Kathryn's Chambers-
Kathryn is sat at her dressing table in her pink silk pyjamas, applying the finishing touches to her make up when she hear a knock at her door, She puts her makeup brush in her brush pot and walks over to the door. She unlocks it and opens it up.
"Hey Girls" Kathryn greets them and let's them into the room
"You're not ready?" Ella points out shaking her head as she closes the door.
"I slept in" Kathryn replies with a smirk wishing she could have stayed in bed for an hour longer
"I'm not surprised" Alice understands as she sits down on her bed.
Kathryn grabs her clothes off her bed and runs into the bathroom to put them on. Ella sits down at the dressing table and looks at herself in the mirror.
"Do you mind if i use some of your highlighter?" Ella shouts to Kathryn
"Feel free" Kathryn shouts back.
Ella opens up the highlighter and applies some onto her nose. Ella's wearing a purple see through crop top with a black bralette underneath with a black skirt that has criss cross ties up the left side of the skirt. She has black large block heeled ankle boots on with gold studs up the outer part of the boots. Ella has Her hair is down in tight curls, the left side is pleated .
"I'm so glad we went shopping yesterday" Ella says to Alice as she admires her clothes in the dressing table mirror.
"So am i" Alice smiles while she wears a red leather crop top which has a belt across the stomach area and above to zips on both red and left side of the top with that she is wearing black faux leather pants, and red suede small block heeled ankle boots with silver studs and three straps at the front of the boot. She has two pleats at the top of her head with go into a loose bun on her head.
"It's nice seeing the old you" Ella notifies her happy to see her old friend back
"It was time for me to stop pretending i was someone else and put all the shirt jumpers in the bin" Alice agrees with Ella having always missed that crazy side of her.
Kathryn comes out the bathroom with her hair down in curls and a grey off shoulder top on which is tucked under a burgundy skirt with gold buttons coming down the front of the skirt, Greg suede block heeled boots and a gold 3 part necklace around her neck.
"You girls ready?" Kathryn walking over to the basket to put her dirty washing into.
"Girls we look amazing" Ella mentions as she looks at the girls outfits
"I think we should take a selfie" Alice suggests as she puts her goes onto her camera on her phone.
The three girls bundle together and take up close photos of each other and then photos in front of Kathryn's bedroom mirror.
"My dad best be happy i chose to still look respectable... for now" Kathryn laughs as she walks over to her bed and picks up her phone. she opens it up and sees a message from Jesse"Good morning baby"
"Good morning my love" Kathryn replies back to him feeling quite chirpy this morning.
The girls head out of Kathryns room with nothing but their phone and keys in their hands. The walks down the halls and see people giving them strange looks but laugh it off.
"Are you looking forward to seeing Danny's reaction?" Kathryn asks Alice trying to get a sense of where the pair are with each other.
"Yes and no, It's been a while since we were together" Alice answers feeling conflicted
"You guys still have feelings for each other it's so obvious" Ella points out to her
"I Guess we will see how things go now that we are actually talking to each other" Alice beamed while she walked through the hall feeling happy about herself again.
"What about Zackery?" Kathryn quizzes Ella wondering where things are with them
"Me and Zack both agreed that it was only a couple of times type of relationship. We will get with each other and if we are ever board then we will hit each other up" Ella smirked.
"Some times it's good to have a no string attached relationship" Kathryn encourages her friend feeling happy for her.
" I'm sure Jesse will be happy to see you dressed like this" Alice joined in the conversation
"He better be" Kathryn jokes with the girls
"How was your car ride yesterday home?" Ella interrogates her wanting to know details
"It wasn't really that bad, I think i was just a bit in shock" Kathryn shares with the girls as she thinks back to the car ride and her discussion with Dallas.
" I don't think Jesse likes the fact you two are training together" Alice mentions to her having sensed his jealousy when ever Dallas's name comes out Kathryn's mouth or when someone else mentions the pair.
"It's not like anything is going to happen, All we do is hit each other but i could see why he might not be happy with the idea "Kathryn acknowledges Jesse's jealousy as if it was the other way around she would be feeling the exact same way.
Ella's phone lights up with a notification, she looks at it and rolls her eyes. She opens up the message
" Danny has just messaged me "Hurry up and stop messing about. We are starving" " Ella quotes the message to the girls
"We are only a couple of minutes away" Alice grumbled at their impatience.
"We are right round the corner and secondly we never told you idiots to wait for us" Ella texts back to Danny.
Grand Hall-
Danny, Jesse, Zackery and Dallas are all sat at the table waiting for the girls to arrive
"Ella replied "We are right round the corner and secondly we never told you idiots to wait for us" Danny informs the boys
"Which one do you think slept in?" Jesse questions them knowing it had to be one of them.
"I say them all, wouldn't be surprised if they have just throw on clothes and came running" Zackery takes a guess as there is quite a lot of days where the girls can't be bothered to put in the effort.
"Never know they could surprise us"Dallas pipes up as he looks down at his phone.
The boys are all looking down on their phones when they realise everyone whispering to one another. They look up to see what is going on and see the girls coming down the hallway and over to them.
" Is that?" Danny begins to say as he looks at them in shock.
The girls sit on the opposite side of the table as the boys and put their keys and phone on the table.
"What? Cat caught your tongue?"Kathryn laughs and looks at the girls thinking what the hell is going on
"You look beautiful" Jesse compliments his girl "But what happened to your cheery clothes?"
"Thank you" Kathryn grins at him. "Oh you mean the ones i hated" She raises her eye brows knowing he disapproves of what she is wearing. She turns her head awkwardly and looks at Danny who can't seem to keep his eyes off Alice.
"Alice you look amazing" Danny blurts out at her in shock to see her dressed like she once used too.
"I thought it was time for the old me to come out" Alice shares with them all
"I'm just the normal me" Ella laughs not having really changed , They all start digging into their breakfast.
"So is this the real Kathryn?" Dallas asks her thinking back to their conversation in the car and looks her up and down.
"Only part of her, My wild side is yet to come out" Kathryn smirks at him and then looks at Jesse with the smirk still on her face.
"I'm thinking we all need to have a drink tonight and see the girls wild side, What do you think boys?" Danny suggests to them curious to see what Kathryn is really like
"I think that is a great idea" Jesse's agrees with him
"I'll come for a few" Kathryn replies to them not wanting to go overboard due to her past.
"I don't think i've ever seen you drink before" Jesse points out as her searches his mind for a memory.
" It's because i rarely drink" Kathryn cautioned about what she said to them not wanting to tell them about her past.
"It's alright girl, we will change that soon enough" Ella jokes to her
Kathryn Looks at her and smiles before looking down at the table trying to hide the fact she was trying to stop herself from getting emotional as she is never able to speak about it before expect when she was in shock or breaks down. Dallas spots that something wasn't right so changes the topic quickly.
"What did Justin say to you guys yesterday when you got to the school?" Dallas questions Danny, Zackery and the two girls.
" We fully speed through the gates thinking someone was following us, i had to apply the breaks pretty damn hard and Greg heard the commotion so came rushing out" Zackery answers telling part of the story
" He asked us what happened and we told him what went down, he ran for Justin and by time they got back outside you guys came rolling in" Alice finishes off explaining
"Maybe what you guys saw on the road earlier wasn't an accident" Dallas pipes up not knowing the truth.
"It could have been anything, we don't want to say it was something incase it wasn't" Kathryn chipped into the conversation
"What exactly did happen?" Jesse questions them confused since he wasn't there.
" Kathryn went back into the shop to grab her purse when she came out i presume she had her purse in her hand and put it into her bag then stepped onto the road and two cars come racing over trying to run her over, she would have had no chance of survival if she wasn't knocked out of the way" Ella explains to him the best she can.
Kathryn sits thinking back to it and screws up her face.
"It wasn't my purse" Kathryn mumbles as she remembers about the call
"What?" Jesse asks her not able to hear what she said.
Kathryn looks down at the teachers table then back to her friends as she goes over the memory in her head. She gets a memory in her head of the first phone call in the shop and then the second phone call. She looks up at Danny understanding what she forgot then looked at the other three boys with her mouth slightly opened in shock.
"Some one care to tell me what's going on?" Zackery asks looking around the table at the other.
Kathryn grabs her phone and her keys off the table and stand up, she sorts her skirt then walks over to her the teachers tesk completely zoning out on what everyone else was saying.
"Kathryn?" Jesse calls out at her
"Kathryn, what's wrong?" Justin stands up from his chair seeing the look on Kathryn's face
"Yesterday i was in shock so i could barely remember what happened"Kathryn says as her mind still searches for the memories.
"That's okay they will come back over time" Justin assures her
"No, I remember what happened" Kathryn states she looks her father inn the eye and looks back to her friends.
"Someone phoned me yesterday, the first time i was in the shop sugar and spice. I didn't really know what she said because my mind was so distracted but the second time i went back to one of the shops cause i forgot my purse and on my way out and i got this phone call from a man then he hung up. I threw my phone into my bag stepped onto the road and the cars came towards me" Kathryn begins to explain
Her friends stand up off their chairs after hearing what happened.
"What did they say?" Justin questions her
"The woman said "They're coming" and "Prepare yourself, they're coming" and the man said "They're coming for you" then" They're coming"" Kathryn reveals to her father
"Who's coming?" Justin asks her worried
"I don't know" Kathryn shakes her head having no idea.
"Try not worry about it, me and Greg will work on it okay" Justin attempts to make her feel better, He walks round the desk to her and hugs her.
"I promise it's going to be okay" Justin promises her not willing to let her out of her sight from this point on.
Kathryn walks away from her dad after the finish hugging, Him and Greg rush off to talk about what could be about to happen while Kathryn walks back over to her friends.
"Are you okay?" Alice asks her concerned about her friend
"Of course i am why wouldn't i be?" Kathryn lies to them as she places a fake smile on her face.
"You want to go chill in the courtyard?" Ella asks her trying to take her mind off everything
"Nah you guys go ahead, I'm going to go to the library and catch up on all this work Greg wants me to do" Kathryn regrets the idea and walks away from them.
Jesse goes chasing after her and catches up to her at the top of the door which is really easy for him with his super speed.
"Are you sure you're okay?" He puts his hand on her cheek
"Jesse I'm fine you don't need to worry about me." Kathryn lies to him her head feeling all over the place.
"I'll come with you to the library" Jesse declares worried about his girl
"Jesse I love you but please don't be one of those boyfriends who doesn't let me pee by myself" Kathryn expresses her feeling to him
"I'm just worried about you that's all" Jesse addresses how he feels to her.
"I know you are but look at me, I'm fine. No one can get me here and i'm not planning on leaving these ground any time soon." Kathryn reminds him of how safe she is in the school.
" I hate that i can't always be there to protect you" Jesse tells her feeling guilty
"That's why i'm getting training, So that i can protect myself" Kathryn reminds him
"But it's my job as your boyfriend to protect you"Jesse insists it's his job
"No as my boyfriend it's your job to love me and not hurt me"Kathryn clarifies to him as she takes a hold of his hand
"Just let me come with you" Jesse begs her feeling protective over her
"Jesse, I'm about to walk away now and you are going to walk back into that hall and sit with your friends, Those guys need you right now. The girls needs you guys shoulders to cry on because they are afraid and you being the good person you are should be there to help your friends" Kathryn insists to him
"We both know they're not my friends" Jesse replies shaking his head
"Well maybe it's about time you put any differences you have with some of them to the side and start being their friends" Kathryn advices him as she begins walking away taking her hand out of his. She turns her back and walks through the halls.
Jesse walks back into the great hall and over to the group, He sits back down with them.
"I was half expecting you to run after Kathryn" Ella states shocked that he returned
"Yeah well she told me it was about time i put my differences aside with you people because clearly you are Kathryn's best friends and i'm going to have to get along with you one way or another" Jesse shares with them the reason he came back
" Apart of me is still going to always hate you no matter what" Ella tells him not willing to forgive him for the past.
"I don't have to like you people, i just have to get along with you"Jesse says to them all, he looks over to Dallas with a slight glare
"I just don't get your problem with me, I get Ella hating you for you taking Marly's side and her nearly getting thrown out he school. Alice well i'm guessing you guys both went out when you first came here and clearly it didn't work so i get the awkwardness. Danny , Zackery and me we've done nothing wrong to you, said nothing and yet you look at us like we killed your cat" Dallas pipes up wanting to know what his problem is
"Just keep your hands off my girl arlight" Jesse address him with anger in his voice.
"I'm not after your girl, I'm doing my job. Protecting her and if you see it as anything other than that then you are blind my friend" Dallas disagrees with where Jesse is going.
"Dallas is right, they can barely stand to be in the same room as each other. Practically hate each other" Danny sticks up for Dallas.
"Do you think i don't see the way you look at her?" Jesse asks Dallas taken aback by his response.
"Dude the only way that i look at her is with rage, but then again least i don't look at her like a piece of meat" Dallas snaps back at him
"I don't look at her like that" Jesse argues with him annoyed
"The way you look at her, the way you stand so close enough allowing yourself to smell the blood that runs through her veins it drives you mad. I see the way you look at her trying to stop yourself by being tempted to just bite into her neck and compel her so she doesn't remember a thing. You crave her blood" Dallas corrects him knowing it's the truth, the others remain silent as they wait for a fight to break lose.
" Least i'm not pining for a girl i'll never have" Jesse mocks him thinking that Dallas has an interest in Kathryn
"Again, I'm not interested in Kathryn. If i wanted her don't you think i would have got her by now" Dallas provokes Jesse into a rage
"One of these days someone is going to come along and knock you of that high horse of yours" Jesse barks at him in anger
"Maybe while they are at it they can snap you back into reality" Dallas laughs at Jesse's pettiness
"I knew i could never be friends with scum like you" Jesse bickers at him as he stands up from the table and walks away.
"Well that was intense" Alice points out as she looks at the others round the table.
"You know if you're trying to get on her good side provoking him isn't the way to do it" Danny suggests to Dallas unsure about the damage he may have just caused.
"LIke i've said from the start i'm not interested in her in a romantic way or a one time way. I have a job and i will do my job, I can't help it if he can't keep his jealousy intact" Dallas tells the group rolling his eyes
"I love my girl but sometimes i think he's just not good for her" Ella addresses the conversation and where she stands.
" I'm just glad someone else brought up how he acts around her" Zackery responds to the group feeling creeped out by it.
"Personally if i was in a relationship and i was attacked previously by a mad woman, If i told the person i loved i was going out in town i would at least expect him to offer to come with me . You can't go on about how you always want to protect someone and when you get a chance to be with them and protect them you turn round and go sorry love can't today i have more important things to do" Alice spoke up
"That's so true though" Ella agrees with Alice
"If Kathryn wasn't going out with him i would even talk to him" Zackery went on to say.
" He hated you just for talking to her" Danny points out to them all
Library- 1.43am
Kathryn is sat in the far back of the library at one of the large tables with her folders and books spread out all over the place. She has one of her notepads in front of her and a black pen in her hand, She is looking at the book and copying down notes from the book that could be helpful. Her phone keeps buzzing from the notifications so she turns it over and looks at it.
"We've decided tonight we are going to have a little party in the courtyard" Ella texts her
"That sounds great, I need a good drink after everything that has happened" Kathryn texts her bad
"Are you alright? You acted so different at breakfast. Don't bother telling me you are fine because i don't believe it" Ella checks up on her worried about her
"I forgot what happened yesterday, with everything that happened i just couldn't remember all the details and then when we were all talking it just popped into my head and i didn't know what to do and it did make me realise how unprepared i am for this life" Kathryn messages her back telling her the truth.
She puts her phone back down on the table and begins to start studying again.
"It's not very often I see a student studying in a library on a saturday" Greg states shocked to see her walking over to the table, Kathryn lifts up her head and sees him.
"I needed a distraction from my mind so i thought this was the best place to go" Kathryn replies to him as greg places his books down on the table.
" You know you can come talk to me or any body in this school about what you have been through." Greg reminds her as he takes a seat opposite side of the table as her.
"I know but it's the talking but i've always found hard" Kathryn shares with him knowing how difficult it is not only to trust someone but to open up to them because she is such a private person.
"What about Jesse? Surely enough you talk to him" Greg asks her wanting to understand her more
"Talk to him yes but not about my feelings or about the past" Kathryn tells him shaking her head.
"Why?" Greg wonders what is really going on in her mind
"I'm guessing you know about a dark time i went through and i don't want to burden Jesse or my friends with what happened. None of them need to hear that kind of pain" Kathryn shares with him
"Sometimes you need to talk to someone about everything just to make yourself feel better" Greg advises her knowing what he is talking about.
"You see the thing is, everyone here they think i'm this angel who has done no wrong in her life, everyone expects greatness from me but the truth is i'm only damaged goods and when people realise that they look at you different" Kathryn confides in him a little
" You are not a monster Kathryn you never were. You were in pain because of what people did to you, you found a way to numb the pain not realising it was only hurting you more" Greg assures her that her darkness isn't her fault.
"I could have stopped it " Kathryn pipes up feeling guilty
"It wasn't your place to stop them, You didn't know what their intentions were with your friend. You couldn't have stopped it. You found a way to heal what they all broke, we all go different paths. Even the most innocent of us has went off road at one point in their life" Greg attempts to make her feel better.
"If it makes you feel better, some one in this school does know parts of what happened" Kathryn notifies him as she looks down at the table.
"Other than me and your father?" Greg asked her leaning forward
"Yes, I told someone the other day, they don't know the details but they know about Amy she's the one who died from the drug overdose and he knows about Renee."Kathryn shares with him
"He?"Greg picks up on what she said, Kathryn locks at him and screws up her face realising what she said
"Who's he?"Greg quizzes curious to see if she hasn't told her boyfriend Jesse then who would she have told
"I told Dallas in the car yesterday, I was in shock and when he accused me of being a perfect little princess i blurted it out" Kathryn reveals to him
"Of all the people you could have told and you told him" Greg point out to her
"I know it's funny isn't it especially since me and him don't get along at all" Kathryn laughs at the situation
"As much as the pair of you don't get along he is one person in this school who is most likely to understand"Grey notifies her
"I know, He told me but we are both pretending we don't for the other persons sake"Kathryn informs him
"I'm being told thing today that i never would have expected" Greg laughs
Kathryn gives him a little smile before looking down at her notebook.
"Your father is really proud of you and he doesn't expect you to be amazing at everything because no one is good at everything and if they are then they are obviously cheating in life. Even when you went through that dark stage in your life your father was still proud of you for being so strong and like your parents he understood why you did the things you did. You are not disappointing him and the factor that you think you are is pretty heart breaking." Greg attempts to give her an inspirational talk
She looks up at him and let's out a little smile.
"And we have both seen how much you really are trying here, You have been a completely different person, the girl you once were would never have sat in a library on any given day especially not on a Saturday" Greg acknowledges how far she has come over the years.
"With everything that's going on it makes me scared that i might to back to that place again and maybe next time i will drink myself to death but there will be nothing stopping me, not even death" Kathryn confesses to him
"You have a wonderful support system here and we would do anything and everything to make sure you don't get back to that point" Greg promises her
"Thank you for talking to me, I really needed it" Kathryn thanks him being really grateful for his help.
"I see you are studying the history of the school and vampires" Greg mentions as he glances at her book.
"Yeah, I'm trying to learn as much as i can "Kathryn tells him feeling lost with the whole history
"I can help you if you'd like" Greg offers her since he was been in the school for just as longer than Justin
"You have more important things to do" Kathryn reminds him as she glances at his books.
"Each year i come in here and i collect every book i can possibly find about party's and balls because every year we host around 2, One at Christmas and one in February and each year i feel myself out of my comfort zone having no idea what anything really means" Greg confesses to her
"You do realise you have a school here with over a thousand students"Kathryn points out
"Yes but since the very beginning of time it has been the VanderVall family which planned the party" Greg teaches her
"Well at least let me help you" Kathryn suggests to him seeing how unsure he is around the subject
"You have more important things to do" Greg quotes her
"I think we could probably help each other out" Kathryn suggests to him with a smirk
"Fair enough, where do we start" Greg agrees
"Have you ever thought of coming up with at Christmas doing Winter Wonderland but each year change the decorations, In february you come up with 3 different ideas and get the school to vote on which one they would prefer " Kathryn pipes up to him
"Not really... No " Greg answer her
"We do also do a Halloween party which you kind of missed out on" Greg remembers
"Every christmas name it " Winter Wonderland" and just change the party supplies it's pretty simple. We can figure the february one out another time. I also suggest you pick some of the most creative people and form a committee where everyone is given a role and it makes it ten times easier" Kathryn makes another suggestion to him
"How do you know so much about this?" Greg questions her
"One i'm a girl, it's pretty easy and two i used to live for parties" Kathryn reminds him shrugging her shoulders.
"Would you be able to come up with a committee even if its just the likes of your friends, It would be greatly appreciated.I must say it's nice having a female VanderVall hoping people will actually like the theme and decorations this year" Greg replies to her as he looks back on the years
"They certainly won't hate the theme or decorations i can promise you that but yeah i will figure something out" Kathryn agrees
" Right my turn, How much do you know about Vampires and about how they turn?" Greg questions her
"Not a very lot" Kathryn shakes her head having no clue at all.
"We will start of with our own kind Born vampires, as you know they only gain access to their strength and the urge to drink blood after they have died. Before then you are mortal like every other person in the world. People who were born with our gene can go to any high school they want, they don't have to come here it's not until they die that we recommend they come here due to some people can like to the age of 74 or longer. Part of the school is sectioned off for some of our older students who have died at the age of 34 or something and want to learn how to control themselves without killing people" Greg begins to teach Kathryn some of the schools history
"Wow, the things is you feel normal. I've felt sort of normal my whole life and had no idea at all" Kathryn tells him as she writes down what he says.
"Some people don't even know at all until they die. Speaking of after we have turned we continue to age then when we get to an old persons age we will "Die" more like fall asleep like an old man or woman and wake being 18 years old again. It's like we are given a fresh start at life and every time you go from old to young you can choose a new path for yourself. If you were an account in your old life why not being a personal trainer in your new" Greg explains how the process works
"How old are you then?" Kathryn questions him as he only looks 36 years old.
"I have been around since before your great grandparents Maybelle and Gideon runned the school" Greg answers her
Kathryn looks at him in shock.
"right wait you need to explain something to me so i'm about to turn 17, my dad is 34, How old would his parents have been?" Kathryn quizzes him on her family background
"Well his parent were 26 when they died so they would have been 60 years old"Greg answers her working it out
" Are my great grandparents still alive? If so how old would they be?" Kathryn continues to quiz him writing it all down
"No one knows, they left the school when Justin lost you, they needed him to have something to distract his mind on. If they were still alive they would be 98. Maybelle and Gideon didn't have kids until late on in their life which means they have most likely if they are alive i'd reckon they would be around the age of 25-30" Greg guesses to her
"Wow, that's something" Kathryn states feeling shocked by it
" They can change their looks any way they want for all we know she could have bright pink hair" Greg reveals to her
"What about Maybelle and Gideons parent's are they alive?" Kathryn quizzes him
"You have a few still living Vandervall's the original Justin was murdered but some of them are out there. Some like to stay in the shadows, we really don't know who is alive and who isn't" Greg explains to her
"Well if they're good people i think one day i would like to meet them" Kathryn pipes up wanting to know her family after feeling so lost
"I'm sure one day you will" Greg assures her
"Do you think he will ever tell me about his parents and how they died?" Kathryn asks him curious about them
"I would love to tell you yes but i really don't know" Greg cautioned over the subject knowing it isn't something Justin likes to talk about.
"I feel like even though i'm learning all of this stuff it will never truly be enough because how to do possibly learn everything about ever VanderVall that has existed and what they have done in their time at the school" Kathryn blabbered on
"Just think about this down the line another VanderVall will be sat right where you are asking the exact same question as they try learn everything they can about you" Greg reminds her that at one point people will learn about her and her stories
"Best leave out all the dark stuff then" Kathryn jokes to him
"People tend to like reading about them because it makes them feel like they aren't the only one's who is going through a hard time" Greg encourages her to tell her story
"Some day i will write it all down in a book for them" Kathryn promises him knowing that even though right now might not be the time some day it will.
"Do one thing for me" Greg replies to her
"What?" Kathryn worries what it could be
"Go live a little so that there is a story to tell" Greg urges her not wanting to see her berried in books on a Saturday.
"Maybe you're right" Kathryn smirks at him
"Over time you will figure it all out" Greg reassures her
"I'm starting to realise why they kept you around" Kathryn chuckles as she closes up her books and folders.
"Thanks to you and your generosity with the Party i will be able to stay on for longer" Greg responds to her with a smile on his face.
"I will also get on that" Kathryn assures him that she won't forget about it
"I know you will" Greg admires how far she has come over the years.
Kathryn piles all her books into one and liftst them into her arms.
"I will see you around Greg, I mean Master Tanner" Kathryn says goodbye to him
"Greg is fine" Greg nods his head at her.
Kathryn will all her things in her arms begins to walk out the library feeling a little bit happier than what she was when she first entered. She may not get all the answers she wants but one day she will but in the mean time it was time for her to really start living without the fear of the past coming to haunt her. On her way back to her room Kathryn sees Minister Isaac walking through the halls.
"Minister Isaac" Kathryn calls out to him as she tries to hurry over to him. He turns around and sees her he puts up his hand giving her a wave.
"Miss VanderVall, It's so nice to see you up and about" Minister Isaac greets her as she walks over to him
"Good afternoon, I saw you and thought to myself i need to go properly introduce myself to you. I apologise for not being able to meet with you before now" Kathryn greets him with a smile
"I think you had a perfectly good reason, but we can catch up another time if you'd like. You seem like you are headed somewhere" Minister Isaac offers her for them to arrange a day
"I just came out of the library, so much to learn. I was originally headed back to my room to drop these off" Kathryn reveals to him
"Why don't i walk with you and we can have a talk" Minister Isaac suggests to her
"That sounds like a marvelous idea" Kathryn agrees
"Let me help you with those" Minister Isaac offers
"It's alright, I'm sure i can manage" Kathryn politely turns him down
"You're just like your father, enjoy doing everything on your own" Minister Isaac points out to her as they begin to walk
"I suppose i am, How is your family doing? Well i hope?" Kathryn asks him making polite talk
" The family is doing very well, My wife is hoping to come up soon for a visit while the kids are at their grandparents" Minister Isaac answers her
"That sounds like a great idea, I would love to meet her" Kathryn grins at him
"I'm sure she would love to meet you, Ever since it was revealed you were Justins daughter she has been dying to meet you" Minister Isaac tells her
"Well i've got to meet her now" Kathryn replies
" I shall set something up with your father" Minister Isaac suggests to her
"That sounds wonderful, I can't wait to meet her " Kathryn admits looking forward to it
Minister Isaac gets a phone call as they are walking through the halls, He pulls it out and looks at it then puts it back in his pocket.
"You should take it, It could be important" Kathryn advises him knowing how important he is in one of the far off towns.
"If it's important they will call me back" Minister Isaac tells her
"I must say after only having one chat with you, you seem like a really great guy. No wonder you and my dad are friends " Kathryn admits to him with a smile
" Friends since childhood" Minister Isaac reveals to her
"I didn't know that" kathryn looks at him surprised wanting to know more
"well It will shock you to know that I'm your god-father" Minister Isaac reveals to her
" I had no idea, i wish i knew" Kathryn beams at him
" That is why i was so looking forward to meeting you" Minister Isaac responds to her
"We definitely need to meet up again and you need to tell me all the embarrassing stories about my dad" Kathryn laughs feeling really happy that this guy who she had no idea was her god-father but for some reason it just felt right.
"Here's my number, you can call me or text me any time you want" Minister Isaac places the card with his number into one of her books
"Thank you, I can't wait to get to know you and your family" Kathryn expresses her excitement to him.
Minister Isaac's phone starts ringing again, Kathryn looks at him and smiles.
"It's important, you should take it" Kathryn urges him
"I shall see you around Kathryn" Minister Isaac says to her before pulling his phone out his pocket and answering it.
Kathryn continues her journey to her bedrood/Chambers.
Towns- Cafe De'Javouir- 3.27pm
Jesse was sitting at one of the corner tables in the cafe on his laptop and his coffee in front of him. He's typing away on his laptop when Marly comes walking over and sits on the chair beside him.
"Hope this seats not taken" Marly says as she sits down beside him.
"Marly please go away" Jesse tells her not wanting anything to do with her
"I thought you looked a little lonely and needed a friend" Marly tells him as she sips on her coffee
"I'm actually meeting someone here" Jesse reveals to her hoping she will go away
"Well it can't be Kathryn because she's up at the school doing god knows what at god knows where" Marly replies trying to cause the couple trouble.
"She's in the library going through her family's history " Jesse tells her knowing exactly what Kathryn is up to.
"You have always been such a great guy Jesse" Marly confesses to him then puts her hand on his thigh.
Jesse stops typing and looks up at Marly.
"Marly, we can't, I can't. I love Kathryn" Jesse takes her hand off his leg.
"You may think you love her but you two never had we had, What we still have" Marly brings up the past
"Marly, We can't" Jesse dismisses her again shaking his head no
"One day she is going to find out what you did" Marly whispers into his ear
"You wouldn't dare" Jesse growls at her
"It won't come from my lips or my friends i can tell you that" Marly promises him before standing up grabbing her coffee cup off the table and walks away.
Jesse watches her walk away out of the cafe and catches up with her friends. He puts his head in his hands then rubs his face. He picks up his phone and messages Kathryn.
"Have i ever told you how much i love you, because i do. So very much"Jesse messages her
Within seconds Kathryn messages him back and he looks at it.
"I love you so much too" Kathryn replies to him.
He puts his phone back on the table, Looks out the window and see's Ophelia stood waiting for him from a far. He closes his laptop puts it back into his bag,His phone in his pocket,He stands up with the bag over his shoulder picks up his coffee and throws it in the bin on the way out of the door.
Kathryn's Chambers- 6.48pm
Kathryn is sat on the roof outside of her window looking out at the view of the town in her black ripped jeans, black glittery shoes and a sparkly silver and black sweetheart crop top with her hair still in curls from earlier in the morning. She tucks her legs close to her chest enjoying the silence. Inside of her room her phone keeps vibrating from notifications from the group chat she is in with the others. She turns her head back looks at her window then turns her head back and looks out at the view again. Alice and Ella come walking into her room Ella wearing a navy blue crop top that's opened in the middle, Black skinny jeans with red flowers up the left side of the leg, plain black heels, a navy blue cross body bag her hair still in tight curls from the morning.While Alice is wearing green high waist trousers, A green strappy crop top that just sits about her trousers, Green dangly earring to go with her outfit, a cream clutch bag that has green jewels at the top with black heels that has a strappy design at the front. Her hair now down in a waves, her fringe pinned at the side.
"Hey Kat, Why you not replying in the chat?" Ella aks as they walk into the room. They look around the room and don't see Kathryn.
"Kathryn, are you in the bathroom?" Alice shouts as she walks towards the door.
"Her phones there" Ella point out to her as she looks at the phone on the bed
Alice opens up the bathroom door and doesn't see her.
"Yeah she's not in here" Alice informs Ella.As Alice walks out the bathroom she sees Kathryn outside of the window sitting on the roof. She looks at Ella then looks back at the window. They both walk over to the window take off their shoes and climb out of it to Kathryn.
"What you doing out here?" Alice asks as they sit down beside her.
"Just admiring the view" Kathryn answers them and gives them a little smile.
" It's pretty gorgeous out here" Ella points out as she looks out at the view with Kathryn
"Are you alright?" Alice asks her feeling worried
"I'm fine, I promise. I'm not dead, no one's dying. I just wanted to appreciate the view" Kathryn tells them the truth feeling good after talking to Greg
"I've never really taken the time to appreciate this place" Ella tells the girls
"We best do it while we can because we have a fight ahead of us" Alice reminds the girls
"Let's not think about that tonight, Let's go meet up with the boys and have a good time" Kathryn suggests to them not wanting to think about what has to come.
"Yes please" Ella agrees with her idea.
Kathryn stands up from where she was sitting, takes one last glance at the view before walking back over to her wardrobe and climbing back through it. Ella and Alice both follow her, when the girls get inside Ella and Alice clean their feet before putting their shoes back on. Kathryn goes over and grabs her phone.
"Seriously over 50 messages" Kathryn looks at the girls with a funny look on her face.
"The boys talk so much" Alice replies to her as she grabs her bag off the table.
The girls head out of the door to the courtyard.
Courtyard- 8.59pm
Kathryn, Jesse, Alice, Ella, Danny, Zackery and Dallas are all sitting at the water fountain on the concrete slabs, Kathryn and Jesse are sitting together his arm wrapped round her on the seating area. Alice and Ella are sitting together on the concrete floor with their backs pressed up against the fountain wall. Dallas is sat with his back up against the concrete wall that goes round the seating area, While Dallas and Zackery are sat on a seating area. They have music playing through a speaker as they drink.
"Right who wants to play a game of truth or dare" Zackery pipes up wanting to make the night fun.
Kathryn looks to the girls and rolls her eyes at them knowing exactly what could happen.
"As long as you don't take it too far then yeah i'm in" Alice agrees after having a fair few to drink.
"You know what yeah why not" Jesse also agrees with him
"I'm gonna regret it but why the hell not" Kathryn pipes up allowing herself to feel vulnerable.
"You already know my answer" Danny tells Zackery as if it was a stupid question in the first place.
Zackery looks at Dallas the only person who hasn't answered, Dallas looks up at Kathryn then to the girls.
"Alright" Dallas hesitates knowing how much dark secrets he has to hide.
"Right well I'm gonna start with Alice, Truth or dare?" Zackery asks her as he leans over and grabs another beer from the cooler.
"I'm not quite drunk enough to say dare so it has to be truth" Alice answers him knowing it was the right decision.
" Do you still have feelings for Danny?" Zackery asks her getting stuck in
"If you wanted the answer you didn't have to play this game i would have given it to you anyway. I would have told you I still love you but until till you prove to me you have changed It doesn't mean a thing" Alice confesses as she looks up at Danny not holding back.
"She told us that the other day" Ella sniggers at them
"Hmm who should i turn too.. Danny. Do you still love me?" Alice questions him not sure if she wants to hear the response or not.
"I never stopped" Danny reveals to her after downing the rest of his drink. Alice looks at him and smirks.
"Well least we know that's their soppy questions out the way with" Zackery point out to the group
"Kathryn, you are only on your fifth drink while we are on our like 8th so my question to you is why don't you drink that often?" Danny asks her as he pours himself a new drink.
Dallas looks up at Kathryn wondering if she will tell them all the truth or not.
"When i was younger i got plastered and it didn't go very well so after i completely stopped. This is the first drink i've had in about a year and a half" Kathryn half heartedly tells the truth, she looks over to Dallas trying to hold it all together. He nods his head at her to check if she is okay.
"Wait what age were you drinking?" Zackery asks trying to work it out
"If i'm correct i believe it's Kathryn's turn to ask the question" Dallas pipes up looking out for her.
" Em, My girl El. Truth or dare" Kathryn ignores the question Zackery asked
" Well everyone else seems to be going for truth so i might as well too" Ella replies with a head nod
"If you had to spend the rest of your life with one man, who would it be?" Kathryn asks being easy on her friend for the first round
" That's so easy, I'm not the kind of girl who sticks to one man so my answer would be no one" Ella smirks
"That is why we are friends, we can go to a club get with other people and if there is no one good there we got each other's back. No feelings, just sex" Zackery blurts out to the group
"It's better that way then getting hocked up on a guy and getting your heart broken because it's inevitable" Ella agrees with Zackery
"Jesse, Truth or dare man" Ella asks him
"Truth" Jesse answers her
" Are you planning on hurting my best friend? because if you are i won't just think about killing you i will kill you" Ella asks him still unable to trust him
"No I'm not planning on it" Jesse answers her then kisses Kathryn's forehead because the thing is he isn't planning on hurting her he already has and currently is she just doesn't know it yet.
" I was about to say i agree with Ella on this, If she gets hurt in any way by you i won't hesitate to hurt you back"Alice vows to him not wanting her friend to get hurt.
"Well we've been going out for nearly two years and so far he hasn't so i think we're doing a good job so far" Kathryn shares with them
"Dallas, Truth or dare?" Jesse asked him with a slight glare in his eyes.
"Truth" Dallas responds
" What's your deepest darkest secret?" Jesse asks him knowing his whole life is a secret.
Kathryn quickly looks at Dallas and her eyes widen then looks at Jesse then back to Dallas.
"Don't tell them" Kathryn mouths to him trying to have his back
Dallas licks him lips, takes a breath and looks at Jesse.
"You want to know my deepest darkest secret? Well here it goes just like you i've killed someone who hurt someone i loved" Dallas tells them the truth but not his deepest darkest secret.
"Jesse you've killed someone, Who?" Kathryn blurts out looking at him in shock.
" Your boy really isn't as innocent as he says he is" Zackery shakes his head at her and part of him can't believe how little Kathryn appears to know about vampire Jesse.
"It was a long time ago Kathryn just leave it" Jesse snaps at her.
"I'm not going to shout at you, I just asked a question" Kathryn exhales annoyed at him, she roles her eyes as she looks away starting to see this whole different side to him since joining the school.
"Alice truth or dare?" Dallas changes the topic so that there isn't silence.
"Screw it dare"Alice pipes up having lost her care and wanting to have some real fun.
"I dare you to do something you wouldn't have dreamed of doing two months ago" Dallas instructs her
Alice smirks at them and stands up from where we was sat. She walks over to Danny grabs a hold of his hand and pulls him away, they run to the opposite side of the school and into the wooden part of the school grounds where they can't be seen.
"I swear if you came sooner you wouldn't have been friends with her, I love the girl but she was being a plain Jane" Ella shares with Kathryn which surprises her.
"Since they're not here what do we do exactly?"Zackery asks the group unsure if they should carry on the game or not. Kathryn gets up off the seat she was on and sits beside Ella.
" I'm dying to know what age did you start drinking?" Ella questions her with intrigue.
"Properly? The age of 13 " Kathryn confesses to them
"And to think i expected you to be a innocent goody two shoes" Zackery begins to say before being interrupted
"she is innocent, she's not done half the things we have. She's got a pure heart" Jesse interrupts Zackery to correct him only seeing her in one light.
" Dallas who was the last girl you slept with?" Zackery asks him trying not to let the conversation end or get awkward
Kathryn's phone starts ringing she see's it's from her mum so gets up and walks away from the others.
"Mum?" Kathryn asks when she answers.
"My little girl, I don't have much time to talk but there is something i need to you, It's about your past and it's about your future and i don't have a lot of time left. There is people coming for us"Christine informs her daughter
"Where are you? Where's dad?" Kathryn asks worried about her mum
"We are at the house, Please come" Christine begs her from the other end of the phone.
"Okay, I'm on my way" Kathryn agrees as her heart begins to sink inside of her with worry.
"I love you so much, Me and your father love you so much" Christine informs her
"I love you both, I'll see you soon" Kathryn repeats to her mum before they both hang up the call.
Kathryn turns round and looks at her friends drinking and laughing wondering to herself how the hell she is going to get herself from North Carolina to Miami.
