tells her with a nod head.
"Alright" Kathryn agrees and heads out of the room
"It's like she is a mini him"Lewis points out to the two boys with a smile on his face
"That she is"Bobby agrees
Kathryn walks down the corridors and bumps into Deklan Thompson who stops her in her tracks.
"You heading off to Vamp Lesson?" Deklan asks her considering she isn't in English class
"Yes i'm being forced too, what about you?" Kathryn asks him
"Wouldn't miss it for the world" Deklan answers her fit a flirty smirk.
As Kathryn and Deklan are talking Dallas walks past and spots them, Deklan puts his hand on her shoulder to which Dallas sees. Kathryn backs off and walks away not liking the idea of him touching her and heads towards her bedroom. Kathryn goes into her room and picks up her notes and binder for her vampire lesson and puts it all together on her bed, she thinks about going to the library while she waits for the class too start but decides against it. She looks around her room turning it upside down for her locket and remember that she must have left it in Dallas's room last night. She tidies up her room putting it all back in order and heads for Dallas's room who's is only a few doors down. She gets to his room and opens up the door to find Dallas in bed with someone else. She stands still frozen, in shock.
"Kathryn" Dallas exclaims in shock to see her stood there.
Kathryn begins to back up stumbling over his gym bag and chair but manages to get out of the room. Dallas throws on some trousers covering himself up and runs after her
"Please let me explain" Dallas begs as he chases after her.
Kathryn opens the closest door she can find and enters an empty room hoping to get away from him. He hopes the door to see her in floods of tears crying after seeing him in bed with another girl.
"Let me explain" Dallas tells her
"Let you explain What? That you couldn't just keep it in your pants" Kathryn snaps at him in anger and tries to stop herself from crying "You told me you didn't want me seeing other people. God i was so wrong to think that you would have done the same"
"Please Kathryn i'm sorry" Dallas tells her feeling shame and guilty for what he did.
"Give me one good reason why i shouldn't walk out that door" Kathryn tells him as she looks at the door ready to do a runner
"I thought you were screwing someone else" Dallas blurts out to her trying to hide his emotions
"You thought? You were the only guy" Kathryn assures him shaking her head at him
"I saw you in the corridor with Deklan, after you left he came up to me and told me you slept with him. He went on to describe your underwear and everything you did. I was sick to my stomach so i punched him and stormed off in anger and i know it was wrong what i did and i felt instant regret.
"He was lying Dallas" Kathryn says with a crack in her voice heart broken "Why the hell would i cheat on you" She continues on to say with the look of sorrow in her eyes.
He walks over to her and puts his hand gently on the side of her face to which she closes her eyes and tears come out them "I'm so sorry baby" He apologises hating himself.
Kathryn puts her hand on his chest stands there for a moment before taking her hand away and walking away from him. She walks out the room and closes the door and runs off completely avoiding her room. Dallas stands alone in the room and lets out a big breath of air "You stupid idiot" he says to himself feeling angry within himself.
Mcgill's Bar- 11.02am
Dallas sits at the bar with a whisky in hand, Alfonso sat beside him.
"Are you stupid" Alfonso starts off to say "The one time you let a girl in and a girl accepts you and you go and throw her away"
"I know it was stupid" Dallas admits what he did was wrong.
"Dude you got to stop moping around here, you have to tell her you're sorry" Alfonso advices him on what to do next
"It won't matter, I know Kathryn she won't be able to trust me after this." Dallas tells him "I was the one person she trusted and i blew it."
"In all the years i have known you, i have never seen you care so much about one person" Alfonso mentions to him because when ver it came to a girl other than Cheryl Dallas just tossed them off as if it was nothing. Like they were nothing but Kathryn was more than that, She was his girlfriend, the person he trusted , a best friend that he could relay on and even though they bickered all the time and got on each others nerves he couldn't wait to see her.
"I messed up and there is no way i can fix it. Not this time"Dallas admits to himself because if it is one thing he knows is that once you break Kathryn's trust it's near impossible to gain it back and at this rate he didn't think she would even talk to him again.
